Just ask Mirra Andreeva, who melted under the pressure of playing a home favourite in Lois Boisson. The semi-final picture is nearly set at Roland-Garros, as Kim and Chris catch up on the Quarter Finals of Roland Garros 2025! Among the semifinalists, we see a mix of familiar faces and standout surprises. Top seeds like Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, Jannik Sinner, and Carlos Alcaraz have delivered on expectations—but it's the emergence of local French Wild Card Lois Boisson that has captured the hearts of fans. The 21-year-old Frenchwoman, playing in her first-ever Grand Slam, continued her dream run today by upsetting teenage sensation Mirra Andreeva to book a place in the semi-finals. From unknown to unstoppable, Boisson is rewriting the script in Paris. They also discuss the lack of default for Lorenzo Musetti during his 4 set win over Frances Tiafoe after he accidentally kicked a ball thus hitting a line judge. Other players have been defaulted for less - should he have been too?Kim and Chris also discuss the ongoing debate around the lack of women's night matches scheduled at Roland Garros, with all four women's quarter finals being longer than the whitewash that was Carlos Alcaraz v Tommy Paul, lending further critique to Amelie Mauresmo's comments around the rationale for night session scheduling! They also weigh in on who they think will make the finals at Roland-Garros, looking ahead to the semi finals over the coming days.PROPERTY HUB INVESTIf you're serious about property, head to https://propertyhub.net/start to take your first step.SOCIALSFollow us on Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, plus email the show tennisweeklypod@gmail.com.MERCHPurchase Tennis Weekly Merch through our Etsy store including limited edition designs by Krippa Design where all proceeds go towards the podcast so we can keep doing what we do!REVIEWS***Please take a moment to rate and review the show on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you get your pods. Hello Rank Squad! It's time for Champions League Takeaway, your late night delivery following the action - looking back at Tuesday's Quarter Finals, where Arsenal blew away Real Madrid in a stunning second half at the Emirates, whilst Inter dispatched Bayern with ruthless efficiency on German soil. We start with the man of the hour - Declan Rice - whose two unbelievable free-kicks handed Arsenal the lead in their tie against Real, putting the Gunners on their way to a 3-0 win that even the most ardent Gooner wouldn't have seen coming. Looking at the game as a whole, we discuss where Arsenal got things right, where Real Madrid got things wrong, the second leg at the Bernabeu, and loads more. Then in Part Two it's time to head to Bavaria to discuss Inter beating Bayern 2-1 at the Allianz, thanks to some clinical finishing from them, some profligate moments from their opponents, and a chaotic ending that saw a goal at each end in the closing two minutes of normal time. It's Ranks! And remember, if you'd like more from the Rank Squad, including extra podcasts every Monday and Friday (including our weekly Postbox taking a look at the whole weekend of football) and access to our brilliant Discord community, then why not join us here on Patreon?
