In episode #259, we welcome Ben Syer, who was recently named Head Coach of Princeton University's men's program. Previously, he spent eight seasons as an assistant with Quinnipiac University and 13 with Cornell University. During that time, Cornell won an ECAC Championship and made 6 trips to the NCAA tournament. Based on the outpouring of support he's received from his peers, there is no doubt that Syer is deserving of this new position and is set up to have success leading the Tigers. Listen as he shares why positive peer pressure is the key to creating a competitive environment, finding the "wow" factor in a player's game, and the importance of improving the situation you're in, rather than jumping ship.
Hi, Spring fans! In this installment, I talk to Dr. Dave Syer and Phil Webb, on the occassion of the 10th Anniversary of Spring Boot
When Sana when through the trauma of almost losing her nineteen-year-old son in a car crash, she did the unexpected: she shared the forty-three day experience on social media and asked the world to pray that God would do the impossible. Why? Because—as she says—then, "Everyone will know it was God."In part two of this conversation with Sana Latrease, I know you'll be inspired by the tenacious faith of this mom who had the illogical belief that she would one day praise God for her son's full recovery.I had the privilege of sharing part of Sana's story in my Bible study on the life of Sarah, Shaped by God's Promises. Where was God, when a little girl was being trafficked by the mother who should have kept her safe?On the Live Like It's True podcast, I'm talking Sana Latrease to talk about her story of God's faithfulness, even in the middle of her childhood trauma. This isn't the story Sana would have written, but it's the story God wrote for her. The first Law Lair of October! Welcome in everyone. Following a double line-up of shows last week, I am back with more work on the table for your everyday listening. I brought a longtime radio host homie of mine Keisha Renee into the studio for some good industry talk as well as introducing her feature on the new single "Drip Drop" - that's right, Keisha pivoted from radio microphones to rap microphones. Syer On The Beat handles a majority of the production on any given episode or show on the Chad Law Channel, so it was only right I brought the homie in for this weeks Producer Spotlight. But today we have The Washed Ambassador here to talk about the importance of the effort he puts into his marriage. We discuss very important topics from three specific angles.....Kicking Her Feet Up - The way you relax and relieve her from the pressures of the relationship and her own individual responsibilities.Keeping Her Feet Done - Maintenance and Upkeep of her feetNot Giving Her The Run Around- This should be self explanatory!!!.This conversation is packed with useful information that all men and women can use to their own relationship benefit. How prolonging your career, taking risks, and embracing the journey can work in your favor. We have been fighting the virus and the troubles of this world...but we are here with episode 30 of Change The Subject. Titled "Talk To Me Nice", this episode is about the golden rule being applied in a relationship. When you say to someone "treat them like you want to be treated"...its often negated by someone believing that positive treatment comes from the energy and vibes you put out. But for most of us, we found that some folks are shitty because they deal with shitty people. So when your partner isn't chipper in your presence, do you ever hold yourself accountable? This is what BJ, and today"s guest decided to dive into. Our guest is none other than Smackie Robinson himself, Syer of The Officially Street Podcast. If you are a long time listener, you are familiar with how BJ and The Washed God politic. We discussed how treating a man like an equal can be beneficial to all the things women seem to expect from them, just because he is responsible for the job. Common laws like "sharing is caring" are exhibited in the examples given in the episode...where we talk about taking out the trash and doing the dishes. How chores can incite intimacy. And how, some jobs we handle aren't things we actually like to do...so having someone understand your plight can bring about a certain peace to your relationship. The constructs of gender roles have truly destroyed our relativity to each other. Me and Sy challenge these ideas with easy applications and words of advice.More importantly, we tackle the conversation of treating men like a lady...and NO, not like bad bitches or demeaning as the world treats our women. But with respect, dignity, and consideration. Do we compliment our men the same way we do our women when they deserve it? What about when he puts on a little weight? Do you make him feel sexy, when he get a little thick? Where are our women's attention spans to the needs of our men...and do you talk and treat him nicely enough to be entitled to his provision and protection? Tune in and hear two kings break down this relationship barrier. We love our ladies...but do they love us back????
Music producer and podcaster Syer of the Officially Street Podcast stops by to talk about his music, family and more.

Good Morning, Good Day or Good Evening. Welcome in and welcome back. Today, as it has seemed lately, was supposed to be about something else, yet the conversation that was needed arose it's head. Months ago Syer from The Officially Street Podcast asked a simple question on twitter " Who has Drake put on the Way Jayz has".... little did he know, as he typed those words and pressed "tweet" that he set in motion the downfall of Smoke Free Weekend,,,,,In life we all make decisions, adjustments, life patterns etc. In doing so we sometimes offend the people we care about knowingly or not. In these times a few things become pertinent,1. Speaking up and making your feelings known2. The offender recognizing and RESPECTING the offended position3. The apology and the acceptance of4. The immediate road to repairIn real time you all listen as we take a conversation that was meant to be about something else and actually on air have a conversation that should've been had months ago..... listen as we apologize for the day Syer, OF NO FAULT OF HIS OWN, almost ruined Smoke Free Weekend.be kind to those who are kind to you#yourewelcome

Welcome back to Teach Me How To Love You Better. We are here with a very exciting lesson, and guest. Today's Lesson, which is Lesson 5, is titled Lead. We held this conversation with none other than Cherry Poppins, of The Officially Street Podcast, that she Co Hosts with alongside Syer and JayOmega. Cherry brought perspective to what it's been like for most women who date men today: and their lack of fluid communication.Despite the conversation being mostly centered around Communicating, LEAD was the most powerful word in the conversation (for it not to be the initial focal point). The conversation started with Cherry Poppins describing the process that is required when taking her on a date. She detailed how forthcoming you would have to be, in order to get from behind the phone to the dinner table. But simply having conversation is not good enough. She wants to see your effort, consistency, and intention. You have to make her want to go on a date with you. Despite the fact that may be exactly what you are talking about doing. She follows your LEAD, which is how the show titled became what it was. Based on how you LEAD off, is how she responds. In any way, shape, or form.Following a man"s lead has been a lost art to some, and Cherry truly believes it matters. And from this conversation, it clearly shows that leadership is what it takes to win her. And she doesn't care if you aren't up for the challenge. She is confident that somebody will be. But her tolerance and esteem will not change. We had an amazing conversation that i believe will help men and women of all ages. Tune in to Lesson 5 of Teach Me How To Love You Better!!!

BJ is excited to release this brand new episode of Change The Subject titled "Good In Every Hood". Days after the untimely passing of Neighborhood Hero/Successful rapper Nipsey Hussle…the world has reacted to his demise in an overwhelming way. In such a way NOW, that we have to look at the hood differently than we once did. Why would someone take the life of a man trying to do good for the hood? Especially for all the bad things that happen in the hood that no one cares about…why take the life of the man that did the most good in the hood he was from?I found somebody who is official, and street, to discuss this thoroughly. None other than self proclaimed Washed God and Podcast Bully himself, Syer of The Officially Street Podcast. We had a very real conversation about what it means to be "Good In Every Hood"….how we are supposed to move around in places we either are/are not from. How we can be comfortable when navigating throughout the streets we come from. Interesting enough, we find that Nipsey's passing has allowed people the right to FEEL again. It has awakened our humanity on so many levels. So BJ and Syer decided to talk about the hoods that matter most, and how it feels when we are good in every hood we go in:But this isn't the typical hood conversation. Leave it to BJ to take it beyond the streets. We talked about every hood the black man is effected in: His MANHOOD…BROTHERHOOD…FATHERHOOD…LIVELIHOOD…and NEIGHBORHOOD. We even talked about FALSEHOOD too!!! We all know a person who claims to be something that they are not. So we dropped some game on them too. Syer gave stories, knowledge and personal experience to back up every point of detail in this conversation. When I tell you that this conversation is loaded with so much thought and intellect…you just have to listen to believe it. It's REALLY Good.We also talked briefly about the things that make men uncomfortable. How as black men we still have not completely embraced being affectionate with one another. Something as simple as how we hug tells a lot about where we are emotionally in the confines of our man and brotherhoods. And we also touched on how women are effected in our hoods as well. Women deal the hoods the same as men do. Lastly, we talked about the interactions between the gay and heterosexual male. How our hood language and slang may be taken too literal. Is "pause" and "no homo" really necessary if you are secure in your manhood? Are the LGBT entirely too sensitive? Or has the hood made us extremely hardened? We touched this as well.Tune In and let us know what you think about this episode. Follow Syer on all social media at @SyerSo. Also, find and follow his podcast, The Officially Street Podcast at @TOSPodcast_SO. You won't be disappointed with the #ESSO gang. Shouts out to Jayomega and Cherry Poppins, who along with Syer, create a wide range of content that will have you laughing uncontrollably, thinking, and possibly shedding a thug tear or two. THEY DO EVERYTHING...even music. Did I mention Syer got fire beats as well? He provided the sound bed underneath the conversation for this episode as well. Listen to Episode 12 of Change The Subject titled Good In Every Hood with BJ and Syer!!!

Perhaps it was the pressure free scenario in which they met, although Mitch made a conscious decision to pursue Erin it was because he took a genuine interest in her work and from there it all evolved. The initial distance between cities allowing them to be intentional with their communication and fast forward three years and now they work together! Mitch's very first wedding, like ever, was as Erin's assistant. Their romance is almost magical in an I wish it would just rub off on me kind of way and somehow it translates so well to them working as a team. They take us through their meet cute (cliché was necessary), first I love you and eventual transition to being creatives that produce quality work together.

In the debut episode of Cadaver Cinema Radio, Dustin is joined by Alexx Syer to look at the 1963 psychological horror film The Haunting (1963) Directed by Robert Wise. Ninety years ago, Hugh Crain builds the mansion Hill House in a remote area of New England. When his wife is moving to the mansion, she has an accident and dies, leaving the bitter Hugh Crain and his daughter Abigail alone in Hill House. Hugh Crain marries again and his wife also dies in Hill House. He moves to England and dies, living Abigail alone. When she is an old and invalid woman, she hires a paid companion from the village, but the woman neglects her and she dies. The companion inherits Hill House but the mansion drives her crazy and she commits suicide. In the present days (1963), Dr. John Markway rents the mansion from the inheritor Mrs. Sanderson to study the supernatural and prove the existence of ghosts. He invites the clairvoyant Theodora ‘Theo’ and the unbalanced and needy psychic Eleanor ‘Nell’ Lance to spend vacation in Hill House, and he goes with the skeptical future inheritor Luke Sanderson to the mansion. During the nights, the quartet witness supernatural manifestation in the house and the sanity of Nell is affected by her ghosts. Music: Haunting – Misfits
