Is this the best Bar-B-Que sauce in the world? Today we are discussing Head Country Bar-B-Q Sauce in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Donovan Fred Head, known as "Uncle Bud, was a Navy cook in World War II. He tinkered with the recipe and soon Uncle Bud had perfected the recipe and eventually started selling his sauce in local feed stores. Danny Head bought the family recipe from Uncle Bud and founded Head Country Food Products Inc in 1977. Today they still have their orignal recipe and still made with the same ingredients. Danny's BBQ Head Quarters—Ponca City - In 1945, Donovan 'Uncle Bud' Head had just returned to his Oklahoma home from serving as a cook on a naval destroyer in WWII. He brought with him recipes he whipped up aboard the ship using simple, wholesome ingredients. One of the recipes was a barbecue sauce that was an instant hit with everyone who tried it, thus Head Country Bar-B-Q sauce was born. The folks at Danny's BBQ Head Quarters in Ponca City put just as much thought into how the meat is prepared, so go expecting slow-cooked meats served by themselves or as a sandwich with a side of pickles and onions. Afterward, take home a bottle of Head Country, which comes in original, hickory smoke or hot. Ponca City settlers claimed townsite certificates during the Cherokee Outlet Opening, and oil made it into the thriving cultural center it is today. Honor the brave women who settled Oklahoma at the Pioneer Woman Museum & Statue. Tour the Italian "Palace on the Prairie," the Marland Mansion & Estate, built by oil baron and Governor E.W. Marland. Dig deep into Ponca City's oil history at the Conoco Museum, honor Native roots at the Standing Bear Park, Museum & Education Center or go green with a tour of the Lester & Mary Cann Memorial Botanical Gardens. Like many people around the world, Kala Sanmartin struggled to get to sleep. She was prescribed sleeping pills which helped but also hurt in different ways. She decided to seek a more sustainable solution and found that cannabis helped in major ways. As a registered nurse she wanted to learn all she could about the plant's health effects and history. She wanted to share what she learned, so she founded the Cannabis Nurses and the Canna Queens Club to help others learn the many ways cannabis can improve the quality of everyone's lives, and most especially women. Plus a check of Illinois' cannabis 2022 revenue, and a new player in legal cannabis makes a major move in the News Joint Wrap. Plus the Strain of the Week, Uncle Bud's delivery service and it's high time we stopped using the word marijuana, for good!Question or CommentSupport the show

Everyone loves to hear a good old-fashioned testimony about being saved right?! Additionally, She's currently working on a faith-based “how to start a blog” ebook.Jenasa is passionate about sharing her testimony because she believes the New Age movement has become a huge thing in the world. Joshua 1:9 "Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."I'm so excited about today's show. I'm with my good friend (and podcast editor) the inspirational Tammy Munson, and our conversation is so good! I know that you will absolutely love her as much as I do. I wanted to bring her on the show so we could talk about a topic that we've never talked about on Motherhood Unfiltered: Parenting a special needs child. Tammy is a proud mama of 2 adult daughters and wife to my hubby of 23+ years. She's a podcast editor, producer, and coach, as well as a special needs advocate. She loves Chick-Fil-A like it is her job. Her firstborn, Kiersten, was born with special needs and currently living her best life while dealing with her brain injury.Tammy believes everyone has a story to share, and she is obsessed with helping women share their stories, find their own voice, and create fantastic content. However, today Tammy is sharing her own story of walking alongside her daughter as they navigated Kiersten's needs and God working miracles every step of the way. Listen in as we talk about Tammy shares the traumatic experiences that caused her to be angry and doubt God's love for her and her daughter. If we could fully grasp the concept that there is nothing we could ever do to deserve or earn the love of God, then we would not only be able to see God's heart for those with disabilities but also His heart for us all. Tammy shares her advice for those special needs mamas who are in the hard season. While many industries took hits during the pandemic, Covid-19 set the stage for brands within the wellness industry, like Uncle Bud's CBD, to grow. Customers “were coming to us not necessarily because of hemp and CBD, but because they wanted hand sanitizer. “From just buying hand sanitizer now we've gained a longtime customer,” said Bruno Schiavi, Uncle Bud's CEO, on the Glossy Beauty Podcast this week. Schiavi co-founded Uncle Bud's in 2018 with Garrett Greller, a sufferer of arthritis since he was 14. “I wanted [Greller] to be the pillar of the brand,” said Schiavi, who added that his co-founder is “at the forefront of every campaign” along with mega ambassadors including basketball player Magic Johnson and actress Jane Fonda. “We wanted Uncle Bud's to be a brand for the people,” from 15 to 99 years old, said Schiavi. “We have everything for everybody, again, from pain relief to sun care to anti-aging, to pet products, [to] personal wellness,” ranging from $2.50 to $46.99 retail, he added. Before launching the brand's DTC site in January 2020, Schiavi ensured that Uncle Bud's CBD was “linked to big national retailers” like Walmart and The Vitamin Shoppe. This was largely for awareness, but also to combat the still challenging digital landscape that exists for hemp and CBD brands. As for the future, Schiavi hopes to expand Uncle Bud's reach even further as he looks to increase penetration in China and launch in Australia. “We have a strong plan for the next two to three years in terms of making sure that we grow our DTC business, making sure that we grow with the customers, and also expand with new customers," ” said Schiavi.

Are you a loved one or perhaps know of a friend currently walking through anxiety, depression, or both? So many times, Christians struggle to face mental illness, as we may feel it's somehow at odds with our faith. Faith, it seems, doesn't shield us from the everyday struggles of walking through a difficult season concerning our mental health. But whatever kind of anxiety or depression someone is facing, one thing's for sure: they're not the only ones. This couldn't be further from the truth.Today, I'm joined by my sister in Christ, Andrea Nyberg, as we share our own struggles with anxiety, depression, and accepting help through therapy and/or taking medication.Andrea M Nyberg is a wife and mom passionate about helping you reframe your faith, motherhood, and mental health with a both/and mindset. As a Christian who's struggled through the shame and confusion around "having the power of the Holy Spirit" yet feeling powerless against the disorders of anxiety and depression, Andrea offers solidarity that you are not alone if you're struggling. It's ok to seek medical help as you also look to God for hope and healing.RESOURCES : Connect with Andrea on Instagram and Facebook Sign up for Andrea's monthly newsletter offering hope, solidarity, and prayers at www.AndreaMNyberg.com and get instant access to her FREE ebook: Quick Tips to Manage Your Mood. Today on The Negotiation, we speak with fashion designer and entrepreneur Bruno Schiavi. With a background in the retail industry spanning 25 years, he has launched many brands internationally with some of the biggest companies and names in the world. His latest brand is Uncle Bud's Hemp and CBD, which focuses on topicals that cover everything from pain relief to anti-aging to bath and body. Uncle Bud's products are exclusively manufactured in the U.S. and are sold in over 15,000 stories locally. Garrett Greller is the Co-Founder of Uncle Bud’s Hemp. The company offers a collection of pain relief, skincare, sun care, personal care, and pet care products. He attended Indiana University from 2014 to 2016 and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Creative Advertising and New Media Marketing. The founding of Uncle Bud’s Hemp originated with a problem Garrett faced as a teen - at just 16 he was diagnosed with arthritis. He tried a variety of medicines to relieve his pain, but nothing worked. Eventually, he experimented with hemp oil from a dispensary and found that it greatly reduced his pain without any negative side effects. However, shortly after finding this helpful solution, he moved to Indiana for college where the oil was illegal. Garrett and his Dad decided they wanted to make their own legal hemp product for pain relief. They knew a manufacturer and began getting samples. Garrett tested everything on himself and found one that worked great. After experiencing relief from his chronic pain, he wanted to share his solution with others. It was then that Uncle Bud’s Hemp was born. While it was not smooth sailing to get Uncle Bud’s off the ground, it is now sold in every Wal-Mart nationwide and has been picked up by GNC, Amazon, Urban Outfitters, Kroger, Target, Ace Hardware, Big 5, and Vitacost. Through this roller-coaster journey, Garrett has learned a lifetime of business secrets in just a few short years. On this episode of Sales Secrets From The Top 1%, Garrett explains his top secrets to sales success and how to start implementing them in your career immediately!
Welcome to the Tell Me a Bedtime Story, Bedtime Stories Series, with Dr. Lori. This bedtime story is titled Black Sheep of the Family, by Thomas Davis, III. This is a short story published by Carolyn Banks and Janis Rizzo, in their collection of short stories titled A Loving Voice. This short story explores the tale of Uncle Bud and his unexpected demise, after first retelling the story of the narrator's unfortunate Sunday dinner with the Baptist preacher and a fork full of slimy, smelly okra. This story is a little country, a little silly, and filled with a bit of humor. I hope you have a good laugh, before you fall to sleep. Remembering your Mindfulness practices, I end this episode with a quote from Gary Zukav's book, The Seat of the Soul. Just a little something to think about. Please share this episode with friends and family members. Stories are selected with our older adults, who enjoy listening to a good read, in mind. If you are a Caregiver, I hope the bedtime stories allow you a few moments of relaxation, as your loved one listens. Please feel free to reach out to me with questions and comments at mindfulcaring@aol.com. You may visit our website @ thejamesmdixonfoundationinc.com. Thank you for listening and sharing, Dr. Lori

Plus, we’re talking about sustainability with Christopher Skinner, principal and founder of School House—and now a special correspondent to Fat Mascara. The Red Sox have lost 90 games in a season for the first time since 1966. With three games remaining, the Red Sox may very likely lose more than 90 games in a season for the first time since 1965. Following a weekend sweep at the hands of the Orioles, who are tied with the Yankees atop the AL East, Alex sets his eyes towards 2013. Jason Varitek was named a special assistant to GM Ben Cherington late last week? Is this a harbinger that Varitek may manage the team in 2014? Alex explains why that theory has a litany of holes to it, and a number of issues. David Ortiz made some comments last week comparing this year's team to the 2004 squad. Alex affirms Ortiz "gets it" here, and should return next season. But, it should still be done on the Red Sox's terms. In the "Around the League" segment, Alex looks at a variety of American League playoff scenarios entering the final three games of the season. Is it possible that one team may play two one-game playoffs? Amidst the recent NFL referee lockout, and current NHL lockout, Alex looks at the commissionership of Bud Selig. Uncle Bud isn't so bad after all... Email Alex at areimer@bu.edu, and follow him on Twitter @AlexReimer1. Post on the message boards at www.thesportsstuff.com/boards.

Birth, marriage and death records?
