Matt Stucky, chief portfolio manager for equities at Northwestern Mutual Wealth Management, says in the Market Call that scary headlines over higher gas prices, inflation and war haven't created a significant headwind to overcome the solid earnings growth picture. Stucky adds that beyond the earnings results, the economy is benefitting from tax and tariff reductions that are helping to balance out the new concerns; he discusses how a broader growth picture is good for small and mid-cap stocks, why he thinks the financial-services sector was oversold and more. Jeff Corliss, managing director at HighTower Signature Wealth, discusses the behavioral traps and pitfalls that stop well-meaning investors with solid financial plans from achieving their real goals, noting that it's the details more than the markets that derails retirement savings before all of a plan's aims are met. John Cole Scott, president of CEF Advisors and the chairman of the Active Investment Company Alliance, recounts the legacy and the lasting investment legacy of Dr. Mark Mobius, widely considered the father of modern emerging-markets investing. Mobius, who passed away on April 15, was a contemporary and colleague of Sir John Templeton, and spent decades seeking out investments in the farthest reaches of the world; Scott looks at some of the wisdom collected in years of interviews done with George Cole Scott, the founder of The Closed-End Fund Letter.

In this episode, Dave and Andrew explore a concerto for orchestra that achieved great heights by, in the words of its creator Steven Stucky, "standing on the shoulders of those who have already cleared the path ahead." But will our hosts appreciate the view? And who were some of the other nominees this year? We also discuss a rule change within the Pulitzer Prize award process that took effect with this year's winner. Instead of reading the stories, Laura and I interviewed and listened to women who had experienced toxic religion, […]

Hey Pole Dancer, welcome back to Science of Slink, a podcast dedicated to research of exercise, healing, and body image. Today we are joined by Dr.Melanie Stucky, Researcher - Performance and Social at École Nationale de Cirque. Dr. Stucky recently published the paper Four Domains for Development for All (4D4D4All): A Holistic, Physical Literacy Framework. (source and link below) this paper talks about the division and interconnectedness of 4 domains: creative, psychological, social, and physical development. These 4 domains are important components of physical literacy because they help us learn movement and have the highest potential to build our confidence when used correctly. This framework is meant to help define the most important aspects of creating an empowering culture in a studio and in our practice. We also looked into the Contexts which is the outer influence of the domains. These contexts are physical, social, and movement. Physical context is the environment you are in, this can be where you live and the set of tools you need to achieve your movement. Social context touches on culture, social norms, injustices, and in general, things affecting us more emotionally and mentally. You can find Melanie on Instagram @melirene13 and @thevolairlife Slink Through Strength Email Sign Up: http://eepurl.com/iimjnX Join pole instructor & personal trainer Rosy Boa as she chats with experts about the evidence-based practices you can introduce to your pole journey to improve your pole journey and feel better. There's risk, and the faith that pushes you to take it. There's challenge, and critical thinking and intentional action that allows you to overcome. For Gordon Stucky and Kevin Yon, their work as first-generation Angus breeders has been studded with risk, faith, thought and action. In this episode, they give advice and discuss current trends and hurdles, along with the ways they approach them head-on in their seedstock operations. They answer questions like: How do Angus breeders remain competitive? What's the relevance of a breed association today? How do you work smarter? HOSTS: Mark McCully and Miranda Reiman GUESTS: Gordon Stucky's roots in Kingman County, Kansas, trace back to 1937, when his parents established a diversified crop and livestock operation. Stucky began the transition to a registered Angus cattle herd in 1976. After graduating from Kansas State University with an animal science degree, he returned to the ranch to build the herd he and his wife, Caroline, and family have today. Stucky served as president of the American Angus Association and in leadership roles with the Kansas Livestock Association, Kansas Farm Bureau, Kansas Extension Council and the Beef Improvement Federation. Keivn Yon, Ridge Spring, S.C., and his wife, Lydia, established Yon Family Farms in 1996. All three of their children and their families have returned to the operation, which is now home to 700 head of Angus brood cows and 300 commercial cows. Yon has served as president of the American Angus Association, president of the South Carolina Angus Association and South Carolina Cattlemen's Association. Stream access rights and regulations in the United States vary throughout the country, and depending on where exactly you're fishing, the laws dealing with how you can enter a riverbed or step into the water can be wildly different. The subject is a complicated one, and with a growing number of anglers and a continued increase in the popularity of fishing, the stream access issue has dramatically heated up over the past several years. In the midst of the continuing and heated battle for public access and fishing rights throughout the US, a company called Rare Waters is offering what they believe is a unique option to diversify angler access. With the Rare Waters model, individual anglers can secure river access to private property through an “Air-BNB-like” pay-to-play platform. They've created a network with property owners – primarily and initially in the US West – who are willing – for a fee – to grant access to anglers looking for both solitude and exclusive access. And while Rare Waters is not buying up properties and converting public waters into private waters, a lot of anglers nonetheless have very strong opinions on public access and the pay-to-access scenarios. In this episode, Waypoints host Jim Klug is joined by RJ Hosking and Brendan Stucky of Rare Waters for a discussion about stream access, private property rights, the history of private “fishing clubs,” and the effects of increased angling pressure on our rivers and streams.- View all podcast episodes by going to the WAYPOINTS podcast page- WAYPOINTS is brought to you by our friends at Fishpond. After a moving hiatus, Middle Class Rock Star is back this week with Erik Stucky. We're both Colorado boys that are currently calling the greater Nashville area home. Erik came over to the new home studio to record this episode live. I don't get to do them live very often these days! (from Erik's website bio): "Growing up in the rugged mountains of western Colorado, Erik Stucky picked up his first mandolin at the age of 8. Following the release of his debut album Stray Clouds in 2017, Stucky packed up his instruments and a single suitcase and pointed his pickup for Nashville. Influenced heavily by New Grass Revival and Lyle Lovett, the Americana artist proved his ability to cross genres from Country, to Soul, to Jazz, all the while maintaining an unmistakable writing style and voice with his sophomore album, Good Vibrations (2021). Performing on the mandolin and guitar, Stucky combines his passion for lyric writing, folk instrumentation, and big band arrangements." Heeeyyyy ya'll!!! We're back and we're being professionally produced by Mr. Stucky himself (he's awesome guys, no, really). Our guest this week is mystic poet, writer, publisher, and performance artist Janaka Stucky, who's been hailed as “extraordinary" and "riveting” by no less an occult authority than Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin. We were first introduced to Stucky through his work with Third Man Books, the literary division of Jack White's Third Man empire, which released his 2015 collection The Truth is We Are Perfect and 2019's epic poem, Ascend, Ascend. Rooted in horrific imagery and Kabbalistic prose and written over the course of twenty days as its author came in and out of trance states, Ascend Ascend is beautiful and horrifying—a meditation on decay and transcendence. Now, Stucky is presenting a musical version of the text. Recorded at the All Pilgrims Church in Seattle as part of a 7-city tour in 2019, the album finds Stucky joined by cellist Lori Goldston, known for her work with Nirvana, Earth, and Cat Power. This week on Transmissions, he connects with host Jason P. Woodbury to discuss the poem, his musical journey, and touch on the ineffable and dread-soaked nature of reality. Support Aquarium Drunkard on Patreon. Transmissions is a part of the Talkhouse Podcast Network. Next week on Transmissions? Alex Pappademas and Joan LeMay join us to discuss their new book, Quantum Criminals: Ramblers, Wild Gamblers, and Other Sole Survivors from the Songs of Steely Dan.
Erin and Joe O welcome in Stucky to get his perspective on how to bet the Super Bowl along with the remainder of the college basketball season.
