In the hot seat today is Sean Davis, diving head into stories around his time at Fulham including seeing Michael Jackson, how bumping a taxi lead to the start of his career and an infamous argument about doing a naked lap around the training ground.  Coming through was part of the Fulham Wednesday club alongside the likes of Chris Coleman, Andy Melville, Kit Simmons & Lee Clark. Going out on Wednesday nights in Wimbledon is always a dangerous game when the assistant manager is driving around.  He talks candidly about his nightmare spell at Spurs the clashes with Harry Redknapp, being humiliated in training by Martin Jol, sending a rogue text from the physio's phone, and the heartbreak of being left off the bench for the FA Cup Final despite having eight tickets for his family. Sean also tells the story of the Kingsbridge financial scandal that devastated him and dozens of other footballers losing money he didn't even know was gone, HMRC turning up at his door, and the darkest moment of his life driving home from Oxford. Plus: the Eggy Buff king holds court, the card school that hid from Glenn Little, Dean Kylie punching him on the M27, and Mark Crossley timing how long it took bouncers to pull his trousers up. On this week's show, host Mark Singleton is joined by The YP's football writers, Stuart Rayner and Leon Wobschall, to assess where each of Premier League and EFL clubs lie ahead of the last few weeks of the 2025-26 season. They start at Harrogate Town, Yorkshire's sole League Two representative and who are almost starting into the abyss after a 2-0 defeat at home to Notts County combined with positive results elsewhere for their rivals left them bottom of the standings, four points from safety with just six games remaining. If the Sulphurites do survive York City will be hoping to join them back in the fourth tier, locked in a fierce battle with Rochdale for the one and only automatic promotion spot. The panel then take a look at the run-in from the Premier League down to League One, starting in the Premier League with Leeds United, who have eight games remaining to secure their top-flight status – currently sitting four points clear of the bottom three. In the Championship, there are four Yorkshire teams each fighting for their own different reasons with Middlesbrough hoping to claim automatic promotion, Hull City wanting to book their place in the play-offs, Sheffield United wanting to have a strong finish to the season and Sheffield Wednesday determined to show that they have some fight as they head into League 1.And, in League 1, there is plenty to keep us occupied with Bradford City still in the hunt for a play-off spot, with Huddersfield Town still hoping to join them in the post-season despite a recent drop off in form.Barnsley and Doncaster Rovers, meanwhile, simply want to head into the summer in a positive frame of mind following testing campaigns, while Rotherham United will be hoping Lee Clark can drag them to safety with just eight games left to overturn the nine-point gap that currently exists between themselves and the team immediately above the drop zone, Blackpool.

On this week's show, Leon Wobschall and Stuart Rayner join host Mark Singleton and start off by assessing the Yorkshire derby between Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday – when the Tigers came from behind to win 3-1, maintaining their push for automatic promotion while piling on the agony for the beleagured Owls.In another Yorkshire derby, Doncaster Rovers took the points in a 1-0 win over Barnsley, before winning by the same scoreline against Port Vale to offer hope of a strong finish to what has been a testing first season back in League One. Following last week's sacking of Matt Hamshaw – which happened while last week's podcast was being recorded – the Millers have moved swiftly to bring in a replacement in the shape of former Huddersfield Town boss Lee Clark. He had a tough start when overseeing a 3-0 defeat at runaway leaders Lincoln City, but it will have given him an insight into the size of the task he has been handed at the New York Stadium. Off the field, Tony Stewart has transferred the majority stake in the club to his son, Richard. Finally, Stuart singles out his Yorkshire-based Player of the Week, while Leon picks out which Yorkshire club is deserving of this week's Team of the Week accolade.

Episode 565 - Lee Clark - Matthew Paine Mystery Series - Including the upcoming book Killer ConvergenceLee Clark is the author of the Matthew Paine Mystery series of classic murder mystery novels, including Dead Spots, Prefer Death, MIA, Christmas Punch, Iced, Forbidden Relics, and the upcoming Killer Convergence to be released in the spring of 2025. According to multiple reviews across the book series on goodreads and Amazon, Clark "writes like Agatha Christie," and is reminiscent of Margaret Maron and Louise Penny. A North Carolina native, Clark grew up in Raleigh with family roots in Virginia. An admitted chocoholic and coffeeholic, Lee Clark still resides in North Carolina with spouse, two mostly grown children who are in and out, and a dwindling petting zoo of geriatric dogs and cats.  Lee Clark attended Campbell University, obtained a degree in Journalism from East Carolina University, and then a Master's in Technical Communication from North Carolina State University. Following a twenty year career in the software development industry of corporate America at IBM, Clark turned to writing fiction in 2021 with the release of Dead Spots, the first in the Matthew Paine Mystery series. The Matthew Paine character is a beloved character to the author. Though a fictional character, Matthew was inspired by two very important men in the author's life, brother Sean and son Will. Both will catch glimpses of themselves in the character and identify with some of Matthew's struggles.  https://cypressrivermedia.com/Support the show___https://livingthenextchapter.com/podcast produced by: https://truemediasolutions.ca/Coffee Refills are always appreciated, refill Dave's cup here, and thanks!https://buymeacoffee.com/truemediaca

How do you write a frozen corpse in a heated pool and make it believable? What's the etiquette when cold-calling a forensic entomologist? And how do you stop your own research from hijacking the plot?In this episode, I'm joined by bestselling mystery author Lee Clark, whose Matthew Paine Mysteries spans spans seven intricately researched novels. We dive into the weird, wonderful, and sometimes disturbing world of crime fiction research from poisons and human trafficking to cold cases and black diamonds.Lee shares how she turns real-world expertise into gripping plot points, why she's never afraid to approach a subject matter expert, and what she does when her characters (or her rabbit holes) take the story in unexpected directions. We also talk about writing emotional truth, editing with a scalpel, and the fine line between curiosity and chaos.Whether you're writing thrillers, historical fiction, or anything that requires digging into the dark corners of human behaviour, this episode will leave you feeling informed, inspired, and slightly worried about our search histories.

This dynamic and godly couple share what God is doing through their ministry. They explore themes of forgiveness, faith, and divine providence through the testimony of a couple who experienced profound loss and ultimately found healing and a renewed sense of purpose. Drawing from Scripture, particularly Matthew 25, it emphasizes the importance of extending compassion and grace to others, even in the face of tragedy, and highlights how faith can transform suffering into a catalyst for ministry and spiritual growth. The narrative recounts a devastating accident, the subsequent journey toward forgiveness, and the unexpected development of a shared ministry, demonstrating God's ability to bring unexpected blessings and purpose from brokenness.

Ravel Morrison joins the podcast this week, and might just be the most surprising guest we have ever had on Undr The Cosh. Ravel lifts the lid on the lies, rumours, and misconceptions so many people have about him and why he never lived up to his potential. From a young age, Ravel had eyes on him as he came through the ranks at Manchester United under Sir Alex Ferguson, where he was widely regarded as the best talent in the academy. With a dressing room full of world-class professionals like Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand, and Cristiano Ronaldo, it's hard to understand why so much of that talent went unfulfilled. Despite his raw ability, Sam Allardyce managed to get glimpses of his best including that unforgettable goal against Tottenham but after agent disputes, he was forced out the door and once again labelled a “bad egg.” After moving abroad, Ravel hit the lowest point in his career under Simone Inzaghi at Lazio before rediscovering his love for football playing in Mexico. And of course, in true Undr The Cosh fashion, we get the full story behind his obsession with tuna, the infamous incident involving Lee Clark's pond, and why Gary Neville once lost it and smashed his phone. Ravel opens up about the people who lied about him, his beef with Zaha and explains exactly where things went wrong and why a player with his level of talent never fulfilled his full potential. Submission guidelines can be found at http://www.TallTaleTV.com   ---- About Tall Tale TV ---- Hi there! My name is Chris Herron and I'm an audiobook narrator. In 2015, I suffered from poor Type 1 diabetes control which lead me to become legally blind for almost a year. The doctors didn't give me much hope, predicting an 80% chance that I would never see again. But I refused to give up and changed my lifestyle drastically. Through sheer willpower (and an amazing eye surgeon) I beat the odds and regained my vision. During that difficult time, I couldn't read or write, which was devastating as they had always been a source of comfort for me since childhood. However, my wife took me to the local library where she read out the titles of audiobooks to me. I selected some of my favorite books, such as the Disc World series, Name of the Wind, Harry Potter, and more, and the audiobooks brought these stories to life in a way I had never experienced before. They helped me through the darkest period of my life and I fell in love with audiobooks. Once I regained my vision, I decided to pursue a career as an audiobook narrator instead of a writer. That's why I created Tall Tale TV, to support aspiring authors in the writing communities that I had grown to love before my ordeal. My goal was to help them promote their work by providing a promotional audio short story that showcases their writing skills to readers. They say the strongest form of advertising is word of mouth, so I offer a platform for readers to share these videos and help spread the word about these talented writers. Please consider sharing these stories with your friends and family to support these amazing authors. Although many hearing and sighted people imagine DeafBlind life in tragic terms, as an experience of isolation and darkness, the poet John Lee Clark's writing is full of joy. On October 18, 1996, 15-year-old Brian Bowling and his friend, 17-year-old Cain Storey, were in Brian's bedroom in Silver Creek, GA when a gun went off and shot Bowling in the head, ultimately killing him. Storey initially claimed that Bowling shot himself while playing a game, however, he later falsely confessed to shooting Bowling, and was subsequently convicted of his murder. During the investigation, 17-year-old Daryl “Lee” Clark also became a suspect as the state believed that he acted as an accomplice who helped kill Bowling to exact revenge for an unrelated event. Despite evidence supporting the fact that Bowling accidentally shot himself, and Storey's assertion that Clark was not present on the night in question, false testimony led to Clark's conviction and ultimate life sentence. He began writing poetry and fiction in the early 1990s. His work has regularly appeared in a variety of literary journals and genre magazines over the last two decades. Publication credits include Tiferet, Zillah, The Ugly Tree, Modern Drunkard Magazine, Red Owl, Jones Av., Main Street Rag, Space & Time, Mythic Delirium and Weird Tales.
