Hey I'm Suzie, I spent 6 years working in corporate sales roles in London including the largest Investment bank in the world and a San Francisco fintech unicorn. Despite these being quite impressive jobs to a lot of people, I always felt like something was missing. The routine started to really get me down so I did a lot of soul searching until I decided to quit my job, start a podcast and move to Bali to explore the world of remote work. What I discovered amazed me, there are entire communities of super smart and talented people working and living remotely, from all over the world, all doing different things and actually EXCITED about their work. I learned that many of them had left huge corporate jobs because they were restricted to staying in one place and had experienced similar things to me. From then on I became obsessed with this way of working, it opens up so many opportunities for you to travel, spend more time with loved ones or just do more things you love all whilst being more productive and generally happier. It also levels the playing field for global talent which is something I think can really change the economic landscape, solve issues in overpopulated cities and ultimately contribute to reducing global inequality. I want to help more people take advantage of this amazing way of working. Through my guest's stories, you will learn all about how they came to work remotely and the tips you can take into your own career and business.

Nils' story is super inspiring, he developed an interest in tech and marketing from a young age, we chat all about how he founded a Marketing Agency in his early 20s that he grew to 50+ employees. Originally from Germany, Nils now lives in Pererenan in Bali, Indonesia.  Nils reflects on his experience of his role as CEO as his company grew evolving into a role he didn't necessarily enjoy resulting in him becoming pretty unhappy to the point that he decided to sell his agency to travel the world. We discuss how important it is to find self awareness and understand what makes you happy so you can enjoy the process rather than living with a mentality of 'I'll be happy when...'  Today Nils consults on all things Conversion Optimization for several high profile enterprise clients, is a frequent speaker at conferences and co-hosts his own podcast called The Izzi & Nils Show. He has also worked hard to design a lifestyle he loves, working only a few hours per month for clients allowing him to spend the rest of his time on passion projects and enjoying life in Bali.  It's a super inspiring conversation and Nils gives an interesting insight into how he achieved a lifestyle which might seem impossible to many people through building a personal brand, finding a niche, becoming an expert and a lot of consistent self reflection.  Nils IG @nilskattau  Nils Website https://nilskattau.com/  Nils' Podcast: The Izzi & Nils Show:  Listen on Spotify, listen on Apple Podcasts

This week I interview Tom Pope, an endurance athlete with a full time job as an Executive Headhunter (he also happens to be my next door neighbour!). Following some tough personal times with his Mum's passing, Tom found endurance events as a way to channel his emotions and since has raised an incredible amount of money for the charity Multiple Sclerosis UK.  Tom talks about how he balances endurance competitions with his full time job, how it benefits both him and his employer and advice for anyone who wants to develop a passion on the side of their job. He also explains a bit more about some of the crazy races he's done including a series of marathons in the Sahara Desert called the Marathon Des Sables. It's such an inspirational conversation, from his life experiences so far Tom has such a lot of wisdom to pass on, particularly in terms of putting things into perspective, trusting your gut and spending time on things you love, unapologetically. Lewis' story is incredibly inspirational, I was in awe of his achievements and his story. He was born with a rare condition called Poland Syndrome where he's missing his right pectoral muscle and two ribs. His parents were told by doctors at birth that he wouldn't be able to play sport at all but Lewis didn't let that hold him back and went on to play cricket professionally for Sussex for many years. He discusses mindset, attitude, determination and lots of other factors contributing to his journey to playing cricket professionally. In addition to this, he explains how a devastating injury forced him to retire at the peak of his game, resulting in a complete loss of identity and a really difficult time. It was during this period that he found a love of yoga, both the physical and mental benefits and went onto start a company specialising in passing on this knowledge to other athletes.
