This week on Roots Music Rambler, hosts Francesca Folinazzo (Frank) and Jason Falls (Falls) visit with Texas-based country artist Bri Bagwell. She has strung together 12 No. 1 hits on the Texas Country Music Charts and is a nine-time winner of that organization's Female Artist of the Year. She's well on her way to becoming the next big thing in country music and she sat in with us for a chat. Bagwell's latest album, Corazon Y Cabeza, features a song climbing those charts this summer called The Rescue. It's about her dog Whiskey, a rescue she found on the side of the road several years ago, who incidentally sat in Bri's lap during the interview. Bagwell is also a successful podcaster as host of Only Vans, a music interview show where Bri interviews her fellow artists in the front of her touring van as she travels across the country playing gigs. Hear several of her songs and all about her climb to the country music mountain tops on this week's episode. Francesca and Falls also talk about 80s hair bands, the 25th anniversary of Old Crow Medicine Show, which played a private show Falls attended recently. And as usual, Frank and Falls offer up their weekly recommendations for new music to listen to in their Pickin' the Grinnin' segment. Don't forget you can now show your support of the show with Roots Music Rambler's new merch, now available at rootsmusicrambler.com/store. Authentic t-shirts, hats and stickers are now available. As the saying goes, “Everything's bigger in Texas.” And no one is bigger in Texas than my special guest today, country music star, Bri Bagwell! If you have ears, (and by the way, I hope you do,) or if you lean in for good times and you love good music, you have heard of Bri Bagwell. Or, should I say Y'all have heard of her? Bri is a force to be reckoned with on the Texas Country scene. Bri has been dreaming of performing most of her life. And she has performed, here and there. But after college, Bri found herself too often choosing between her day job and her dream. Performing less and less. For most of us, this is where the story would end. Reality and daydreams make terrible partners. After just three months at her new job after college, Bri knew what she had to do and threw herself full-time into her music career. Now…she has ten #1 songs in Texas and multiple Female Vocalist of the Year awards to her credit. People Magazine recently premiered her new record Corazón y Cabeza. and said of Bri: “Bri Bagwell finds the path to her own heart on new album Corazón y Cabeza…[Bri Bagwell] is increasingly finding her name being mentioned amongst country music truth-tellers such as Ashley McBryde and Morgan Wade.” https://www.bribagwell.com Hello Highway Tour 2023 www.onlyvanspodcast.com Only Vans is the new podcast brought to you by country music singer, Bri Bagwell, where she talks with her friends in her van about unique topics like feet pics, dating in the music scene, tour bus and green room antics, and so much more. Had a great time on the Podcast with Bri... Such an amazing talent & so down earth. She even curled her hair while we were recording as she had a photo shoot right after.Texas Female Artist of the Decade, Bri Bagwell, is a force to be reckoned with on the Texas Country scene. Bri has seen her audience grow and diversify as she has progressed through the musical landscape. From her first full-length release, Banned from Santa Fe in 2011, to her 2022 release Corazón y Cabeza (Heart and Head) Bri has masterfully commanded the stage for over a decade with her rousingly fun live performances and trailblazing artistry while creating a loyal and passionate fan base.Bri grew up in Las Cruces, NM but now lives in New Braunfels, TX. From the time she was writing poems in her childhood bedroom, to teaching herself how to play a dusty old piano, to getting her first taste of honky-tonk life singing in her twin brothers' band at age 14, to playing her first solo show in college, Bri has integrated music into each stage of her life. After high school, jumping at the chance to live in ‘The Live Music Capital of the World', Bri attended the University of Texas in Austin. It was here that Bri picked up a guitar and quickly learned to play a few chords. She jokes, “because it was easier to carry than a piano.” Finding herself in the right city with a new passion for the 6-string life surrounded by fellow musicians, Bri was drawn to the stage.

Y lo hicieron gracias canciones como "I’ll Never Get Over You" que cantaba sobre días más largos y barbacoas encendidas. My Favorite Picture of You. Escuchar audio

Bri Bagwell kicks off the Establishing Your Empire podcast talking about her songwriting and professional musician career as well as the passing of Kylie Rae Harris. This interview will strike a chord with her friends, peers, and mentors as Bri sheds light on the constant struggle that every touring musician battles: the rollercoaster of how live show attendance, record sales, and ticket counts are the benchmark of how performers are judged in this business, and the toll the size of the audience can take on their heart each night... all the while running her own organization. For episode notes, full show video and more information, including a transcript, visit our website: https://establishingyourempire.comLearn more about Bri Bagwell at www.bribagwell.com
THE TROUBADOUR PODCAST - The Premier Red Dirt, Texas Country and Independent Music Podcast
I’d never met Jody Booth before this interview. But, before it was over, I knew I was talking to a guy that would be fun to sit at a bar with, down a few cold beers and just talk music and life with. Holy cow, I laughed a lot during this interview! Like me, I’m sure that before this episode is over you can understand why Jody is liked by so many of his peers in the industry. If you are unaware, beyond Jody’s own career, there are a couple other important musical females in his life. The first, and in no particular order, is Bri Bagwell. Bri has been a past guest on the podcast and her and Jody have recently teamed up for a new musical endeavor. They are booking some gigs as a duo and they call themselves the “Set ‘em up Joes.” Jody and Bri have been longtime friends and collaborators so they said it should be fun chasing down this little side project. The other musical female in Jody’s life is his daughter, Laci Kaye Booth, who’s musical stardom began taking off after having success as a contestant on American Idol. We visited with Jody a little bit about her and what it’s like to have a daughter who’s success in the business is really taking off. There are a ton of other things I could say about this episode but I think I’ll let the audio speak for itself. Make sure to check out Jody’s website and music by clicking HERE ! THE TROUBADOUR PODCAST - The Premier Red Dirt, Texas Country and Independent Music Podcast
Anyone following the Texas / Red Dirt Music scene knows, that for some time now, Bri Bagwell has become a staple within it. In this episode we find out how Bri went from singing in her twin brothers’ band at the age of 14 in her home town of Las Cruces, New Mexico, to becoming the female force in Texas & Red Dirt Music that she is today. Bri talks us through her career’s beginnings after arriving in Texas and singing on barstools, all the way to making it to Nashville with a developmental deal in her pocket. Bri explains how on the day she was informed that her deal wouldn’t be renewed, she decided to go out alone in Nashville and by chance, found herself at the same bar as fellow Texas Music stalwart, Wade Bowen. In this sweet anecdote, Wade gives her a hug and explains that everything will be alright. Through this episode and conversation, something became pretty obvious to me about Bri: While on the surface spectators see a sexy, talented, instrument-playing artist, what is most-likely missed, or never considered, is how freaking hard-working and determined Bri is, and HAS to be! I want you to consider something…. And this if for our female listeners specifically: Can you imagine changing your clothes and preparing to go onstage at a festival and the only option for a “dressing room” is a flippin’ Porta-potty? Can you imagine riding around all over the country in a 15-passenger van with a bunch of dudes (knowing how dudes in a group can be), just to chase a career and a dream? That shows heart. That shows sacrifice. That shows drive and determination. And to be perfectly honest, I can’t say that I know many, if ANY, other females that would be willing to go through such things, for any extended length of time anyway, no matter WHAT the outcome of the effort may or may not be! So anyway, with this episode, we give you another sneak peek behind the scenes into the life and career of a good one: Bri Bagwell. www.bribagwell.com Don’t forget about the upcoming 610 Music Festival. #BGEPresent artist spotlight on @breelanangel with host @jiggyjaguar "Rhinestone World"....
