Welcome to Dev Game Club, where this week we begin a new series on 1997's Interstate '76. We set the game a bit in its time, talk about Activision (almost as an afterthought), and then start getting into the characters and the vibe, of which there is much. Dev Game Club looks at classic video games and plays through them over several episodes, providing commentary. Sections played: Early mission or two Issues covered: a game time forgot, playing a sim game genre, a unique take on the sim genre plus car combat, prepping the sim elements vs the actual play, other games from that year, taking a formula and doing something different with it, modern exploitation-inspired games, exploitation cinema, grindhouse, other potential influences and inspirations, why you pick sparse environments, breakable cacti, a huge variety of games, low-cost film-making and democratization, vigilantes, a bland corporation, text adventures, a business and not a game company, seeing the impact of acquisition or mergers, character introductions, fake actors playing characters, character names, Groove Champion vs Stiletto Anyway, stylized and simplified characters, flat shading and seeing every polygon, connecting to the character in the cockpit and via the radio, naturally cinematic, stylized presence, jitteriness and physics, compounding errors, deterministic physics, preserving this game and finding ways to play it, just shipping a game, dealing with a controller vs keyboard. Welcome to episode #198 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! In this episode, we cover our initial thoughts on ranked play in Black Ops 6, as it has been released earlier than it ever has in previous titles, and we have lots to say. Overall, the experience for us has been fantastic. We share our opinions on the state of ranked from our perspective, but also discuss the biggest problem plaguing ranked play at the moment: hackers. This has been an ongoing issue over the years, and as of now, it is not improving. Many believe this will be the make or break for ranked, and we give our thoughts on the matter, and discuss what Treyarch and Activision need to do to have ranked be the biggest success it possibly can be. What are your first impressions of ranked? Do you enjoy the maps/modes, or do you think more guns and different maps should be added? What current rank are you? Have you experienced any hackers yet, and if so how bad has it been? Please let us know as we discuss this and much more! Hope you all enjoy the episode and we'll see you next week. Welcome to another thrilling episode of Game Pass Grab Bag! This week, we dive deep into the latest release from Treyarch, Call of Duty Black Ops 6. Join Andrew, Keith, and returning guest Aaron as they explore the dynamic world of first-person shooters, offering their unique perspectives on the campaign, zombies, and multiplayer modes. Andrew, the double agent of the group, is pleasantly surprised by the depth and thoughtfulness of the Black Ops 6 campaign, which brings a mix of espionage and blockbuster action. Keith, our sleepy agent, finds himself captivated by the invigorated Call of Duty experience, particularly enjoying the innovative mission designs that deviate from the typical run-and-gun formula. Meanwhile, Aaron, the conspiracy theorist, is hooked on the zombies mode, appreciating its return to classic form and the engaging multiplayer experience. Tune in to hear their thoughts on the game's storytelling, the intriguing mission structures, and the overall excitement surrounding this massive success for Microsoft and Activision. Whether you're a fan of the campaign, zombies, or multiplayer, this episode will give you an in-depth look at what makes Call of Duty Black Ops 6 a must-play title in the Game Pass collection. Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is here! We never thought we'd have a Call of Duty game on this podcast again, but Treyarch and the other teams behind this game outdid themselves. Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is the full package. The campaign is solid, the multiplayer is super addicting and the zombies mode is a blast. Best of all? This is all available on Xbox Game Pass.We also dig into Alan Wake 2's new DLC called The Lakehouse. This one follows a Federal Bureau of Control agent through The Lakehouse. Jason played this game and shares his thoughts of this creepy return to the Alan Wake world. Brett plays Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Bioware returns with a different art style, a more linear world and several gameplay changes that provide a differnet, but fun direction for the game. Is this the best Dragon Age ever? Maybe not. Is this a great game? It definitely is. Despite the sometimes poor script, the gameplay is great, the world is gorgeous and the game plays better than any game in recent years. We also get our hands on Deadlock, the 3rd person MOBA from Valve. This game is incredibly well designed bringing all the best of MOBA's with a true hero shooter twist. We can't wait to get our hands on the full release.Lastly, Austin dove back into Tears of the Kingdom. In this, he highlights the well-designed starting area. Tutorials are varied in our games and sometimes hold your hand too much or are too annoying you want to ignore them. This tutorial does it just right having you discover as you play. You can follow their Kickstarter here when it goes live or wishlist it on Steam.Show Notes:1:14 - Housekeeping2:36 - Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Early Review35:22 - Alan Wake 2 The Lakehouse DLC48:05 - Dragon Age: The Veilguard Early Review1:21:39 - Deadlock: A Fun Twist on the MOBA from Valve1:37:24 - Tears of The Kingdom 1 Year Later: A Masterclass in Starting Zones1:57:46 - Upcoming Video Game Releases Become a part of the conversation! Welcome to episode #193 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! The wait is finally over, as Black Ops 6 has officially launched! We have been playing nonstop since its release, and are beyond excited to share our experience with the game so far. We cover our first impressions on all aspects of the game. From the maps, to the guns and prestige, we give our opinion on what we think of the game overall from day one. Lots of discussion has been about the quality of the maps, and whether they live up to the hype that has been associated with Treyarch maps. We go over the maps, and what we think is the best move going forward for both casual and competitive for map rotation. Finally, we close with some tweaks we would like to see going forward, and share our excitement to start up the campaign and zombies mode. What do you think of Black Ops 6 so far? Are you a fan of the new maps and weapons? Do you agree with the thought that these maps aren't good, or do you like all of them? What is your go-to weapon currently, and what level are you right now? Please let us know as we discuss this and much more! Hope you all enjoy the episode and we'll see you next week. Welcome to episode #190 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! In this episode, we share our woes and struggles with closing out season 6 and MWIII altogether. We are in the final stretch of hitting the max level, and giving ourselves some much needed time to relax before starting up Black Ops 6. We are preparing for our end of year review with MWIII, and will have much to say regarding gameplay, maps, and overall fatigue. We share some thoughts as we come to the end of the game, and also some ideas that hopefully Treyarch uses to help reward those who make it to the end, as we share our annoyances with the lack of rewards for the long grind. We close with some CDL talk, as some big rumors have been confirmed, leaving big questions for the bottom teams. We share our opinions on these confirmed moves, and our predictions for other teams. Do you agree that there aren't enough awards and incentives to grind to the end of COD in recent years? What do you think should be given as a reward for hitting max level? Not a good week for live service hero shooters. This week, we return to the Black Ops 6 beta for some more thoughts on maps and modes as Treyarch returns to the Call of Duty franchise. We're also looking at the in and outs of Gato Roboto, Doinksoft and Devolver's "mini Metroidvania" full of charm and classic tropes. We've got a glimpse at the Switch port of Pizza Tower here, as well. And then there's the topic of the hour, the fate of Concord, a game which lasted two weeks after its long, long development. Check us out on X and BlueSky @MarkersOnTheMap.

Two Pinocchio stories this week, one about a horror movie, the other, the return of Ultron. Its the week after Gamescom, so that means its time for Call of Duty news! Plus Nintendo decided to have a direct and not talk about the Switch's successor. Sony bombs out with their latest games as a service, and Lionsgate debuts their 2nd flop of the summer. Meanwhile Ted Lasso is gearing up for a new season on the pitch, and Tarantino takes a phaser to his chances of directing a Star Trek.
We are back, and this time...on time. Tango Gameworks has been saved, and so has Hi-Fi Rush! as the PUBG owners swoop in to save it, Borderlands fails to find loot at the box office, and Strauss Zelnick has a lot to say about the game industry. Meanwhile, Kit Harrington opens up about GoT and Marvel. Disney brings the smoke at D23, and Paramount is diving off its peak. That and More, come take a listen.
We're back from vacation, folks! The off season is here with the exception of EWC this week! We're yapping about our gaming catalog as of late, and where it is going in the future. I didn't end up going as hard as I planned to on 2-Boxing or VPNing, but that will probably be coming back in a future episode. Plain and simple, if you're doing either and making a living off of content, be grateful while it lasts & have a back-up plan because you're a joke if you think you're a "good" player. Have some pride. At least TRY and cover it up! The preview of BO6: Zombies was UNREAL. We cannot wait to sink our teeth into what the fine folks at Treyarch have been cooking up! As always, the world is a much better place with you in it. No matter the walk of life, if friends are hard to find in person, you always have two in Kyle and I here at CoD Logic. We break down everything that we saw and give our thoughts on each main point, as well as open some discussions if the steps Treyarch is taking will change COD forever, or simply be a one-off. We share our thoughts on this discussion, as well as what we hope to see from Black Ops 6 before we get the beta which is at the end of this month. What did you think of the Black Ops 6 leaks? Did anything stand out to you? Is this a COD that old fans should make a return for, or is it going to be more of the same? Please let us know as we discuss this and much more! In this episode of TheChatGPTReport, RYAN GETS MAD, then we explore some notable updates and controversies from the tech world. We begin by discussing the backlash against Treyarch for their recent job posting requiring AI skills for a 2D artist/animator role. This stirs up broader concerns about AI replacing jobs and infringing on intellectual property rights within the gaming community, particularly among Call of Duty fans. Next, we dive into Amazon's latest venture, the enterprise AI assistant named Q, alongside its supplementary tools aimed at developers and businesses. We'll provide a measured outlook on these new offerings, keeping expectations in check until more is revealed. Our creator of the week is Gizem Akdag, who impresses with a character design sheet of Elon Musk, showcasing her unique artistic talents. We also cover OpenAI's introduction of Sora, their text-to-video generator, which despite initial excitement, faces scrutiny over undisclosed post-production edits, raising questions about the authenticity of automated media. Finally, we review the much-anticipated 'Rabbit' product, drawing comparisons to the Humane AI pin, and discuss the realistic usefulness of such devices compared to traditional smartphones. With expert opinions and user reviews pointing towards a lackluster performance, we speculate on the future viability of these AI-driven gadgets in an increasingly competitive market. Tune in for an insightful discussion on the latest tech trends, creator highlights, and product reviews that shape our digital landscape.
April Fools! Hope Everyone enjoyed their joke filled holiday! This Week we have a Kaiju filled review for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, plus more layoffs hit the gaming industry, in what feels like a death march towards self implosion. Also Xbox wants to bring AI to your support page, and Saber Interactive assures us the KoToR remake is "alive and well". Also WarnerBros wants to poison us with another Matrix movie, Christopher Nolan becomes a Sir and Sam Raimi is practically begging for The Secret Wars directing job. Plus a hell of a lot more!
