Yet another FA Cup semi-final successfully navigated means Pep Guardiola will become the first person to lead a team to four successive Cup Finals. David Mooney is joined by City fan Chris Higginbottom and, from Football365, Sarah Winterburn to discuss the week's news. That FA Cup Final has had a knock-on effect all over the place, too. It means Guardiola will become the City manager with the most matches taken charge of at the end of this season, taking him to 593 (one more than Les McDowall). We speak to the football historian Gary James about that milestone and about the man Pep will overtake. That extra game next month has also caused a bit of fixture congestion. City wanted to play away at Bournemouth before the trip to Wembley, but the logistics of the calendar and the Premier League have nudged it to the final midweek of the season instead. We look at what's happened there. And, with Everton on the horizon on Monday, we hear from Matt Jones from The Blue Room to find out how their end-of-season is looking. What can City expect on their first visit to the Hill Dickinson? ========== To get more podcasts or to listen without the ads, join our Patreon. Together, we explore how the Psalms ~ through themes of orientation, disorientation, and reorientation ~ offer a powerful framework for making sense of life when it no longer feels predictable or clear. This conversation invites listeners to move from certainty to curiosity, from comfort to courage, and from striving to presence. It is an honest reflection on faith, vulnerability, and the beauty of a more inclusive and compassionate way of being.“Having gone through the disorienting experience and realizing how we might put it is that God was with us or helped guide us and never abandoned us, even when we felt like we were abandoned… if I can make it through that, I can make it through anything. And it's God's leading that will ultimately help us in this new chapter.”Whether you feel grounded, lost, or somewhere in between, this episode offers a reminder that you are not alone ~ and that even in disorientation, there is a way through.Rev. Welcome back to the Deep Blue Dive Podcast, in the Blue Room, with Steve Dickinson and Becky Tallentire. In this week's episode, we look back on the 2017/18 season. After sacking Ronald Koeman in late October, Farhad Moshiri panicked and brought in relegation specialist, Sam Allardyce and his side-kick, Sammy Lee. What would the Goodison faithful make of Sam and Sammy in the dugout? Would Moshiri allow Big Sam to splash the cash in the January 2018 transfer window? Would Allardyce keep the Blues in the top flight for one more season, and if he did would he be given a chance to rebuild the club? Join Steve and Becky for the highs - and the lows - of The Sam Allardyce Era, in this Thursday's Deep Blue Dive, in the Blue Room. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
Dominic Carter critiques New York City Mayor Mamdani for transforming City Hall's historic Blue Room into a prayer space for a Ramadan event, an act Carter views as an unprecedented violation of the separation of church and state. The program weaves together listener call-ins and expert commentary to argue that such actions reflect a concerning rise in Islamic influence and a broader failure of leadership regarding national security and border control. By highlighting recent terrorist threats and contrasting the Mayor's religious inclusivity with a perceived double standard against Christian or Jewish traditions, the show aims to sound an alarm about the cultural and political transformation of New York. We learn about her history growing up in a small town with a love for Nirvana and Sub Pop Records which led to her attending MTSU for Music Business and internships at a small label and Third Man Records. In this episode of The Deep Dive, we unravel one of the most provocative claims in the UFO discourse: that the real secret isn't just extraterrestrial visitation—it's the nature of reality itself. Drawing from documented testimony, insider accounts, and theoretical physics, we explore how decades of government secrecy may be rooted not in fear of aliens, but in fear of what their existence implies about consciousness, time, and space. We begin with high-level institutional knowledge. From General Arthur Exon's assertion that the Roswell crash was immediately recognized as extraterrestrial, to Eisenhower's alleged 1954 disappearance for a secret meeting at Edwards Air Force Base, the evidence suggests presidents and generals have long been aware—and complicit in cover-ups. Nixon reportedly showed alien bodies to comedian Jackie Gleason. Jimmy Carter, despite having seen a UFO himself, was denied access to files by CIA Director George H.W. Bush. Even Senator Barry Goldwater was refused entry to the rumored “Blue Room” at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, told the material was “above top secret.”But the story doesn't stop at politics. We follow the thread north to Canada, where Wilbert Smith, head of Project Magnet, publicly declared that flying saucers were real and piloted by ETs. Smith claimed to have handled debris from a 1952 Washington, D.C. incident—magnesium ferrite, a material harder than anything known at the time. This led researchers to a startling conclusion: the technology was so advanced, it forced a rethinking of physics itself.Enter consciousness. Smith and others began exploring ESP, telepathy, and the “hard problem” of subjective experience. Intelligence agencies even investigated automatic writing cases, such as Francis Swan's alleged contact with an entity named AFFA. The implication? That understanding UFOs might require understanding consciousness as a primary force—not a byproduct of matter, but the very ground of reality. This aligns with biocentrism, a theory suggesting that consciousness creates the universe, not the other way around. Nobel physicist Max Planck once said, “I regard consciousness as fundamental.” If true, then time, space, and even physical laws may be observer-dependent. Muon decay experiments and quantum wave collapse support this idea: reality becomes definite only when observed. So what does this mean for the UFO mystery? Abductees often report telepathic communication—clear, noise-free, and instantaneous. These beings may have mastered consciousness itself. And that's where the cover-up deepens. If millions have been abducted and governments can do nothing to stop it, disclosure would mean admitting total impotence. Worse, the social structure of these entities—hive-like, communal, lacking individuality—resembles ideological models antithetical to Western values. Revealing them might destabilize not just science, but society. Finally, we explore whether consciousness is an information field—and whether technologies like the internet, Memex, and even Google's algorithm were intuitive downloads from that field. If so, the ultimate secret may not be aliens at all. It may be the latent power of the human mind.Grant Cameron Websitewww.presidentialufo.org

A few years ago I shared my Reinvention Series that was wildly popular (Ep. 301-306). It shared my 3.5 year period of going through a terribly difficult time that included a debilitating back injury, 2nd knee replacement, sleep apnea diagnosis, being burnt-out, and ultimately exiting Fitness Quest 10 from day-to-day operations. What I realize now is that it was all a setup for what is about to be NEXT. I recently made a huge decision that is setting up my next step in business & life. But I had to take the FIRST step before advancing to the NEXT step. After 25-years of being in my original location where I started my gym, I have decided to NOT renew my lease. There are several reasons why and I will share all of them on today's IMPACT SHOW episode. As a matter of fact, tune-in to today's first episode of a series called ‘Next Chapter Starts Now' that will end with one of the biggest 2 announcements in my entire fitness & coaching career. LITERALLY. Here is what I will discuss today: Why this is (kinda) my last podcast ever… What I believe is next? Top “10” Reflections on 25-Years in the “Roots” including… 1. Reggie Bush puking off the balcony 2. Training “LT” (LaDainian Tomlinson) for the 1st time 3. Training Drew Brees for the 1st time 4. The diamond girl coming into the gym to show me engagement rings 5. My Boom Box was a mainstay for years! 6. Svarpa Yoga and a curtain between my TD Fitness Classes and that yoga class. 7. The “Green Room” and the “Blue Room”—2 massage rooms 8. Melanie & I painting the ROOTS before we opened with our first golden retriever, Sid. 9. The power of Community. September 11, 2001. The fires in Scripps Ranch in 2003. Fires again in 2006. COMMUNITY in the good times and the tough times. . 10. Expanding…twice. First, 2002 Took over a breast-pump rental store. Gave us an extra 1,000 square feet. Then in 2006, we took over downstairs. It was a 500K expansion. I was scared and excited. 11. And Then Some: The 6-things I put on a Notecard to manifest an additional $10,000 per month when expanding. I end today's episode with 4 Coaching Questions for you to answer: 1. Have you ever moved from something that makes little or no sense to the outside world, but it feels so RIGHT on the inside world? 2. Have you ever been so scared to make a move that you deliberated for a while, or even too long, before making it? 3. How does FEAR play out in your world? Does it paralyze or crush you? Or does it propel you?4. What big decisions are you making today that you KNOW the answer “inside” but you aren't making them… (employee, expansion, sell, or acquire, grow, invest, etc.) and WHEN are you going to make those decisions? What is going to happen that will allow you to make them? Welcome to The Times of Israel's Daily Briefing, your 20-minute audio update on what's happening in Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world. Editor David Horovitz joins host Amanda Borschel-Dan for today's episode. Was the United States aware of Israel's plans to conduct an Israeli airstrike targeting a meeting of Hamas’s top leaders in Qatar’s capital, Doha, on Tuesday? According to some reports, the leadership had gathered to discuss a new US-sponsored hostage-ceasefire proposal aimed at ending the war in Gaza. At recording time, reports still differ as to whether the attack was successful. Horovitz untangles what the US may have known of the attack. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pushed back on Wednesday against mounting international criticism over Israel’s strike against Hamas leaders in Qatar the previous day. Can the furious Qataris and other Gulf States be assured that Israel will not repeat such an attack if the opportunity presents itself? President Isaac Herzog sat down on Wednesday in London with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer for what local media described as a tense meeting. Horovitz delves into how Starmer, in the current anti-Israel climate, was asked to defend himself for meeting with the Israeli president. We also hear what message Herzog attempted to convey. The Munich Philharmonic, led by its future chief conductor, Israeli musician Lahav Shani, was disinvited from a performance on September 18 at the Flanders Festival Ghent, because Shani -- the current conductor of the Israel Philharmonic -- has not clearly disavowed the Israeli government. “We have chosen to refrain from collaboration with partners who have not distanced themselves unequivocally from that regime,” the organizers said in a statement. We discuss this incident, which occurred even as the Toronto International Film Festival screened a previously canceled documentary, “The Road Between Us: The Ultimate Rescue,” which charts how retired Israeli general Noam Tibon saved his family and others during the 2023 Hamas attack. With two feature films under his belt, Samuel Van Grinsven has quickly become a vital voice in Australian cinema. His feature debut, the lurid and sumptuous 2019 queer drama Sequin in a Blue Room, utilised neon lights and lingering shots of yearning to amplify the sense of lead actor Conor Leach's youthful Sequin finding his place in a new, inviting world. With his follow up feature, Went Up the Hill, Samuel, alongside regular co-writer Jory Anast, explores facets of grief through a gothic possession drama. Here we follow Jack (Dacre Montgomery) who returns home to New Zealand for the funeral of his mother. There, he forms a fractious bond with Jill (Vicky Krieps), the widow of his mother. Where Sequin in a Blue Room explored different shades of blue, from bright neons to dark navy's, Went Up the Hill immerses viewers in shades of grey, placing Jack and Jill in a brutalist style home overlooking a cold lake. This is a film that's hard to shake. I first saw Went Up the Hill over a year ago now and there are moments in the film which have lingered in my mind in a way that that haunts my dreams. The pairing of Dacre Montgomery and Vicky Krieps is a masterful one, with the two exploring emotionality in a way that we rarely get to see on screen in an Australian film. It is, ostensibly, a film about grief and the loss of someone in your life. For Jack, as an estranged son, he has grappled with processing that grief while his mother was alive, making her true passing feel like a new advent of grief and loss. For Jill, that grief is amplified by the arrival of Jack at her partners house, and what that means for her ability to mourn the loss of her partner. These aspects, and many more, are tenderly explored in the film.In the following conversation, recorded ahead of the films screening at the Melbourne International Film Festival, Samuel talks about that colour palette for the film, while also exploring the creative path to exploring grief on screen. At the end of this interview, I misquote the title of Max Porter's essential book about grief, his 2015 novella titled Grief is the Thing with Feathers. I want to read a quote from that book which I feel touches on what this film is about 'Ghosts do not haunt, they regress. Just as when you need to go to sleep you think of trees or lawns, you are taking instant symbolic refuge in a ready-made iconography of early safety and satisfaction. That exact place is where ghosts go.'Went Up the Hill arrives in Australian cinemas on 11 September. It is a film that demands a big screen viewing.Read Nadine Whitney's review of Went Up the Hill here and listen to the interview with Dacre Montgomery here. Hosted on Acast. Universal's output in 1944 was packed with horror tales and MURDER IN THE BLUE ROOM seems a likely addition to that list of chillers. At least until you realize that a firm 20% of the film's scant running time is taken up by song & dance numbers! Yes, its another horror comedy with a script that started life as a Ritz Brothers feature, but don't let that scare you off. The chills may be lacking but the entertainment value is surprisingly high. And there is a ghost enlivening the proceedings. Oh! And a murder as well. Troy Guinn and I take a run through this humorous creeper and find ourselves having more fun than expected. The credit for that goes to the talented cast so we spend a lot of time talking about the stars and a few of the amazing bit players as well. Where else other than in this movie are you going to hear actor Ian Wolfe say the word ‘Zut'? The film has several great songs and I include Troy's favorite tune in the show because it is far too catchy to ignore. We discuss the plot shenanigans and the script's careful skipping past a subject usually forbidden by the Hays Code. Mention is made of the award-winning career of one of the screenwriters and we point to areas in the dialog where his efforts might be heard. Also, we point the curious to the first English language version of this tale, THE SECRET OF THE BLUE ROOM (1933), as a better source of horror thrills if not toe-tapping fun. This 1944 version might serve as a good pairing with that minor classic but only if we can ever get a better-looking print. Come on, Universal. If you have any song recommendations from a scary film thebloodypit@gmail.com is where to send them. And let us know what you think of this film and the podcast in general too. Thank you for listening!

But it's not clear whether stroking the president's ego has long-lasting effects. The flattery was as obvious as it was seemingly effective. Seated at a dinner table in the Blue Room of the White House on Monday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu handed President Trump a piece of paper. “I want to present to you, Mr. President, the letter I sent to the Nobel Prize committee,” Mr. Netanyahu said, with news cameras rolling. “It's nominating you for the Peace Prize. It's well deserved, and you should get it.” Mr. Trump declared the gesture “very meaningful,” though he has long said he believes the Nobel committee would never give him the prize. 知识点:Israel /ˈɪzreɪl/,n. a country in the Middle East, known for its historical and religious significance.(以色列,中东国家,以其历史和宗教意义著称) • Israel is located in the Middle East.

There's an old saying: “A picture is worth a thousand words.” By that count, artist Peter Waddell is a masterful storyteller. Beginning in 2004, the White House Historical Association commissioned the artist to create well-researched paintings to represent different periods from White House history that were not drawn, painted, or photographed definitively in their own times. The result is a collection of over a dozen pieces of artwork that capture lesser known moments of presidential life at the White House. Stewart McLaurin, President of the White House Historical Association, spoke with Peter about how these moments were chosen, the meticulous research that went into these paintings, and how Peter is able to create works that transport viewers and students to another time and another place in American history. Stewart and Peter discuss three of his extraordinary paintings that are part of the White House Historical Association's collection: A Vision Takes Form, 1796 about the construction of the White House; Tiber Creek: The Bathers which depicts a moment when President John Quincy Adams escaped a leaking boat; and First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy at Malmaison, 1961 which shows Mrs. Kennedy visiting the home of Empress Josephine of France. The Empress's silk draped bed chamber appears to have inspired the redesign and decoration of the Blue Room at the White House during the Kennedy administration. You can view Peter Waddell's paintings for the White House Historical Association here.
