His voice has evolved into this smooth, controlled, gruff instrument that is so deep it can smooth your soul. Unlike some other people we could name, his album is an acceptable length(not 36). Evan & John are an indie folk duo from Sarnia, Ontario, featuring Evan Dawe and John Pilat. Influenced by Simon & Garfunkel and The Milk Carton Kids, their music focuses on tight, complex harmonies, wrapped in a beautiful dueling acoustic guitar accompaniment. Since forming in 2017, Evan & John have been playing shows right across southern Ontario and beyond. In January 2018, they released an EP entitled “Little Songs”, followed by a single “House By The Sea” in April. Evan and John joined us in the Folk Roots Radio studio for a chat about their music, and three live songs. For more information, please visit evanandjohn.bandcamp.com. Music: Evan & John “South Coast Highway” (Live), “Turncoat” (Live) and “Early June” (Live).

MIXES – Ambientblog

The title of this mix is taken from the beautiful soundtrack it heavily leans on: Alexandre Desplat's "Rust and Bone" ("De Rouille et D'Os"). "Rust" usually refers to 'decay', but in dutch "Rust" simply also means 'rest', ('tranquil - or 'repos' in french). But - as we say in Holland: "Rust Roest" - or: "Too much rest will make you rusty..." In other words: don't expect just 'tranquil' sounds in this mix.. This is nót meant to be your average 'healing session ambient' soundtrack... so be prepared... --- originally published on Ambientblog --- Playlist: [Start Time][Sample Length][Artist - Title][Album], [Year], [Label details] 00:00 01:16 Colin Stetson - All the Days I've Missed You (Ilay I)De Rouille et D'Os OST, 2012, Idol Records 691.A003.020/WNP000700:59 01:49 Ben Woods - The Brightest Lights in the Darkest SkiesMoments, 2009, Wise Owl OWL-04401:23 03:34 Listening Mirror - There are No StarsFive Pieces, 2012, Rural Colours RC050 03:22 02:27 Y0t0 - Uriarra Road (Seaworthy)Uriarra Road, 2011, Facture 00304:29 04:06 Luup - DawnIt's Not Boring, It's Ambient, 2012, Preserved Sound07:54 02:32 Paulo Raposo - UntitledUntitled Songs: 49 Years from Gesang der Jünglinge, 2005, Sirr 002009:07 03:06 Dyane Donck - IrredeemableMind the Gap 100, 2013, Gonzo Circus GC12610:39 02:29 Jan Kees Helms - E-NatureFall Asleep Ghosts, 2009, DNA Production DNA 7211:27 01:34 Daddy You Scared Me sample from Possession, 2012, Ghost House Pictures12:27 01:13 Michael Esposito, Carl Michael von Hauswolff, Phantom Air Waves - The Ghosts of Effingham,The Ghosts of Effingham, 2010, Parapsychic Acoustic Research Cooperative ‎– PARC 412:37 01:46 Mychael Danna - TsimtsumLife of Pi OST, 2012, 20th Century Fox 8872547725213:56 02:25 Bob Ostertag, Phil Minton - InkVerbatim Flesh & Blood, 1998, Seeland 51214:36 01:51 Eyvind Kang - Wintercount - Avalika SvaraGrass, 2012, Tzadik TZ808915:45 02:03 Alexandre Desplat - AliDe Rouille et D'Os OST, 2012, Idol Records 691.A003.020/WNP000716:42 03:40 Pauwel de Buck - Rehabilitated DistrictMind the Gap 88, 2011, Gonzo Cicus GC11317:38 03:01 Offthesky - Khione Cast the ChildA Winter's Gift, 2012, Hibernate HB4618:51 06:05 Richard Chartier - Retrieval PathAirport Symphony, 2007, Room40 EDRM41721:30 03:38 Porya Hatami - WinterLand, 2012, Somehow Recording SR-2823:49 02:07 Ben Frost - Feeding10, 2011, Room40 DRM41025:18 02:29 Ben Lukas Boysen; Nils Frahm - Closing Credits (By Nils Frahm)Restive OST, 2012, hymen records ¥803 25:49 03:09 Yourai - To Karlheinz StockhausenMusic for Elevators 4, 2012, Mahorka mhrk09127:47 04:57 Arve Henriksen - Recording AngelCartography, 2008, ECM 208631:33 04:43 Chris Watson - Mexico D.F.El Tren Fantasma, 2011, Touch TO:4235:23 03:07 Bass Communion - TailwindHeadwind-Tailwind, 2009, My Own Little Label MOLL03037:48 02:10 Alexandre Desplat - De Rouille et D'OsDe Rouille et D'Os OST, 2012, Idol Records 691.A003.020/WNP000738:50 05:50 Francisco Lopez - Untitled #233Untitled (2009), 2011, Baskaru Karu:2040:19 03:38 Luca Nasciuti - CradleBrave New World, 2011, FeedbackLoop Label FbL01042:39 03:14 Ed.S - Leftover2_(Ed.S Remix)Shinkei + mise_en_scene - Leftovers (Reworked), 2011, Crónica 06045:29 02:23 Justin Bennett - MoorlandWildlife, 2008, Spore Records 00746:18 03:52 Simon Whetham - FabricariaLoud Listening, 2012, Crónica 06747:05 02:36 Yann Novak - Slow MotionSequence 5, 2012, Future Sequence SE 00548:40 00:46 Cliff Martinez - PlaceboContagion OST, 2011, Watertower Music WTM3926648:48 04:17 Linear Bells - Purple Night (feat.
