Directed by Joseph Winter and Vanessa Winter, and starring Melanie Stone and Joseph Winter (who also co-wrote and produced the film), this found footage delight will put a massive smile on your face and make you consider buying a potato gun. In this episode, they also talk about cheeky horror comedies, likable idiots, and squishy practical effects. Enjoy!

Joseph and Vanessa Winter, the directing team behind Deadstream and V/H/S 99, successfully pulled off one of the hardest feats for any horror movie...a comedy that was actually funny, clever, and a bit scary. The concept on paper is pretty rock solid and does a good job at poking fun of social media influencer culture. High scores from both TJ and Chris of this Shudder Exclusive.

Vive En Attendant Godard.Vive le Cinéma._________Emission également disponible sur le tube:________TOP PARADE 2022Émission rapido presto best & worst of 2022. Plus, a discussion of Southern California and its place in genre cinema. We have covered some interesting films from Europe on this show. The one thing they all seem to have in common is their unique take on European culture. There is a creativity to them that is daring, exciting, and fun to watch. They are something of a throwback to the American indie film scene of the 1990s.H4Z4RD is a great example . The premise sounds simple enough. Noah loves his girlfriend and daughter. He wants to make sure to take care of them while also doing a favor for his brother. Unsurprisingly, things do not go as planned. Noah's day ends up involving drugs. wolves, and security guards who really like his car. We talk about the movie's pacing, music, and unique sense of humor. We close the show with one of the biggest horror releases of the month. Shudder recently announced that V/H/S/99 set the record for most watched movie premiere. We helped them set that record, so we decided we have a right to say whatever we want about it. We talk about surprise endings, feeling uncomfortable, and new contenders for best horror director.Adventures in Movies! is a part of the Morbidly Beautiful Podcast Network. "Did you ever hear the tragedy of Wrath of Shawn? I thought not. It's not a story the mainstream media would tell you. It's a YouTube legend. Shawn Ruddy was a Memelord of the Internet, so powerful and so controversial he could use his followers to influence the algorithms to generate views. He had such a knowledge of monetization that he could even keep the ones he cared about from being pranked. The dark side of online influencers is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be... unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his sponsors, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he paid a homeless man to fight him and then smuggled himself across the border. Ironic. He could save others from de-platforming, but not himself." - Shawn Ruddy. In this episode, our dynamic duo explore Deadstream, a modern horror/comedy hybrid written and directed by Joseph and Vanessa Winter. The latest addition to this venerable storytelling tradition, Deadstream tells the tale of a disgraced Internet personality, Shawn Ruddy, who spends a night in a haunted house as part of his career comeback, unwittingly entering into that unending battle of not-so-good versus evil. Maybe, sometimes the only way to fight evil is with an even greater evil. So when a demonic entity threatens to enslave the very souls of the dead for her own gruesome enjoyment, the only one who can stop her (or at least slow her down) is... a controversial YouTube streaming pseudo-celebrity? Maybe Shawn isn't the hero we need, but he's definitely the one we deserve. Carrying the torch for both low-budget horror and the found footage genre, Deadstream is an ambitious filmmaking endeavour to create horror gold with little more than a wing and an incantation. Tune in to hear the kind of fair and balanced dialogue you've come to expect from the Reel Film Chronicles as the boys explore the unholy ins and outs of this latest innovation in low-budget horror cinema... if you dare! Now if you are a new listener Gem Mint Horror is a show that centers around lesser known horror films in order to find you guys a new favorite horror movie. I am your host WolfMan Joel cause I idolize Wolf man Jack baby, Now tonights episode is on a film that I think is perfect since we are nearing Halloween is a movie that has the perfect balance of horror and comedy ! Did I mention it was Found Footage and fits the criteria of this show ? Yes yes although this film was just released this month on October 6th I feel more people need to watch it and that film is Deadstream !!! Deadstream is directed by a husband and wife duo Joesph Winter and Vanessa Winter, while Joesph is the main star of the film and I am surprised I have never heard of them before since they are so talented. Deadstream is about an internet personality tries to win back followers by live-streaming himself in a haunted house, simple back of the box and I love it. This is what the whole film is about and I always say the simpler horror films are usually the best. I hope you guys watch this film and you can do so on AMC or shudder, thanks for giving this show a listen. PUBLIC VERSION. Filmmakers Joseph and Vanessa Winter (V/H/S 99) discuss their career journeys together and the making of what Adam, Joe, and Arwen hail as “one of their favorite genre films of 2022” - DEADSTREAM! From meeting in film school and discovering just how well they worked together… to making their partnership official as both a filmmaking team and a married couple… to the importance of having a life partner who truly understands the absurdity of the entertainment business… to the ways that having children actually helped compartmentalize their work life and made their working hours even more productive than ever before… to what it was like to graduate film school and launch their careers right as the distribution landscape began its massive transformation from physical media to streaming… to making short films and short form content together for a full decade before making their first feature (DEADSTREAM - now streaming on Shudder)… to learning that it was far more productive to focus on their craft and telling the kinds of stories they actually wanted to tell as opposed to chasing trends or trying to create “viral hits”… to the importance of building their own film family in their home state of Utah… to the making of their absolutely incredible segment for V/H/S 99 (“To Hell and Back”)… to the perils of hanging wallpaper together… Joseph and Vanessa are perfect examples of filmmakers who are making big things happen for themselves TODAY and the journey they have taken so far is sure to connect with aspiring filmmakers everywhere!   Help save a child from having their Halloween ruined by watching the 24th annual ArieScope Halloween short film “COSTUME CRUELTY” now playing on www.ArieScope.com and on the ArieScope youTube channel!
