For generations, fathers were expected to provide, protect, and keep their emotions in check. Love was often shown, but rarely spoken. But does it have to be that way? In this episode of Clemenz With a Z, we dive into the generational expectations of fatherhood, the unspoken rules around masculinity, and why words—especially words like "I love you"—carry more weight than we realize. I share personal stories, explore the impact of silence, and unpack how simple words can change everything. We'll talk about why dads often find it easier to express love to their daughters than their sons, and how cultural norms have shaped the way men navigate emotional connection. But this isn't just about reflection—it's about action. I'll offer practical ways for dads to start breaking the cycle, to show up differently, and to create a new legacy where love isn't just assumed, but heard. Because love ain't gonna say itself.

Sometimes we can more clearly explain what something is by explaining what it's not. Radical love ain't rude. Rude is ill-mannered and disagreeable towards others. But rude is more than that, it's also ill-mannered and disagreeable towards God. Rude wants what it wants, when it wants from God and everybody else. But those who walk in radical love are yielding their rights, seeing past themselves and learning to rest knowing God is fighting for them.

Have you seen the signs around your town? “Love is love” the signs read, alongside a number of other pithy one-liners designed to stir your emotions for whatever cause de jour to which Progressives have attached themselves. These signs include such misguided maxims as “women's rights are human rights,” which is little more than progressive slang for “leave me alone while I murder my baby,” and “Black Lives Matter,” which sounds noble on the surface, but really means “if you do not support the organization BLM and all it stands for, you are a hopeless racist and no better than Hitler or the Klan.” When it comes to the subject of love, Christians need biblical direction for navigating a world that exchanged the truth about love for a self-serving lie. Our world - and by "world" I mean the systems, institutions, and principalities set in opposition to God and His Word - tells us love is predicated on what you feel in your heart, and you must follow your heart. The Bible tells us our hearts are sick and untrustworthy, and that love is predicated on obedience and service. Tonight on Verity Talk, we are going to talk about self-love and that it is not biblical; we are also going to talk about the truth that God wants to give us long life.

We wouldn't be true 30 something podcasters if we didn't discuss the latest reality tv obsession - Love is Blind. On todays episode we talk all about americas favorite (or hated) couples and break down each of their issues and problems. We debate who will make it, who wont, and why you should always try to date a former ugly duckling. Even if you don't watch the show, todays episode is still a good one. In this episode of Defiant Health, I'd like to talk about how the intensity of love, affection, and other emotions and social interactions have lost intensity. The love of today, I'm going to argue, is less involved, less intense, less soul-wrenching, involving more superficial commitment than it used. If we could compare the love and affection of, say, 50, 100, 1000 years ago, I am going to illustrate how our current version of these emotions is an anemic, watered-down version. And, along with this change, I'm going to propose that many of the social phenomena that we are all familiar with—-divorce, social isolation, loss of community, increasing suicide—-are all related. The good news: I believe that you can fix this broken part of the human experience, both for yourself and for the people around you. A homily for the 23rd Sunday I'm ordinary time. We talk about what it means to be a true disciple.
I liked my first chat with Kute Blackson but I loved this one. This is the bloke who walked away from his church upbringing (and his likely life as an evangelist) after preaching to an audience of 3,000 at 8, being an ordained minister at 14 and being the son of a Japanese mum and a famous Ghanaian preacher father, who had a clear plan for his son's life. Well, in this chat Kute dropped some knowledge, wisdom and inspiration and (for the woo-woo brigade) a few spiritual insights (like the concept of the mind serving the soul). We also spoke about.. structure and planning vs. freestyle and instinct, the myth of logic, keeping others happy, the nature of the ego, personal reality, confirmation bias, surrendering, conditional love (which isn't actually love), the mind as a tool and a barrier and lots more. Enjoy. kuteblackson.com See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
