During the last two years of his comedy career, Morgan discovered light and sound machines, which introduced him to deeper states of meditation. This transformative experience led him to leave show business to focus on meditation and raising his children. Over time, Morgan achieved profound meditative states, including Turia and Tiritita, which inspired him to delve deeper into mindfulness. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Morgan began working with autistic children and offered online meditation sessions, reaching over 1,000 students to help alleviate their stress and anxiety. Alongside his partner Cada Edwards Pierre, he co-developed an innovative app named Psycle. The app utilizes AR, XR technologies, and Brainwave Entrainment to guide users into meditative states, aiming to enhance creativity, mindfulness, and overall well-being. Morgan's book, “Bodhi In The Brain,” further explores his meditation program and its benefits. Listen & Subscribe on: iTunes / Stitcher / Podbean / Overcast / Spotify Contact Info LInkedIn: Morgan O. Thoughts On Breathing People can look into pranayama, the art of breathing, and Hinduism and yoga as traditions. My favorite breathing technique is two breaths of fire. They breathe in and out really quickly through the nostrils, which can put you into a certain state. One of my other favorites is alternate nostril breathing, which involves switching from nostril to nostril. This really bounces out the two hemispheres of the brain. What Is Kemor? We were inspired to create Kemor, which is myself and my partner, Keda Edwards Pierre. We got together and created this development app about these five-dimensional beings, which we call Mukshas. This name comes from the word moksha, which means liberation. They become meditation guides. We bring people into these realms, and they meditate using binaural beats. We are using AR and XR technologies. AI and brainwave entrainment will come along in the future. Introducing Jono Holt. Ten years ago he founded Otherway, the strategically-led studio where design and advertising work together to connect brands with a new generation of consumers. Forged from a background in advertising but with a desire to create omni-channel brands in a fast-changing digital world; Jono spotted the DTC trend early, looking to brands like Warby Parker in the states, going on to launch brands like Butternut Box, Psycle, Hylo, Cabinet, Moju, Lucky Saint and many more, including their own watch brand Farer.  And in many ways, ten years on, Otherway have come full circle. Not only launching a new studio in San Francisco but playing a hand in a surprising amount of ads that you'll see on the London Underground. With brands like Strongbow, Deliveroo, Inches, Graze, Moretti, and Hayman's Gin all demanding a slice of Otherway's creative aptitude for first-class communications.  For me this episode is a special one. The 100th episode. I spent four years at Otherway working closely with Jono and learning as much as I possibly could from him. An approach to brand strategy that is provocative, commercial, to-the-point and delivered with conviction without the fluff, time-wasting or jargon that you can find lurking in other agencies. He hasn't taught me everything but he's taught me a hell of a lot - and I'm lucky to count him among my mentors today.  In this retrospective episode we look back at the past ten years in business and to the future, garnering his point of view on the world of brands today while looking at the opportunities in the market tomorrow. If you're interested in branding, advertising, agencies or the venture ecosystem then this one's for you.  Enjoy.

In this episode I ask Aanya how she quite literally manages being a Psycle instructor whilst doing a full time science PhD. From having been diagnosed with leukaemia as a child whilst growing up in Sri Lanka, to coming to London for treatment and boarding school and falling in love with science, fitness has been something that has followed her throughout her adult journey, and she shares with us how she organically came across the opportunity to apply to be an instructor at Psycle or the PhD she is now pursuing. Through her 'A Team', she motivates hundreds of people to fall in love with themselves and their bodies, and push themselves to show up and be better. However she doesn't shy away from her struggles and we talk about the times she has found it really difficult to manage everything and what she does to help get herself out of a funk. One of my favourite parts of this episode is discussing food and nutrition and various misconceptions that exist around certain diets such as vegetarianism or veganism. There are some great practical tips on how to include certain food groups if you are struggling to figure out what to cook at home. Aanya may not quite realise it but she is massively paving the way for South Asian women to fall in love with fitness and their relationships with food. I'm so proud that she is part of the same Sindhi community that I am from, because many women in our community don't typically place much importance on fitness and exercise and so it's great to see her among some other amazingSouth Asian women in the fitness space in Europe, charging right through that barrier. You can find Aanya on Instagram at @aanya.h and definitely check out some of her music playlists that will get you pumped on your next workout.

Topics Discussed in this Episode: Making the transition from the corporate world to the health and fitness industry Becoming a life coach and the value it brings How switching careers changed Sarah’s wellbeing Combining life coaching with the physical movement aspect Psycle and why it’s becoming more popular Recovery Key Takeaways: It’s important for anyone working in the field of therapy, counseling, or coaching to have their own coach, someone they can speak candidly to. Coaches play such a valuable role and serve such a unique purpose Every good personal trainer or fitness coach, or any coach for that matter, is on that journey of constantly evolving. The blueprint that Pscyle teaches is very strategic in how to motivate and when to motivate. There’s so much that goes behind the psychological element. Recovery is pre- and post-workout. It’s what helps facilitate and make the workout more effective, and it’s also the mental aspect. It’s about healthspan, not lifespan. It’s about the longevity of healthspan and living a useful, happy life. Action Steps: If you’re a fitness instructor, do something for yourself outside of teaching. Try Psycle. Make sleep one of your non-negotiables. Sarah said: “Those of us that work in this industry, we are advocates, we are paving the way, we are leading by example.” “It’s important to be moving the body, yes, but in a sustainable way.” If you’re interested in finding out what your health IQ is, take the Health IQ test to find out, and get a free 39-page report built around our six signals, which are sleep, mental health, energy, body composition, digestion, and fitness. Welcome to Episode 8 of the WELL + WILD Podcast. This week we have a super interesting guest with a fascinating story. Doug Robson, originally from Botswana started out his career in the banking industry, he soon realised it wasn't really fulfilling him, so he left and found himself in the world of stunt performers! He has since performed stunts in Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Wars, Game of Thrones and Kingsman.  More recently, he became interested in Yoga and created his own blend of Yoga called ‘Warrior Yoga', a mix of martial arts and yoga. Doug teaches regularly at Psycle and Peckham Levels. He is also a Lululemon Ambassador. We discuss his motivations for leaving the banking industry, why we should challenge ourselves to go after our passions and what makes us happy instead of the perceived ‘safe' option. I was fascinated to hear more about what a stunt performer does and I quizzed him about his experiences such as getting set alight! What an incredible discussion, please enjoy the episode and thanks so much for listening! I'd be very grateful if you could please leave me a review if you enjoyed this episode, it helps me get more and more amazing guests on here for you to listen to. Thank you! Can we train a machine to translate Egyptian hieroglyphs? This is the question the independent production company Psycle explored in a Ubisoft research project. Taking the facsimiles created by Egyptologists as our starting point, we created a processing pipeline that begins with photographs of hieroglyphs in situ, and ends with possible translations in a modern language. The pipeline uses computer vision techniques to find candidate glyphs and glyph groups in an automatically generated facsimile. Next, neural nets are used to recognise the candidate glyphs and, finally, sequences of glyphs are compared to dictionaries of glyph words in order to find possible translations. The lecture discusses not only the technical challenges of the project, but also highlights the limitations of machine learning, and the critical importance of the amount and consistency of data for enterprises of this type. The engagement and support of the academic community, which was crucial in giving direction and substance to the project, is also discussed. The project has generated a research and teaching tool for Egyptologists, an open-source repository of code, and several avenues for further research and collaboration. Few people know the importance of tailoring your offering to a customer base better than Colin Waggett, CEO of Third Space. He's the master of grasping opportunities at the ideal time to bring growth and new offerings to members interested in London luxury. Watch the full episode on YouTube – https://youtu.be/fsHuhNOddj4 Colin's professional background in hospitality, finance and casinos brought him to realise his passion for fitness is only matched by his ability to drive progress, implementing this wealth of experience. Since joining the industry, he's headed up a £500m company to thrive in over 20 countries and, today, provides outstanding fitness spaces that members feel are their own. Following seven years at Fitness First as CEO, Colin went on to co-found a venture into the boutique market with Psycle. This enabled the entrepreneur of opulence to continue to learn about himself in a smaller, premium offering, including discovering the different challenges that every business goes through during growth trajectories. Of course, the work is never done, with behind the scenes propositions in his current venture, Third Space, ever expanding – evolution is always on the cards. While the focus is on London, listen to find out where the next direction is heading. Third Space bills its locations as London's luxury health clubs, providing outstanding fitness spaces that members feel are their own, and the description doesn't disappoint. Another_Space offers three class concepts: yoga, cycle, and HIIT. These are pay-as-you-go offerings in two London locations. Colin and his team have found the magic ingredients of theatre, community and innovation, fulfilling members' love of the “new.” This implemented in fitness offerings, whether group sessions, climbing, cardio or any aspect of functional fitness, ensures that this is a best-in-class business compared to the competition, complemented by every other facility in the clubs to ensure the highest quality of experience.   Episode Highlights:  How you can use the benefit of hindsight to implement lessons learnt for future opportunities. The importance of differentiation and how to stand out with a fitness offering and great service that brings balance to any member's life. Design is vital. How can you inspire your members or customers through ambiance alone, to complement everything else your business offers. What is the future of the boutique? Will people leave traditional clubs and migrate? Will they stay in full service gyms? Will members continue choose between the two?    Join Matthew Januszek in conversation with Colin Waggett of Third Space….   Please like and subscribe.
