Few eyes have witnessed as much of the life of the New York Stock Exchange as those of Art Cashin, who first purchased a seat on the exchange in 1964. Despite all that changed around him at the NYSE during his tenure, you could always count on his wit and insight, as well as his ability to lead the Trading Floor every Christmas season in the singing of “Wait ‘Till the Sun Shines, Nellie.” To remember Art, friends and colleagues Jay Woods, Bob Pisani, James Rutledge, and Neil Catania go Inside the ICE House to uncover the moments that defined Art's career, the lessons he taught without ever giving a lecture, and the indelible mark he's left on the culture of Wall Street and beyond.  https://www.ice.com/insights/conversations/inside-the-ice-house

On today's podcast we have Mark Warburton.   We explore how Mark went from getting up at 4:32 for 20-odd years, to be at his trading desk for 5:45, then dealing $1.5-2B a day in foreign exchange deals, getting home at 7pm and taking calls through the night from New York, to winning championships at Brentford and Rangers - two phenomenal football clubs. Mark's story is as inspiring as it is unconventional. A former elite trader, he transitioned to coaching and quickly made his mark where he was the dominant catalyst in Brentford's ascent to the pinnacle of English football. Most significantly to me, the mighty Glasgow Rangers. Under his leadership, Rangers returned to the pinnacle of Scotland's topflight. As a coach, mentor, and leader, Mark has a proven ability to build winning teams both on and off the pitch, and take it from me - he is an exceptional human being. I believe his best is yet to come.  In this episode we talk about what excellence in leadership, and coaching teams looks like in both trading and football, we discuss the challenges that come with senior leadership, and how serious you need to take things if you truly want to perform at your best.   I hope you enjoy.   ----------------------------------------------------------------   Find Mark: https://x.com/markwarburton9   Find James: https://www.linkedin.com/in/acceleratingexcellence/ https://www.instagram.com/jamesaking_/ https://jamesaking.com/   The Mindset App: While the app is under development, we have decided to provide access to the full content for free on YouTube for a limited time. Hosted on Acast. Isaiah 61: 1-4  "The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,     because the Lord has anointed me     to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,     to proclaim freedom for the captives     and to release from darkness for the prisoners,[a] 2  to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor     of the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, 3      and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty     instead of ashes, the oil of joy     instead of mourning, and a garment of praise     instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness,     a planting of the Lord     for the display of his splendor. 4 They will rebuild the ancient ruins    and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities    that have been devastated for generations." I declare that while I may have experienced some grief,I am NOT  my grief. I will not build a tabernacle in my grief or disappointment  and dwell there forever. I will not change my name to Mara letting bitterness become what I am referred to and referred by. I declare that I receive grace to receive the grace of God. Like Naomi and Ruth ,I receive strength to make my way back to Beth-lehem (The House of Bread). Even if I may not clearly see it right now, I declare I have a future beyond my grief. And it's a future  not shaded in black but in bright and beautiful colors. I declare that I  turn in my ashes for His glorious beauty  And my mourning for the oil of joy. I trade my heavy spirit for the garment of praise  I embrace God's plan and provision to make me an oak of righteousness. An oak of righteousness that is tenacious, resilient and life giving. I am indeed the planting of the lord and He is glorified in my life. Who would have ever thought that them that once mourned could become the builders of old ruins and the repairers  of ruined cities. How marvelous and faithful is  my God. Amen ,Amen and Amen. This is Sassy and I pray for the release of the Kingdom of God into your life.
