Hey Strangers, #blackops #cheating #gaming Activision says it has “disabled a workaround to a detection system” in Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Warzone that led to legitimate players getting banned by the Ricochet anti-cheat system. The company says the problem “impacted a small number of legitimate player accounts,” and all accounts affected were restored. However, zebleer, who runs the Phantom Overlay store selling cheats, claims the problem is much bigger than Activision's post makes it seem. In a detailed post on X, they write that when Ricochet scanned the memory of a player's computer to find known cheat software, one of the signatures it scanned for was a plaintext string reading: 54 72 69 67 67 65 72 20 42 6f 74 (Trigger Bot) As a result, zebleer says that “for quite some time,” it has been possible to get someone permanently banned simply by sending them a friend request with the phrase or posting a message like “Nice Trigger Bot dude!” in the game's chat since it would then show up in their memory and get scanned by Ricochet. ======================================= My other podcast https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKpvBEElSl1dD72Y5gtepkw ************************************************** Something Strange https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRjVc2TZqN4&t=4s ************************************************** article links: https://www.wired.com/story/uk-considers-new-smartphone-bans-for-children/ ====================================== Today is for push-ups and Programming and I am all done doing push-ups Discord https://discord.gg/MYvNgYYFxq TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@strangestcoder Youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCe9xwdRW2D7RYwlp6pRGOvQ?sub_confirmation=1 Twitch https://www.twitch.tv/CodingWithStrangers Twitter https://twitter.com/strangestcoder merch Support CodingWithStrangers IRL by purchasing some merch. Welcome to episode #192 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! Our final review of MWIII is here! After months of putting in countless hours in all parts of the game, we give our comprehensive breakdown and review of this year's Call Of Duty. From the campaign, to zombies, and of course multiplayer and ranked, we cover each part of the game and discuss how it stacks up overall and compared to last year's game. We share our opinions on each part of the game, and also ask the question if this really is an improvement from MWII, or is it really just a $70 DLC. Finally, we end with our scores for the game as a whole, and ask you to share your thoughts and rating of the game overall! We close this season of the COD Casuals as we now go into Black Ops 6, and are beyond excited to start off strong! What would you rate MWIII 1-10? Do you agree with our points not? If so, explain. What was the strongest point and the weakest point of this game, and what could have been done to make this game better? Please let us know as we discuss this and much more! Hope you all enjoy the episode and we'll see you next week with Black Ops 6! After weeks of breathless speculation, Xbox unveiled some relatively minor details about the multiplatform future vision of the brand, which prompts us to have an in-depth conversation about where Xbox is going and why the current strategy feels at odds with their oft-stated long-term goals. We also discuss Marvel's unveiling of their new Fantastic Four cast, Jonathan talks about watching Solo Leveling and playing Modern Warfare III, and we conclude with a check-in on the giant JRPGs we're both playing, Persona 3 Reload and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Layoffs at Bungie are just the latest in a line of labor issues for PlayStation and its studios in recent months, but as usual, there's great dissonance afoot. Consider this: PS5 is selling briskly, Spider-Man 2 is a critical and commercial smash-hit, and high demand for Sony's product persists as we enter the generation's fourth year. So how can the day-to-day news be so bad when the end result is so positive? Between employee tribulation, an exiting CEO, a fired legendary producer, and more, just what's going on behind-the-scenes, anyway? Are Sony's hard-earned years of goodwill evaporating? Other news this week includes word of a fresh PlayStation 5/Modern Warfare III bundle (and peculiarity about the game's Trophies), rumors of an expansion for God of War: Ragnarok, vague updates on SEGA's mega-expensive so-called 'Super Game,' and more. Listener inquiries end our show, as always. Is 2023 an unusually good industry year specifically because of COVID delays? Would Sony ever put PlayStation Stars on PS5? What does the future hold for Capcom's behemoth Resident Evil franchise? Will Chris get a vanity license plate that reads SACRDBOY? Head to https://www.tryfum.com/SACRED and use code SACRED to save an additional 10% off your order today. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
