On 11th October 2011, some residents of Brgy Putho-Tuntungin in Los Baños, Laguna woke up to a horrible discovery in one of their canals. It was the body of a young woman who seemed to have been murdered only a few hours before. This discovery would send shockwaves all throughout the municipality of Los Baños, best known for the University of Los Baños, a top state university that sits in an open campus, embedded in the local community.Listen to this episode now to learn more about Given Grace Cebanico whose case became a case that made people think twice about student safety at higher education institutions. The Given Grace Academic Excellence Foundation Facebook link is here. The sources list is here.Support me:https://www.buymeacoffee.com/juzewobaLAGIM is on social media, so make sure to check me out:https://www.instagram.com/lagimpodcast/https://twitter.com/LagimPodhttps://facebook.com/lagimpodcast/https://www.tiktok.com/@lagimpodcastSubscribe to LAGIM's YouTube channel:https://bit.ly/3rFdWCgFollow, rate and review LAGIM on Apple Podcasts and Spotify:https://spoti.fi/3qamBxlhttps://apple.co/3r3XjzT

Why do people avoid certain circumstances? Let's try to talk about it on this session and how can we try to overcome these things.
It's been a long while since I last uploaded an episode for you guys, but I hope you're all doing well. This episode is my proof of life, having been MIA and just being so busy these past 2-3 months. Also, this is a sort of self-reflection now that I am celebrating yet another birthday. Cheers to another year of life! Please listen to the episode as I expound more on these realizations/learnings. But here's the complete list, for your reference. Things I learned in life, thus far:1. Life is short.2. Let go of things you cannot control.3. Be kind (to others and to yourself).4. Celebrate small victories.5. Be genuine in your interactions.6. Be honest with yourself.7. Stop comparing.8. There's not always a correct answer.9. Not every one needs to know your business.10. Think before - you act, speak, click
Got the time to ask my parents to join the session and discuss about the word “Pasensya” and on what it takes if you have it.
Hi there! I hope you are doing well.I am sharing with you this episode, which focuses on my Top 3 takeaways from Andrea Owen's book entitled, How to Stop Feeling Like Sh*tI honestly have more I want to share about the book, but I want to delve into it in separate episodes so I hope you watch out for that. For now, I am giving you a totally impromptu, top of my mind takeaways from my read. I'm sure you all can relate to it. ;)Also, this will be part of a new series on WHY YOU SHOULD READ/WATCH... I am going to focus more on books for now, since I am spending most of my time reading these days. These are books that I want to share with you, books that I usually post on my booklist account (IG: @kristinesbooklist). This will allow me the space to provide more insights-the ones I cannot compress in the captions section, hahaha.Affiliate link for Lazada 4.4:Ottogi Honey Ginger Tea: http://podlink.co/4usDon't forget to follow and subscribe:Instragram: @kristinesvoicethepodcastFacebook: Kristine's Voice: The PodcastYoutube: Kristine's Voice: The PodcastMusic credit: Megaenx - Closer (did you notice our new intro?)Support the show (https://paypal.me/kristinecambay?locale.x=en_US)
This episode springs from a realization I have had earlier today, and it's something I want to share with you in more detail.I never really thought of the 5 love languages as in terms of self-care. In my mind, it's always directed outwards: for family, for friends, for others. After reading the article (link down below), I can say I have, recently, done all (receiving gifts and quality time both at the top) except give myself words of affirmation. I don't know why that is exactly but, perhaps I'm just not used to it?A friend once said to me that I easily give compliments—primarily voicing out what I find good and nice first, while others hurry to criticize. I didn't think much of it then. But now I realized these words of affirmation and encouragement—something so simple, something I allow myself to easily give to others—are things I rarely let myself have. With this realization, I encourage you to encourage yourself.I have also left FIVE important words of affirmation within this episode. A little something for you to listen to in case you haven't yet given yourself some words of encouragement today.I really hope you enjoy this episode, and I'll see you again soon!*This episode is also available on video. This week, I am joined by talented voiceover artist John Gusayko, or Kuya VC as I call him. He is one of the younger Filipino voiceover artists I look up to, ever since meeting him during my Voiceworx Workshop back in 2018. In this episode, he takes us back to his journey which began from the BPO industry to now voiceover artist. He also shares with us valuable insights on things like work/career hustle, grit, dealing with rejection, finding your voice, and nurturing your talent. This episode is so important to me because I am also an aspiring voice artist. As you listen to this episode, keep in mind that it's not just you who is learning from Kuya VC, but I am too. Please also check and follow John Gusayko on his social media accounts:- Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter: @Vii.1786- Youtube: John GusaykoMusic credit: MegaEnx - CloserSupport the show (https://paypal.me/kristinecambay?locale.x=en_US)
For this week's episode I get to chat with one of my real-life role models, Ate Missy. I've known her for many years now but this will be the first time we'll have a conversation on camera. Ate Missy is a champion of work-life balance. This is one of the things I admire about her, that she can handle many things at once and strike a much-needed balance. Also, she has recently started her own business, which she will talk to us about in this episode.Ate Missy shares to us what it means to be an entrepreneur at present, especially with the pandemic that's going on. I hope we all learn something from this short, but insightful episode. Please also follow and check out her new business: MJ & Co. on Facebook and @mj_co.ph on Instagram.Music credit: MegaEnx - CloserSupport the show (https://paypal.me/kristinecambay?locale.x=en_US)
Hi everyone! Happy Thanksgiving to all our friends in the US!! Thanksgiving reminds me a lot of my roommate (who was from the US) and a few friends from Chiang Mai, Thailand . In 2015, I went there for an exchange program for one whole semester and found a sister & friend in my roommate, Mildred. It was through her that I was able to celebrate my first ever thanksgiving. Well, it was just us and a few friends having dinner, announcing what it was we were grateful for. It couldn't be more perfect. The small thanksgiving celebration we had made its mark on me, and it made me realize that there may be events/things/situations I disliked during the year, but I also have a lot to be thankful for. That life may be difficult, but it certainly is not all bad. It's like learning how to find the blessing out of every situation--the silver lining, and being thankful for what life has to offer. This episode I am joined by my boyfriend, Jorenz, as we have a short conversation about the things we are thankful for. This year has been very challenging and a lot has happened so unexpectedly we have little time to process anything. This episode is our small avenue to reflect and, basically, verbalize our thoughts. Please join us by sharing some of the things you are grateful for. Remember, gratitude knows no time and place. You just have to acknowledge it, be aware of it, and hopefully pass it onto others.Music credit: MegaEnx - CloserSupport the show (https://paypal.me/kristinecambay?locale.x=en_US)
Recently I've been reading this novel by Holly Bourne entitled "The Places I've Cried in Public". As of recording, I have yet to finish the book. I think I have around 30 pages left, but so far, the story reminded me of several instances from my much younger years about issues related to emotional manipulation and other red flags that almost overstep my personal boundaries. So, for this week's episode, we'll tackle relationship red flags and boundaries. There is no perfect time to discuss this, so we might as well dive into it. I also touch upon the kinds of boundaries as shared by The Holistic Psychologist. In this conversation, there is no one excluded. We all need to set boundaries in order to have healthy relationships.Just a side note, I was so immersed in passionate discussion I got slightly emotional somewhere in the middle. This episode is also available on video . Art is all around us. It comes in different forms. It is a part of our lives. No matter how rigid life sometimes becomes, we can trust art to ground us and remind us that there are wonderful things in life that we can look forward to. This is one of the reasons why I am so honored to have our guest for this week, a promising young artist and also a good friend, Aica Duran. For this week's episode, Aica gives us a glimpse of her life as a freelance artist and shares to us how incredible it is to embrace one's passion for the arts. I, for one, am in awe of her talent to draw and put life into her artworks. Please also give her some love and follow her on Instagram and Twitter: @hiaicasanYou can also contact her for commissioned work, she's announcing it all on her social media pages.I am excited for you to meet her and see get to know her work, even just for this short episode. It's just a short episode so I hope you finish listening to the entire thing. I also share with you three (3) important things about rest that we all need to keep in mind. I hope it helps! Also, this episode is dedicated to one of my good friends, and also a friend of the podcast: Erina :) I miss you dear! This was what you suggested last time, so thank you again. First of all, HAPPY INTERNATIONAL PODCAST DAY! I tried my very best to have at least one episode for September 2020. And, it's just perfect timing that it's a special day to match. Also, it's been quite a long time since I last recorded anything. Despite this episode being quite emotional, I remain earnest with my plea to every one of you out there: STAY HEALTHY AND SAFE. Don't forget to express your love and appreciation for your dear loved ones. Tell them how much they mean to you. And never take anything for granted. Please also continue to pray for my good friend and brother, Indra, and his bereaved family.Music Credit: MegaEnx - CloserSupport the show (https://paypal.me/kristinecambay?locale.x=en_US)
Feeling tired? Let’s get some air and talk about how we can get fresh air in this time of pandemic!
Was there any point in your life when you genuinely thought that you are not good enough? Or maybe there's something you've always wanted to do, but have always felt that it's so difficult and you're never gonna learn it... So, in the end, you reject the entire idea and just quit before you even started? Do you feel averse to change?Well, you may answer no to any (or all) of these questions, but let's not lie to ourselves. It's not good for us, anyway. So, my answer is YES. A big, fat YES!! For example, someone from my school once said I am not a dancer so I should refrain from participating in any dance-related activity, and just focus on what I normally do instead: singing. It sucked because I loved watching people dance and I also want to give it a try. These kinds of scenarios are all around us, and they're there for the longest time. We just maybe forgot about them or buried them deep within us.Let's talk about it in this episode. I hope to let you see what having a fixed mindset is doing to your confidence, your character, and your passions in life. And also to find out if: do you have a Growth Mindset?Music credit: MegaEnx - CloserSupport the show (https://paypal.me/kristinecambay?locale.x=en_US)
This is just a quick, kinda impromptu recording, so excuse my shaky, airy voice (my sinuses are not yet that clear, so I am a little breathy) but I am happy to share this episode with you. Some friendships work and last many years, while others end up failing. Recently, I am reminded of a friendship I lost years ago due to our differences. Reminiscing about it made me come up with a few realizations that I think I am now ready to share. Music credit: MegaEnx - CloserSupport the show (https://paypal.me/kristinecambay?locale.x=en_US)
It’s hard to figure out what it’s gonna be in the upcoming days - Tomorrow is blurry and uncertain. Join me today and let’s talk about our future!
"In these uncertain and trying times, how do we cope?" This is the question I ask as Metro Manila reverts back to its MECQ (modified enhanced community quarantine) status and there seems to be more uncertainty ahead than ever before. Armed with the wisdom of Pema Chodron, with her 2002 book "Comfortable with Uncertainty: 108 Teachings on Cultivating Fearlessness and Compassion", allow me to share with you my takeaways and realizations in order for us to manage life's many uncertainties. After reading the book, I compiled my notes and identified five (5) ways on how we can deal with uncertainty. Given it a listen and let me know what you think. Also, I hope it helps you, as it did to me, even in a small way.Music Credit: MegaEnx - CloserSupport the show (https://paypal.me/kristinecambay?locale.x=en_US)
I did not expect the "So you want to start a podcast?" episode to be a full three-part series. But no complaints here. :) I'm just happy to be able to share with you what I know, and hopefully you'll find it useful. This began with practical tips on when you finally start your podcast channel. Then followed by how you can prepare for your podcast episodes. Now, we come full circle and talk about some post-production tips.To be honest, I don't have a lot to share about post-prod because I really don't edit a lot as I find it time-consuming, but there are some things I can share with you - some important details you might need to take note of after you record your episode. Also, after the tips you'll find a list of some useful apps/softwares/websites which might be of help as you navigate through your after-recording phase. There is also an added bonus to Ep43. Do check it out!Music Credit: MegaEnx - CloserSupport the show (https://paypal.me/kristinecambay?locale.x=en_US)
I clearly gave effort for Ep43 with my flashcards and notes, but there's still some things that I forgot. Sorry! But hey, a bonus isn't that bad. I'd still give you the things I missed, hahaha. Here you go. This is just a short addition to the episode on post-production and some useful apps/websites that might be helpful as you navigate through your new podcast channel. If you are finally taking the leap into the world of podcasting, congratulations and welcome! I hope you enjoyed the process on how you got to this moment, and just have fun moving forward!Support the show (https://paypal.me/kristinecambay?locale.x=en_US)
Earlier this week I received a message from an up and coming podcaster, Ferina of The Millennial Mermaid, asking me about some tips on basically how to prepare oneself for a podcast episode. Since last week's episode tackles starting your podcast and so to maintain momentum, I want to do a part 2 on the topic. This time, I am sharing with you important things you can consider in preparation for your podcast episode. If you are not particularly into podcasting but are a content creator, this episode is also for you. :) Again, I am only sharing information based on my experience. July 23 - the Philippines is now at 74,390 confirmed cases (Department of Health, 2020). Please note that China - where the virus started - has 85,921 as of date. We only have a little over 10,000 left before we reach their number. And... current quarantine measures are becoming less and less strict. It saddens me to say that, unfortunately, it is very likely for us to get to China's number. This is why I am sending this reminder to you. Hopefully you'll listen to it - it's just very short. This is the World Health Organization's general guidelines and advice for the public on how you can protect yourself and others from the spread of COVID-19 (World Health Organization, 2020). This is also a reading practice for me, in a way haha. But in all seriousness, I hope you keep these reminders in mind always. And share them to your loved ones!Support the show (https://paypal.me/kristinecambay?locale.x=en_US)

Practice reading turned useful. ^_^ So I searched the Department of Health's (DOH) general guidelines - the closest version to WHO's advice for the public. This information can also be found on the DOH's COVID-19 website: covid19.healthypilipinas.ph/faqsSana po ay sundin natin palagi ang mga paalala ng DOH at i-share ang mga mahahalagang impormasyon na ito sa ating mga kakilala. A month into the quarantine period I noticed what seems to be an increase in the number of people searching for podcast equipment online. There were queries being posted on various podcasting Facebook groups, and I also had people (even friends) asking me about podcasting -- just what I know, my experience for the past year, and basically, general tips. For me, this is very exciting news as I am happy to know that more and more people are getting into podcasting -- as an art form and as an avenue of expression. Just like how Erina (our guest for Ep40) responded to a friend's need of earsavers, I hope this short episode would help - even in small ways - those who are considering starting a podcast channel. Please note that this is just based on my experience, and I am only sharing information that I know. For this week's episode I had the pleasure of talking to a good friend, Erina, about her craft and passion for crocheting. Her love for the craft has always been a source of inspiration for me, even more so recently, as she turns what some may consider a hobby into a passion project aimed at providing ease and comfort to our frontliners. What started as a 'mask issue' of medical personnel -- how wearing masks for prolonged periods of time can eventually become painful and uncomfortable, has now fueled a community of crocheters to eagerly deliver relief through the use of earsavers. Now, Earsavers for Lifesavers PH continues to grow in number, inspiring many more people to come to the aid of our countless frontliners - both medical and non-medical. It shows how our passions, whatever it may be, can be used to connect with other people, help those in need, and even build communities. You don't want to miss this episode, so stream now! Anxiety is normal every now and then, but today I share with you my experience on anxiety as a podcaster.
Certainly a lot has changed for the past three months, and because of the pandemic, there are many things proving to be beyond our control. This episode may be viewed as complementary to our previous episode on TIME MANAGEMENT, only this would be about ENERGY MANAGEMENT. As we spend more time at home, some activities have blurred altogether and time boundaries seem to fade (quite sadly, if I might add). Instead of focusing on things we can no longer control (time is something we can only manage), the point now is to refocus our energy and be able to control our reactions to things around us. I hope you find this short episode insightful and useful to consider for your daily activities. I use some of these tips too, just so you know. ;) Music credit: MegaEnx - Closer

We've talked about criteria before unfriending, muting, blocking and posting arguments. BOTTOM LINE: Post responsibly and as much as possible, stop doing things that will cause trigger or agitate someones emotion to negativity.

Last week we've set our goals, but why stop there? This week, we'll try to make time for those goals. In between work/school, family/friends, sleep, exercise, your personal /social life, there must be a ton of other things you want to do but don't have the time for? What do you do then? We clearly cannot extend the 24 hours of every day. The best we can do is to manage our time. With tips based on Jim Randel's book, "The Skinny on Time Management" published on 2010, let me walk you through some useful tips and tricks you can apply to improve how you manage your time. In this week's episode, I'll share with you some tips on how you could make your 2020 all the more meaningful and productive, starting with GOAL-SETTING. It is crucial to understand the importance of setting one's goals and identifying necessary steps to take in order to achieve those goals. It is timely for the new year, but goal-setting is not specifically just for this period. It is, generally, about taking charge of your life goals and dreams, at whatever time of the year. But why start later, if you could also start now? ;)Join me and I hope you learn something today!!Music credit: MegaEnx - Closer
Last December 17 we attended the Podcast Network's Podcast PH Meetup and were able to learn a lot from their guest speakers. This episode is a summary of that insightful event. I tried to record immediately after the meet up, and I am hoping to get that surge of energy across to you, my dear listeners. Apologies for the loud audio in the first half of the episode, though. As I was recording on-site, I cannot control the sounds around me. But we managed to still make sense out of our experience, and I hope you enjoy it. Brilliant speakers coming from radio shared their thoughts and views on radio broadcasting versus podcasting. Apart from that, they shared their experiences which we can all learn from. My takeaway: take care of your craft, never give up on what sets your soul on fire, and just keep going, no matter what. Special thanks to my brother, Daniel, and cousin, Tommie (aka dude) for going with me to the event. And also to Ate Marita and Kuya Ruldan. Music Credit: MegaEnx - Closer
It's been a year since I have decided to purue my career here in Singapore. Episode 14 is not a spoiler guys! It is safe for you to listen if you haven't watched the movie yet. These are just the things I've picked up from the movie, Joker. It is a wonderful movie, that I can say.
October 10 is World Mental Health Day and this episode is focusing entirely on how we can better take care of our mental health and overall being. Mental health is real. It is not something we just shake off, get over or sleep on. I hope we can all try to educate ourselves about the growing concerns related to mental health and that we can become that form of encouragement for others who might need our support.Music credit: MegaEnx - Closer
Yeap, I know it's a lousy title but it's really what it is. Hahaha! I, for one, dislike clickbait stuff so I try to describe the contents of my episodes using the title in the best way possible. So, this is a follow up on our pilot episode which was months ago. I still can't believe it! But I promised then that I have another set of more personal questions I found online that you can use to get to know someone better. Also, this episode is a bit short but I still hope you and I can get connected and that we achieve the objective of you getting to know more about me as a person. :) As always, thank you everyone for tuning in and I hope you continue supporting the podcast.
Serious question: If it's family that's making you stressed, where do you draw the line? Should there even be a limit in the first place? I have been quite stressed by some things and other people around me that has led me to ask this question. And I am genuinely asking and have to think about my answer in the process of talking about this topic. There are inputs I have received from kind people online which I also shared in the episode. There are still so many things to learn in life. For me, for now, setting boundaries is one of them. Music credit: MegaEnx - Closer
Hi guys!! Again, a big THANK YOU to all our listeners and followers who've shared their answers to our question from EPISODE 12. Thank you for celebrating with me as we reach quarter one of our podcast! The work required for the past twelve weeks is no joke, as there are a lot of other things I needed to attend to. But you guys keep me going, and I'm looking forward to quarter two and to whatever comes next! So, we are now on our 13th episode and recently I've had my share of disappointments, stress and frustration. And I know we all get this feeling from time to time. We may have different ways of coping with such instances in our lives, but I just want to share with you some of the things I do to bounce back whenever I feel down. There is no one perfect formula or solution to life's many problems, but how you approach the problem makes a ton of difference. So, here's to hoping you maneuver through life's challenges with patience, faith, and grace. :) Music credit: MegaEnx - Closer
As a child, I've always been curious about how the animes I keep on watching on local television have become Tagalized (or translated into Filipino). And over time, this curiosity transitioned into Filipino versions of my favorite Korean dramas. This is when I established a particular interest in voice acting. It's been over a year since I participated in Creativoices Productions' Voiceworx (Basic Voice Acting) Workshop. It ran for 8 weeks and I've had some incredible, unforgettable experiences from the program. As part of an anniversary reflection of sorts, I have this episode I want to share with you where I talk about my experiences and everything that I learned from the workshop. To be honest, being part of Voiceworx Batch 45 has also helped me build confidence in speaking or sharing some of the things I know and have learned over the years from different experiences. This podcast is a part of that confidence. I also want to take this opportunity to invite you to join some of Creativoices Productions' seminars/workshops. Fast forward to 2019 and we are now expecting changes in the business which led me to reflect on what the past two years and 1 1/2 months has been like. Definitely there's stress, and also a few other frustrating moments, but there are also many new lessons I learned, many new discoveries I made about myself and about doing business, and many blessings including the people I encountered whom I am so grateful for.Let me share to you some of my experiences and what I've learned so far. A side note though, there are no two businesses alike. Your experience (or what would be your experience if you are now planning on it) might not be the same as mine. That's okay. We all get to enjoy our own journeys in life. And no matter how small your business, you can still learn a ton of lessons and skills that'll last you a lifetime. Don't be disheartened if things don't go your way. Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn. ^^Music credit: MegaEnx - Closer
