#556 MONSTER MUSIC MONDAY - The episode focuses on reviewing and providing feedback on music submissions from listeners. - Submissions are accepted via the Mike Herrera Podcast Facebook group, where artists can share their YouTube links. - Critiques various aspects of the submitted songs, including production quality, vocal performance, and song structure. - Offers constructive criticism and praise, highlighting both strengths and areas for improvement in each submission. Some Advice and Tactics: Avoid Excessive Auto-Tune - Use auto-tune sparingly and only as an effect. Overuse can detract from the authenticity of the vocal performance, especially in genres like punk rock. Simplify Intros - Keep the intro of your song short and engaging. Long intros or unnecessary samples can cause listeners to lose interest before the main part of the song begins. Focus on Production Quality - Invest time and resources into ensuring high-quality production. Good production can significantly enhance the listening experience and make your music more appealing to a wider audience. Duh! Monster Music Monday Submissions: 1. BEN TROUBLES - BREAK THIS BALL AND CHAIN New submission for Music Monday. Punk Rock from North Carolina, Y'all. Enjoy! 2. OLD TOWN ZERO - GRAPEFRUIT A little side project about getting all my old and new music out. This was me at 19 years young. I'm now 46 and still making silly songs. MxPx back in the day helped me learn guitar as I was figuring out your early years songs. Something fun, not for the fame, but for the enjoyment. Finally in a place in life, putting myself out there to the world. Would love to be able to be featured on Music Monday. 3. LAST CHANCE MARIE - WESTBOROUGH Punk rock band from Bellevue, Ontario. Have been around since 02/2007 with no signs of giving up. Would love your thoughts on our latest track. 4. THE BOY DETECTIVE - UNREALIZED GAINS Submitted by Brandon. No additional information provided. 5. GRUNGE PUNKS - ASHES FOR BREAD Grunge punk from the Fall Blues EP. Grunge Punks is my punk rock heavy music side project. Written and recorded by Aaron Reynolds, mixed and mastered by Jason Wisdom, released by the Charyn Collective. 6. WHAT YOU'RE MADE OF - WHAT DOES MARCUS WALLACE LOOK LIKE A band from Sydney, Australia. All about big sing-alongs and good times. This is an older track of ours, but sums up pretty well what we sound like. 7. LYCHEE CAMP - LET'S GO SURFING Submitted by Joe Markey from Florida. Self-produced music and video, DIY or Die. The kids are supposed to be little versions of us going around town in Tampa and getting into some hoodrat activities, gambling, vandalism, those kinds of cute harmless things. A cover by a band called The Drums. 8. LET ME DOWNS - BROKEN PROMISES Second single from the new Let Me Down's album North by Southwest. New album released January 23 on Felony Records. This sequel to the Tom Morello MC5 episode goes deep on an exploration of the just-released Heavy Lifting LP, along with its producer, the great Bob Ezrin, producer of such classics as Pink Floyd's The Wall, Kiss's Destroyer, and Alice Cooper's Billion Dollar Babies. Here's just some of the many things Bob and I touch on in this podcast: Bob's work as the king of the rock opera, specifically on Lou Reed's Berlin, about which I was able to ask him a question I've been literally waiting to ask since I was 14 years old (this section is only available in The Director's Cut of this episode); The fascinating story of how this record started off as a Wayne Kramer film project and wound up transforming into an MC5 LP; Plus, a deep-dive discussion about the brand-new, yet final MC5 record, Heavy Lifting! 5/15/24 - On today's Good Day Download, Doug, Jai and Producer Bob discuss the latest focus on empty nesters, Florida's recently passed law that Chinese citizens cannot buy land or a home in the state, keeping your devices safe, and the possible/probable TikTok ban and how it could be 'an extinction-level event' for the creator economy. We discuss. A man survived spending 20 minutes underwater after a so-called friend allegedly pushed him into a lake, Northern Gaza is experiencing a 'full-blown famine,' Columbia University has canceled their main commencement ceremony, and a 78-year-old receptionist wins a wrongful termination lawsuit. We discuss that, too. We also celebrate Ag Week, a look at rising egg prices, other Florida news includes the state being the first to ban lab-grown meat, a FL Powerball winner, and a massive recall on Igloo youth bottles due to a possible choking hazard. More conversation includes why the Boy Scouts of America changed its name to Scouting America, a missing toddler was found after 15 hours of searching, Nicolas Cage's son is under investigation for allegedly attacking his mother, and a good news story of how storm chasers rescued a Texas family after a tornado destroyed the home. Today, we take a break from news and politics to catch up with legendary record producer Bob Ezrin! Though many listeners of this program may not know his name, you've certainly heard and enjoyed his work over the past four decades! In addition to having produced some of the most iconic albums and bands in recent times, Ezrin is also a songwriter and musician, climate activist, film, television and theatrical producer and pioneer in digital media. In fact, it's in that world where we first met. He and I were among the first to dabble in internet radio, back in 2000-2001.... We'll talk about our work together at Enigma Digital and worldclassrock.com, plus a new tech event we also worked together on back in 1992! But we spend most of the hour discussing his work producing Alice Cooper, Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel and many others. We'll get back to the news and politics next week. But for today, we'll talk music and history with Bob Ezrin.
Great scott! We're posting a very special throwback episode in honor of November 5th! The day that Doc Brown invented the flux capacitor. Last year, Back to the Future writer and producer Bob Gale graced Ray Harrington with his presence on Ray's previous podcast, Ray Harrington Must Content. We're reposting the episode here in all its glory to celebrate our love for the Back to the Future series (we also argue a bunch about time travel logistics at the beginning of the episode). Original episode description: "Bob Gale makes Content™ with Ray as they discuss all things Back To The Future! The writing process, the small details and easter eggs, making half the movie with a different actor, and a public apology for the Back To The Future Nintendo game! All this and more in a very special episode of Ray Harrington Must Content." Plus, additional thoughts, ideas and speculation on the Dave insider news, his supposed retirement, health issues and much more. If the name Bob Marlette sounds familiar is that you probably have an album he's produced, engineered, mixed, played, on or wrote songs for! He's worked with David Lee Roth on the "DLR Band" album, Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie, Rob Halford, Tracy Chapman, Black Sabbath, Seether, Atreyu and so many others. Darren and Bob talk about how he got started in music, his experiences with so many artists, songrwriting and, of course, working with Dave and John 5 on the "DLR Band" sessions.
Bob Boden knew he wanted to work in game shows from the age of 6. He since worked on shows such as The Price is Right, the $25,000 Pyramid, Card Sharks, Match Game, Press Your Luck and (currently) Funny You Should Ask. Plus 'Fake or Format' and the usual news roundup.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/tv-show-podcast. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

In a career spanning nearly 50 years, Canadian record producer Bob Ezrin has been just as close to the heartbeat of the music as the musicians themselves. He's produced huge albums, like Pink Floyd's The Wall, wrangled some of the most colourful and challenging personalities in classic rock, travelled all over the continent and earned a spot in the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. In that time, he's worked on major records with Lou Reed, U2, Kiss, Nine Inch Nails, Peter Gabriel, Alice Cooper and many more. Ezrin joined host Tom Power in the q studio to take us through the highlights of his unbelievable career, including one of the most notoriously troubled recording sessions ever with Pink Floyd, why his first gig as a producer for Alice Cooper "was like stepping into a Hieronymus Bosch painting," and why he once duct taped Peter Gabriel to a pillar.
