In today's Daily Fix:Fresh off the success of the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater remake, Konami is polling fans (Japan for now) for their thoughts on the next Metal Gear remake. The poll includes the original two Metal Gear games from the '80s, and the remaining Metal Gear Solid console games, including Peacewalker. We're running our own poll at IGN.com, so let us know which Metal Gear game deserves the remake treatment. In other news, more details about the cancelled Perfect Dark reboot have emerged, and at one point, the developers were considering making it an episodic game. Unfortunately, we'll never know how that would've turned out because developer The Initiative has been shuttered and the project canned earlier this year. And finally, there's one Borderlands 4 bug that fans DON'T want patched out: a 'cricket jumping' glitch that lets players skip large sections of the map.

As the clock ticks down toward the looming release of Hollow Knight Silksong, we say goodbye to a bygone era. Strangely enough, that era ends with us revisiting three established franchises with vastly different approaches to modernization. Nick and Chris Davis talk about the impressive - but slightly unambitious - remake, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and Brad delves into Shinobi: Art of Vengeance which has reinvented the franchise with a shift of genre and a beautiful new coat of paint. Meanwhile, Krispy declares No Man's Sky: Voyagers to be the ultimate expansion which softens the barrier-to-entry and out Starfield's Starfield. Cardy, Matt, and Dale are here to talk about some sneaky boys. 007 First Light is the new James Bond game, and we've got plenty of thoughts about how it's looking. Then there's Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater; a remake of a great game, but is it the one we wanted? And then there's Bloober Team's latest survival horror Cronos: The New Dawn which sounds mostly miserable, but still fun. "What a thrill." Holy reference, Gameland. This week, we delve into the opening mission of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, a modern update to Hideo Kojima's 2004 PS2 Classic, Metal Gear Solid 3. We go in depth with the Virtuous Mission and what sets this new version apart from the original - namely, control schemes and graphics. The timeless tale of Big Boss returns, and new players get the benefit of starting at the beginning of a series full of complicated twists and turns. We've also got a reaction to Call of Duty reversing the carry-over decision for Black Ops 7, some thoughts on Gorillaz finally being in Fortnite Festival, and some Pokemon Drip that doesn't match the type! It's his birthday, so we're letting TL take over the wheel -- or the cockpit, as it were -- to walk us through a retrospective of sorts about the various genres of mech video games, inspired by this week's release of Super Robot Wars Y. From fighters to tactical RPGs and everything in between, if you like games about giant robots you pilot and punch things with, this top 5 is for you. After that, we cover the other new releases this week, Shinobi: Art of Vengeance and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, then offer up a few more thoughts on things we've been playing like Sword of the Sea, Mafia: The Old Country, and Death Stranding 2. Question of the Week: Which famous mech from pop culture would win in an ultimate mech battle royale and why? Break Song is "When the Mechs Hit the Ground" by NerdOut Vidjagame Apocalypse theme by Matthew Joseph Payne.
Hey, everybody! Kristen, Tim, and O'Dell are back this week to discuss taking up the mantle of Big Boss in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, soul surfing in Sword of the Sea, the biggest news stories of the week, and more.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is out and Sean's spent some time with that. He also finished Hollow Knight and tried out Kill the Brickman. Paul continues to play random Metroid games. Claire is away at PAX West. During news we discuss several indie titles getting out of the way of Silksong, Atari buying some odd Ubisoft IP, and Skate gets an early access launch date.
