Joe Hermes, one of the hottest new acts in the Rock Country scene, is an Illinois native and former defensive lineman known for his edgy vocal textures and high-energy performances. Driven by his faith, family, and belief in the American Dream, Hermes brings a blend of "gunpowder country" to his music, influenced by Metallica, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Aerosmith, and Bon Jovi. His sound is characterized by intense, soulful vocals and raw, honest lyrics. Hermes made his official debut in 2020 with the EP "SOULS WITH STONES," produced by renowned music producer Buddy Hyatt. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID shutdown, Hermes focused on songwriting, collaborating with Grammy-winning songwriter/producer/manager Dale Oliver. In 2023, he released his full-length CD, "ROCKIN' A COUNTRY TOWN," co-produced with Oliver. The album features original songs written alongside Dan Couch and Big Vinny Hickerson, including tracks like "Stronger Than Whiskey," "SkyFall," and "Used To Be Me," which reached No. 46 on the MusicRow Country Breakout Chart. Hermes has quickly gained support from country radio, fans, and his peers. Over three years, he has shared the stage with top country artists such as David Nail, Ward Davis, Craig Campbell, Kolby Cooper, and Kinsey Rose from The Voice. He has also established a presence in the Rock 'n Roll arena, opening for acts like Uncle Kracker, Black Stone Cherry, Head East, Jackyl, and Lita Ford. With a unique blend of grit and determination, Joe Hermes is carving out his own path in the music industry, ready to ROCK A COUNTRY TOWN. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/tophillrecording/support

We welcome back Singer-Songwriter, Country Rocker and friend to the show to introduce his new music to his growing legion of fans! It's a story of his journey discovering himself and his sound as a musician. Labeled a "Fresh Find" by Texas Music Pickers, Palmer's music has been streamed over a million times and been featured on playlists such as Spotify's Texas Country Now, Fresh Finds Country and New Music Nashville.  He has brought his rowdy and energetic show to all corners of the country touring with the likes of Kolby Cooper, Pecos & the Rooftops, Corey Kent, Cody Hibbard and more; and at 24, he's just getting started. Palmer Anthony is a singer-songwriter and musician based out of Fort Worth, TX.  A kid from the West, Palmer grew up playing baseball, football and basketball and spent his summers pouring concrete.  At the age of 14 he picked up the guitar and began self-teaching himself country songs he had heard around the house from his dad's cassette player; however only to a recreational degree.    Upon graduating high school he entered college at the University of California, Santa Barbara to play baseball and there, in the bustling beach community, began to find comfort again in the genre of Country Music; as it reminded him of home.  Palmer began writing his own lyrics in his first year of college and soon fell in love with the craft of songwriting.  So much so that after a solo trip to Lubbock, TX and soon after to Nashville, TN in his second year of college, he decided that's what he wanted to do.  After graduating in two and a half years, Palmer packed his bags in April of 2017 without knowing a soul in town, and headed back to Fort Worth to try his hand at the Country Music industry. Since then Palmer has been produced by the likes of three-time Grammy Award-winning producer Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Niall Horan, Shawn Mendes etc.) and Scott Faris (Flatland Cavalry, Randall King). He's been selected as a "Fresh Find" by Texas Music Pickers, has played festivals, clubs, dive bars, and opened for acts such as the Kolby Cooper, Pecos & the Rooftops and Josh Ward. His singles have amassed over 1 million streams and his debut album set to be released in Spring of 2022, mixes his roots of traditional Texas-style instrumentation and lyricism with a modern flare. #WindyCityJoes #KolbyCooper #BoyFromAndersonCountyWindy City Joe's Michael and Jackson, sit down with Kolby Cooper to discuss growing up in a small town, the story behind excuses, Cannonball, and One Night Stand. We even touch on the uses of cannabis for creative work. Only three years out of high school, still living in his small East Texas hometown, Kolby Cooper started selling out shows and clocking millions of streams using only his songs as muscle, earning streaming numbers typically reserved for household names. Amassing over 113.5 million on demand streams to date, Kolby released his first EP as a signed artist, Boy From Anderson County, on August 6 via BBR Music Group / Wheelhouse Records in partnership with Combustion Music. The prolific songwriter has an uncanny ability to turn his and his friends' life stories into relatable songs his rabidly zealous fanbase can't get enough of, and his upcoming EP is no different, stacking the release with high-energy rockers, scorching break-up anthems and reflective love songs. With new music on the horizon, Kolby continues his strenuous tour schedule throughout 2021, headlining sold-out shows all over the country, bringing with him his signature blend of Lonestar State roots, rough-hewn vocals and wailing electric guitar. Fans will have no doubt that his forthcoming EP is authentically Kolby.Check out more from Kolby Cooper - https://www.kolbycooper.com/subscribe for more content - https://linktr.ee/windycityjoes Presented by Untied EntertainmentPartnered with Joe's Bar (Chicago), Joe's Live! Kolby Cooper is an up-and-coming artist out of Texas who recently released his new album "Boy From Anderson County to the Moon". Kolby joins Country Music Made Me to discuss growing up in a small farming community with a population of 30 people, the impact his Dad had on his love of Country Music, and how important music was in allowing him to overcome the pain of losing his father to brain cancer when he was 14. Kolby and Brendan talk about the memories he has from long drives with his Dad hauling cattle, his progression as an artist after learning the guitar in his early teens, and how quickly his career took off after the release of his debut EP only a few months after high school. Kolby explains the process of creating his new album "Boy From Anderson County to the Moon", what it's been like working with producer Philip Mosley ever since his debut single in 2017, and what it means to be making his Grand Ole Opry debut.Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Country Music Made Me

Corey Kent is a singer/songwriter who released his latest single "Wild As Her" in early 2022. Corey joins Country Music Made Me to discuss the hard-working principles passed down through the generations from his Great Grandfather that continue to help guide him through his journey, the early musical experiences at the Oklahoma State Fair and Cain's Ballroom that created a unique musical spark within him, and what he learned during his years fronting the Western Swing band Oklahoma Stomp during his teens. Corey and Brendan talk about the life changing moment when he was welcomed to sing on stage with Willie Nelson, how he was able to chase a career in music while at the same time earning a business degree from Oklahoma State, and what he learned during his early years in Nashville. Corey explains how difficult it was to navigate 2020 as an up-and-coming independent artist, the live changing moments that happened while on tour with the likes of Parker McCollum, Randy Rogers, Aaron Watson, Kolby Cooper and Cody Johnson in 2021, and how this year is setting up to be his biggest yet with the early success of his new single "Wild As Her".
