Send us a textThe prodigal map returns! After three long years of increasingly frustrating updates that drove away casual players, Call of Duty Warzone has finally listened to its community by bringing back Verdansk – and it might just be the game's saving grace.Stepping back into the familiar terrain feels like rediscovering an old favorite book. The buildings, sightlines, and strategic positioning that made the original Warzone so captivating are all here, but with thoughtful improvements that address previous shortcomings. The addition of natural cover throughout previously exposed areas, swimmable water bodies, and a refined loot system create a more balanced experience without sacrificing what made Verdansk special in the first place. For casual players who might only get a few hours of gameplay each week, this update represents a significant win. The return of map knowledge as a competitive advantage means that even if you can't dedicate eight hours daily to mastering movement mechanics, you can still leverage your familiarity with the environment to outsmart opponents. The one-shot headshot capability of sniper rifles has returned, vehicles can once again be countered effectively with explosives, and the original Gulag provides a balanced 1v1 environment that feels fair for both competitors.Perhaps most importantly, this update strikes the right balance between nostalgia and innovation. Rather than simply repackaging old content, Activision has carefully integrated modern improvements while maintaining the core experience that made Warzone a phenomenon in the first place. The floating loot visualization, progressive ground loot quality throughout match phases, and subtle terrain adjustments all enhance gameplay without fundamentally changing what worked. If you've been away from Warzone due to frustration with previous updates, now might be the perfect time to drop back in. The learning curve is significantly reduced for returning players, and the more balanced gameplay creates opportunities for both tactical play and high-octane action. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or a curious newcomer, Verdansk's return offers the most accessible and enjoyable Warzone experience in years.Support the show

Did y'all catch that Daredevil Born Again finale? Cause that was pretty damn good. Everyone in the industry comments on the Switch 2, Xbox has some leaks, and and CD Projekt Red is fighting rumors. Plus Ubisoft is trying to say we dont own our games???? Meanwhile HBO confirms some of its Harry Potter Cast, The Oscars finally are going to recognize Stunts, and Star Wars is getting a different kind of re-release.
In today's Daily Fix:Sony is raising the price of select models of the PS5 in several regions, except the U.S. This is likely to counter the expected U.S. tariffs that could his the gaming industry hard in the coming months. The U.S. is the PS5's largest territory and Sony would want to protect the region from rising costs, but that means making up the difference elsewhere. In other news, Call of Duty: Warzone received a shot in the arm as the original Verdansk map has proven to be a hit with fans. The game saw a spike in concurrent players and positive feedback, and Activision has teased more Verdansk-related content in the future. And speaking of shots in the arm, Assassin's Creed Shadows is proving to be the boost that Ubisoft has needed. While it's not the franchise's biggest launch ever, it is currently the second-best-selling game of the year, behind Capcom's Monster Hunter Wilds. The game also saw two million players in its first weekend, and strong reviews from critics and longtime fans.

Hey Strangers, #blackops #cheating #gaming Activision says it has “disabled a workaround to a detection system” in Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Warzone that led to legitimate players getting banned by the Ricochet anti-cheat system. The company says the problem “impacted a small number of legitimate player accounts,” and all accounts affected were restored. However, zebleer, who runs the Phantom Overlay store selling cheats, claims the problem is much bigger than Activision's post makes it seem. In a detailed post on X, they write that when Ricochet scanned the memory of a player's computer to find known cheat software, one of the signatures it scanned for was a plaintext string reading: 54 72 69 67 67 65 72 20 42 6f 74 (Trigger Bot) As a result, zebleer says that “for quite some time,” it has been possible to get someone permanently banned simply by sending them a friend request with the phrase or posting a message like “Nice Trigger Bot dude!” in the game's chat since it would then show up in their memory and get scanned by Ricochet. ======================================= My other podcast https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKpvBEElSl1dD72Y5gtepkw ************************************************** Something Strange https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRjVc2TZqN4&t=4s ************************************************** article links: https://www.wired.com/story/uk-considers-new-smartphone-bans-for-children/ ====================================== Today is for push-ups and Programming and I am all done doing push-ups Discord https://discord.gg/MYvNgYYFxq TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@strangestcoder Youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCe9xwdRW2D7RYwlp6pRGOvQ?sub_confirmation=1 Twitch https://www.twitch.tv/CodingWithStrangers Twitter https://twitter.com/strangestcoder merch Support CodingWithStrangers IRL by purchasing some merch.
