As a parent, the weight of shaping my children's spiritual journey often feels monumental. Yet, it's in our everyday conversations that the seeds of faith take root, and this episode is a guide on how to nurture those tender sprouts. As we navigate the highs and lows of parenting, I open up about my own experiences in fostering a home where Jesus is more than a Sunday school lesson, but a constant, comforting presence. You'll discover practical tips for weaving faith into daily life—whether through music, storytelling, or simple, teachable moments.Bringing scripture into the heart of our homes doesn't have to be a chore, it can be a chorus. I delve into the transformative power of music and scripture for our little ones, showcasing the resources that have turned my family's living space into a sanctuary. I share my love for Seeds Family Worship and Praise Baby videos, which have infused our days with joy and God's word. And for parents seeking to raise children with a deep connection that make the stories and teachings of Jesus accessible and relatable to young hearts.Yet, spiritual guidance isn't just about the warm embrace of faith; it's also about setting boundaries—financial and moral—that prepare our children for a prosperous future in every sense of the word. I reveal how everyday moments, like a car ride or a fishing trip, can become profound lessons in responsibility and resisting temptation. By sharing stories and metaphors that resonate with young minds, we discuss how to impart the wisdom of living a life that honors God, shaping children who not only know of Him but who strive to reflect His love in every action. Join me as we commit to raising a generation grounded in faith, equipped with the tools to navigate the journey ahead with grace and purpose.Follow Along @ - https://www.instagram.com/nikkicronksmith/Episode Resources Favorite Children's Bibles:The Biggest Bible Story: https://amzn.to/3uHo1o5The Biggest Bible Board Book Version: https://amzn.to/3ThT2YUThe Biggest Bible Story Storybook: https://amzn.to/4bYDEbxThe Jesus Storybook Bible: https://amzn.to/3UT37NmSeeds Family Worship Music: https://seedskidsworship.com/product-category/music/On Spotify : https://open.spotify.com/artist/5kV2pC0biCYFh3y9HxgNkSOn Apple:  https://music.apple.com/us/artist/seeds-family-worship/251295888Scripture Lullabies:On Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/3egDut5sE3JIphJpVLO0z4On Apple: https://music.apple.com/us/artist/scripture-lullabies/464465134Praise Baby:On Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/0uIyzjmP48YI0dpgdAjdeIOn Apple: https://music.apple.com/us/album/sleepytime-lullabies/372543219Abby Houston - Melodically Memorizing:On Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/1CcoMJoJtlZrt2w6XSbj6c?si=9kKzk_T-Tc2JWQq2CQFVogOn Apple: https://music.apple.com/us/artist/abby-houston/1173348681Lou Giglio Book: Don't Give The Enemy A Seat At The Table https://amzn.to/49wK8N7Videos:https://bibleproject.com/explorehttps://www.thebiggeststory.comhttps://www.youtube.com/@listenerkids

Christian parents know they need to disciple their children, but they are often distracted, passive, and swept into the culture rather than being “transformed by the renewing of their minds” (Romans 12:2). Seeds Family Worship wants to equip ministry leaders with a call to action for parents to not “miss this critical moment” in their children's lives, but to set the spiritual foundation for them to create a God-centered culture in their homes. If parents will step into their role as defined by Deuteronomy 6, they can significantly impact their child's teen years, young adulthood, and ultimately their eternity. The greatest voice in the life of any child is their parents — and the greatest opportunity for discipleship is in the context of their family and home. Let's listen to Jason Houser encourage us today to impact the discipleship of the next generation.   We want to say a special thanks to our show's sponsors!   1. Here on the Kidmin Tribe podcast we are all about transforming kids worship experiences. And an important aspect of that is how we can creatively teach kids the Word of God. And we're not talking about just memorizing and reciting it, but how can they apply it to their lives. It's one of the keys to raising strong disciples. Today we have Jason Houser who founded Seeds Family Worship over 18yrs ago. He's led teams in creating over 200 Scripture worship songs and videos to help kids and parents to sing God's Word. And they found that when this happens, they see that God's Word goes down deep and children are able to recall words and meanings and it really is life changing. He's co-written some well known CCM songs such as Broken Things and Emotions, an even co-wrote a book a parenting discipleship book called Dedicated with Bobby and Chad Harrington. This guy is an expert on teaching kids God's Word. We can't wait for you to hear what he's god to say. SHOW NOTES

If we are going to swim God's direction in this downstream culture, people will think that we are odd. They will have all kinds of choice words to describe us. We need to have this expectation in life, and we need to give our kids this expectation as well. If our children stay true to God's Word and God's standard, our culture will not celebrate them. In fact, our culture will accuse and may even cancel them. Other Christians may accuse and cancel them. But that's ok. We stand in good company when we are accused and canceled for our faith. This episode is the first in a series on being a counter-cultural Christian. In order to do that, we need to (1) stay grounded in the Word, and (2) draw inspiration from those who swam upstream before us. In this first installment, Catherine gives some practical tips and lots of Biblical inspiration to help us swim upstream in our downstream culture. We continue our leadership series on the Podcast with John Majors as we discuss how The Noble Man Leads His Family. John is an author at Seeds Family Worship, a ministry dedicated to helping families and churches memorize God's Word through songs, videos, and other resources for family devotions and worship. When it comes to leadership, John first reminds us of Mark 10:45, that Jesus came to serve and give life. “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” It can feel like we are behind when it comes to leading our families, but don't lose hope. “The best time to have planted a tree was 20 years ago, the next best time is now.” We cover everything from practical tips for family devotions and memorizing scripture together, to helping your children understand biblical sexuality and what it looks like to grow into a godly man or woman. Some of John's top tips: Pursue the Lord on your own. It's the number one thing you can do. A great leader is first a great follower. I submit to someone higher than me; Christ is at the center. Love your wife well, know, serve, and love her. By observing this in your marriage, your children will learn Jesus' love for the church. Get to know each child and love them. Notice Deuteronomy 6 doesn't start with teaching our children, it starts with allegiance to God.   Resources: Seeds Family Worship - Full of free resources for the family including scripture memory songs. “Songs make it effortless for kids to memorize scripture.” Twenty Verses in 2020 – Free devotions, songs, and videos that will help you lead your family in memorizing scripture together in an engaging way. Jason and and I chat about how music had become an idol in his life. He shares about eventually surrendering it all to God and how that altered his journey to one of a restored marriage, writing Christian music, and eventually Seeds Family Worship.  Our conversation is one filled with joy, laughter and encouragement for families. Seeds Family Worship mission: To get God's Word to as many hearts and homes as possible. 6:10: Jason begins sharing his faith journey with us "God revealed Himself to me through the mountains of Idaho, through His creation." Selfish ambition was an idol in my life.  I would say things like, "We're gonna make this happen." "Ambition in and of itself is not a bad thing, but when it is based on you...And music is an amazing thing and it is such a gift in my life, but in that season music was an idol.  It came before the Lord.  That is when I took a wrong turn and I wondered away from the Lord, but God pursued me." Psalm 40 (life verse) 9:24  Jason talks about switching from country music to Christian music.  He began working with Matthew West. Jason shares two examples of God's grace in his life: He finally let go of music and that is when God gave him songs to write that become #1 hits. The gift of his 3rd a child.  A daughter, Abby. 11:30  Jason shares more details about how Seeds Family Worship came to be. x"The Lord really showed me, quit chasing after things and seek me first. Like Matthew 6: 31-33 says, 'Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness.' But if you go back to earlier in that verse it says, 'Do not worry saying what shall we eat, what shall we drink, what shall we wear for the pagans run after all these thing and your Heavenly Father knows that you need them.' The Lord showed me, 'That's you. You're chasing after all these things.  Seek me first and I'm going to bring everything you need to you." "God always gave me a heart for kids." The children's ministry director asked him to write 5 Scriptures to song for VBS.  They became the first 5 Seeds songs. 12:59 "At the end of the week, I could see, every child, every teacher knew every song word for word. And because where God had my heart, I saw something happening, because of how I am wired, 'I'm like we could go for this and chase after this,' but I thought, 'No, if this is the Lord I'm not going to do anything.' I kind of felt that thing where I just kind of charge, because how God made me, but I was like, 'Lord, if you want this..." 14:25 Jason shares how Seeds Ministry has impacted his family personally and shares a few other impact stories. YWAM : Ben (Jason's brothers) was a YWAM'er early on. "Worship girl" is Jason's niece and she will be on tour with Seeds this summer. There’s a verse in the Bible that says “do not be anxious about anything.” um, excuse me, have you ever lived in my shoes? Sometimes we think our anxieties about life are just a byproduct of living, sometimes we deal with them or cover them up, but somedays they ultimately defeat us. Today we are looking at what the Bible says about anxiety and uncover the root of why our hearts are really anxious. This is part 1 of a two part series.  Biblical Worship Music for Your Kids! Seeds Family Worship has incredible resources to help your family (or church or youth group) learn the Word of God through song. Anxiety - A Faith Misplaced Psalm 34:4 I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Anxiety is often diagnosed as a thinking problem. If we just changed our thought patterns then we could manage our anxieties - as if the problem is rooted in manifesting positivity.  But From a biblical worldview anxiety is a faith issue. It’s rooted in our belief system. We are anxious when we put our faith in something other than God. When we put our trust in other things, anxiety will fill our hearts.  We need faith in a right view of God and His promises - not just in what we think about God.  Wendy Alsup in her book “Practical Theology for Women” says, “many of us come to God with unbiblical notions of who He is and what He does. We’ve let our culture and upbringing, rather than the Bible itself, determine the character traits we attribute to God." Authentic faith comes from an understanding of God’s true nature and promises found in Scripture alone. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Hope in Repentance and Belief The hope in being honest about a lack of faith is that we can repent of that sin and turn back to God and His Truth. When we repent for not trusting God, God forgives us and restores us and blesses us.  Psalm 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. Is the Word of God sufficient? Is it lacking any information or directives we need for this life?  Does God give extra-biblical revelations? We are going to discuss why the Bible is enough for everything there is to do with life and godliness. Plus identify three struggles that sometimes cause us to look to outside sources. The Bible Is Sufficient for Life 2 Timothy 3:14-17 1 Peter 1:3-4 The Bible is useful to instruct us in this life - including the basic fundamental understanding about God, our condition, and our purpose. The Bible teaches us: Who is God? What is man's condition? How does God save man? How should man live? Ephesians 2:1-10 is a great summary of these fundamental instructions. Three Struggles we have with the Sufficiency of Scripture: Discontentment of our life and calling Not understanding our purpose through a lack of knowledge of the Word of God Our hearts are idol factories and we are attracted to worship other things Learn Scripture through Song: Seeds Family Worship We are using this in our home and church to help our kids (and me) hide God's Word in our hearts. Each song teaches word for word Scripture and its fun to sing! In addition to music there are music videos with animation to show the words. It's a great resource.
