--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/labischita/message
Evolution is essential for songwriters. As we continue to develop our craft and explore new opportunities, we grow and expand our horizons. I'm delighted to share an outstanding conversation with Tudor Nacu about the songwriter's evolution. The quote for this episode is by Matt Dillon: “One of my greatest fears is not being able to change, to be caught in a never-ending cycle of sameness. Growth is so important.” Tudor and I had such a fabulous conversation about how we've evolved as songwriters. We talk about stepping out of our comfort zones and exploring new things to avoid our music sounding the same, how we expanded our styles, the importance of listening to various genres, the evolution of our songwriting processes, songwriting takeaways, the benefits of writing to deadlines, and more. I absolutely love my conversation with Tudor, and I hope you enjoy it. Are you enjoying Write on Track? Do you have a topic suggestion for an episode? Would you like to be a guest? NACU teams up again with David Finegold, president of Chatham University and creator of The Future of Higher Education podcast. In this episode, David speaks with legendary educational entrepreneur John Katzman, founder of the Princeton Review, 2U, and, most recently, Noodle. Katzman shares his perspective on three key issues in higher education: 1) strategies that small private and regional public institutions can use to thrive in the coming “birth dearth;” 2) ways to address college affordability and rethink pricing; and 3) a new non-profit start-up he is forming to disrupt the college admissions process.
In the first of a two part series, the tables are turned. Chatham University President David Finegold interviews NACU President Sean Creighton. What was Sean doing before he came to NACU? What is his connection to the late Ernest Boyer? And why are they called the New American Colleges & Universities anyway?
Sean Creighton, the President of New American Colleges & Universities, discusses the origins and evolution of this Association that serves 24 institutions that each combine an undergraduate liberal arts core with a range of professional programs. He describes the distinctive role that NACU members play within the US higher ed system and the different services that the Association provides for its members. In Part II, Sean interviews David Finegold for the NACU podcast, discussing his recent visit to Chatham, one of the newest NACU members. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

A., Stevens, B. Abstract: Schizophrenia risk is associated with increased gene copy number and brain expression of complement component 4 (C4). Because the complement system facilitates synaptic pruning, the C4 association has renewed interest in a hypothesis that excessive pruning contributes to schizophrenia pathogenesis. However, little is known about complement regulation in neural tissues or whether such regulation could be relevant to psychiatric illness. Intriguingly, common variation within CSMD1, which encodes a putative complement inhibitor, has consistently associated with schizophrenia at genome-wide significance. We found that Csmd1 is predominantly expressed in the brain by neurons, and is enriched at synapses; that human stem cell-derived neurons lacking CSMD1 are more vulnerable to complement deposition; and that mice lacking Csmd1 have increased brain complement activity, fewer synapses, aberrant complement-dependent development of a neural circuit, and synaptic elements that are preferentially engulfed by cultured microglia. These data suggest that CSMD1 opposes the complement cascade in neural tissues. Copy rights belong to original authors. Visit the link for more info

Northern Kentucky University’s Nurse Advocacy Center for the Underserved, or NACU, actually does more than its name implies. The program not only advocates for poor and underserved populations throughout Cincinnati and northern Kentucky, but each year it also provides vaccines, direct aid, and nursing care to hundreds of people who desperately need it. Here our guests discuss the dramatic impact that NACU has on people like Keisha Owens and others in the Brighton Recovery Center for Women, as well as homeless and underprivileged people across the region. As we approach the holidays, this is truly an episode you don’t want to miss—an amazing story of sacrifice, compassion, and the emotional bonds that are formed between nurses, students, and the populations they serve.

Música: Antony Raijekov Twitter:@sibarispodcast Mail:sibarispodcast@me.com
