On this episode I interviewed Don Singe who is the Head of Performance at the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles.   This episode’s topic focused on the importance of training monitoring and recovery in order to still continually challenge players.   Topics discussed… When Don first started looking at how he could maximize recovery to continually challenge athletes. How he used to view this vs how he does now and his evolution over the years. Two sides to recovery being physical, but also the less talked about, mental side. How Don monitors and trains the mental side of athletes. How Don monitors and trains the physical side of athletes. When he focuses on one more vs the other in different parts of the season. How traits/backgrounds of an athlete can affect both physical and mental sides of performance and recovery. Michael Spitz (or Stip?) tells police that he and Danny Lewis killed and buried Don Lewis   Detective Jorge Fernandez called me this morning and said that he had a new lead in Don's disappearance.  He asked if the name Michael Spitz meant anything to me and it didn't.  He said that the guy claimed to work for Don and that he was short, chubby and alcoholic.  I asked if he was balding and he said no, that he had a full head of hair.  Dad said it sounded like a guy that sometimes worked at WOES who Dad called the Samoan, because of his Polynesian looks.   Michael Spitz claimed that he was working out at the Hwy 92 farm in Seffner, on the front end loader, on the Saturday before Don disappeared and heard two gun shots.  When he went to investigate he saw Don's son, Danny Lewis, standing about 15 feet away with a gun in his hand.  Don was dead on the ground, with two bullet holes in his head. Danny threatened Michael and his family if he were to ever tell.   They loaded Don into the bucket of the loader and covered him with palm leaves.  They buried him in a pit that was 60 feet by 200 feet and maybe 30 feet deep under concrete that they were filling the hole with.  Michael says he is dying of AIDS and only has a couple months left to live and wanted to come clean before he dies.  Jorge asked if they could go dig around and I told him that I had sold the property, but that I would try to locate the new owners for him.  I pulled it up on the computer and faxed it in with this note:   “Danny Lewis must be in his mid 30's.  I can't find anything that had any more than just the name:  Danny Lewis.  He should have a pretty extensive rap sheet.  Last time I saw him he was about 6 feet tall, blonde hair, bald on top.  Don said he was adopted, but he looked so much like Don that I always suspected he was an illegitimate son that had been unwittingly adopted by Gladys Lewis Cross.  Gladys Lewis Cross was last known to me as Gladys Lewis Cross at 1603 Lakewood Drive Brandon, FL.  33510.  She was always very protective of Danny, so I don't know if she would help.   Seems like Danny was in prison or rehab at the time that Don disappeared because when his sisters and the secretary all came in and tried to take over our business, Danny wasn't available to sign for himself, so Gladys Lewis Cross was representing him and using her address for his mail.     (Found this booking 6/14/2020)   These dates may help you fill in some of the pieces.  Don fired Danny March 30, 1994, but Don fired Danny a lot, so I am not sure that was the last time.  Don told me that his insurance policy draft in April of 1997 eliminated Danny and Don's Daughter, Lynda Sanchez as beneficiaries.   The person I couldn't think of was Alvin Coulter and I remember that he and Joe Ryan were the first people to call me asking about Don after he disappeared.  When Don was robbed and beaten by the masked intruder in the late 1980's he said that it was either Danny or Alvin Coulter and that either way they were in on it together.  Joe Ryan is the person who originally built the house that you said is falling down at the old “farm” on Hwy. 92.  Joe borrowed money to finish the home, didn't make his payments and we foreclosed on him, taking the property and his home.  Don and Joe were involved in litigation with Lazy Days at the time of his disappearance.   I asked my Dad if he remembered Michael Spitz and the closest he came to the description was someone that he called the Samoan, due to his Polynesian looks.  I don't know if this could have been the same person.  You said that Michael Spitz is dying and that is why he has come clean, but you also said that he feared for his family's lives, so I am wondering why that doesn't matter now.   As for the property, I sold it in August of 1999 to Promised Land Fund, who sold it in November of 1999 to David R. and James M. Chadwell.  Following is the Court record.  I don't have any contact info for the current owners.  I know there was a shallow pit that was excavated and refilled with concrete, just NE of the house, but that pit was only about 60 feet round.  I never saw how deep.  Don had buried a lot of stuff that he was being made to dig out by the EPA.  Don talked about a much bigger pit, more to the east of the house, closer to the water, that was the main source of the EPA complaint.  Perhaps the EPA has a site map?  I don't have anything in my file that shows it.  I do remember Don complaining about what the clean up was costing, so I would think it was a large amount of stuff being removed.   The dates Michael Spitz gave you were obviously wrong, and I am wondering if it happened later, how it was that Michael was still out there working?  Who was paying him?  The only person I remember living on that property, at that time, was Kenny Farr and Trish Farr.  No one came to me asking to be paid, or asking if they should keep working out there.  Please let me know if you discover any credible evidence.   Faxed the above to Jorge Fernandez  247-0537  reg. Ph. # 247-8663 10/18/01”   Jamie and Daniel Capiro left on the 17th for Australia.  I asked Alan Schreier if he would be more comfortable if I stay at their house until the 24th when they get back and he said yes.  He said he was moving to 804 Lakewood by the first week in November.   5/20/2020 Christopher Spata tells me that Mike Spitz was actually Mike Stip.  The photos above came from Spata too.  6/13/2020 Ripper Jack interviews Kenny Farr's ex-wire Trish who says this guy is “Mexican Mike” Garcia (I think.  I'd have to listen again) and claims that he and Kenny had brought Don's van, full of guns, to her marital home the day before Don disappeared.  She makes a lot of false claims, but Kenny did often drive our vehicles and could have been getting the guns ready for the barge trip to Costa Rica.  I think there was some news of this “Mexican Mike” being a contract killer.  The police later told me his story couldn't be true because Danny Lewis was locked up at the time.    I've been writing my story since I was able to write, but when the media goes to share it, they only choose the parts that fit their idea of what will generate views.  If I'm going to share my story, it should be the whole story.  The titles are the dates things happened. If you have any interest in who I really am please start at the beginning of this playlist: http://savethecats.org/   I know there will be people who take things out of context and try to use them to validate their own misconception, but you have access to the whole story.  My hope is that others will recognize themselves in my words and have the strength to do what is right for themselves and our shared planet.    You can help feed the cats at no cost to you using Amazon Smile! This was a letter to Detectives Lingo and Fernandez:   Nancy Heusted a WildLife volunteer at XXX or XXX approached me and said she had an encounter with Don just before he left that she thought was important.  Nancy is new here and didn't even know who Don was when he asked her to do him a big favor.  He told her that he had some very important errands to do and needed her to do tours for him.  She explained that she was new and didn't know how to do a tour.  He asked if she would sit out front and find volunteers to do tours as they came in.  This is all weird, because Don goes yard sale-ing on Saturdays and never takes any thought as to the operation of the refuge and he certainly never volunteers for doing tours.  She said from there he launched into a woeful account of how he wasn't important, and that nothing he did matters, no body loves him and on and on, much to her embarrassment.  She felt like whoever this person was, he was destined to commit suicide in the near future and she asked around to find out who he was.  No one relayed this story to me and Nancy left shortly thereafter for an extended trip.  Upon her return this week, she discovered Don's disappearance and thought that she should tell me about this incident.  She's three weeks late.  I asked how strongly she felt about this and she said she was a nurse and often deals with people in distress and thinks that if Don isn't here, it is of his own choosing.  She is willing to speak to the police about it.   I still have that bag of evidence from our search at the airport.  I also have copies of a stack of faxes between Don and his Costa Rican Attorney, and some from Vokker.  For what it's worth two groups of psychics came out and did their best and they concur that Don was kidnapped by smugglers who are flying through Mexico, and they also believe that Don will be returned somewhere just off the Georgia border at a rest stop where free coffee is served.  One group knew Don, the other was here on vacation from Oregon and did not know anything about Don.  They acted independent of each other on separate days.  If you think there is any value to this sort of help, then let me know and I'll forward their names and numbers.    As for a reward, I agreed not to offer one while you were actively investigating, but I haven't heard anything in a while.  Let me know when I can make this offer without messing up your search.  My attorney, Debbie Boje in conjunction with Jim Freeman said that the Insurance Company who insured Dod would certainly assist in finding Don.  They have over a million reasons to do so.  Can they contact you for leads, or can you do that?    Don't kids and I agreed to a Co Conservatorship to protect and maintain the assets while this is being sorted out.  Anne McQueen was originally in agreement but backed out because she thought the girls were being too generous in allowing me to continue supporting the wildlife sanctuary out here.  I don't understand why Anne would care, since the kids and I agreed that this was Don's passion and he would want it this way.   An onlooker's view of Anne's behavior in court this morning was that she acted like a caged snake, striking out at everyone.  That was Richard Dery XXX or XXX who Anne had subpoenaed to court.  I want to know why she was holding photos that appear good fuel for a blackmail case and how she came to be in possession of them.   Anne brought copies of an attempt at getting a restraint order that Don had applied for on 6/12/97.  I had gone down to apply that June while Don was still in Costa Rica, because he had threatened to turn the cats loose upon his return and although I expected him to calm down before returning home, (I had given away some of his precious trash) I wanted to know what had to be done ahead of time.  I was told that unless Don threatened to hurt me, then I could not get a restraining order, so I did not fill out the paperwork.  When Don went to the courthouse on June 12th he must have been told the same thing and said that I had threatened to kill him and that I had his gun and another gun.  All Don wanted to do was make sure that I could not get rid of any more of his junk, and lying is not a moral issue with him.  If that is what it took to get what he wanted, then he would say anything.  The judge denied his application saying Don was not in any immediate danger.  I'd like to talk to the people involved that day and see what the whole story was, but thought that you may want to do it first.    Let me know.  You can page me at XXX or leave a message at XXX or fax XXX.  Thank you.  Carole Lewis (I faxed it to the Sheriff on 9/10/97)   2020: I found my handwritten notes but no date that read as follows:   • Restraining Order  276-8100  Domestic Violence   • Petition Court for Guardianship | Money | Person & Money   • Petition to determine incapacity.   • 972-3000 - Respond Unit to p/u & take to psych unit.   • Dr. Gold XXX 3 weeks   • Mental Health XXX Joan   Based on what I recall going on at the time, I must have been looking into what would be necessary to have Don Baker Acted or declared mentally incompetent if he was in danger of hurting himself.  I remember scheduling the appointment for him to see Dr. Gold who was said to be an expert on Alzheimers, but Don disappeared before the appointment, so this note was probably written sometime around 3 weeks before his disappearance.

I'm sitting at “the lot” (Corner of 62nd and Broadway) at 7 am waiting to see if Anne comes in early to start hiding records.  I can see the lot across 62nd Street to the East where the two grandfather oaks still stand.  In 1981, when Don & I fell in love, our little love nest, a tattered travel trailer was parked between those big trees.  So many wonderful memories flood my mind that it is difficult to record yesterday's events.  I love and miss him so much.   Within 24 hours of Anne telling Don's girls about his disappearance, they managed to have  a pow wow electing Donna Pettis as their spokesperson and hired Ross Peaveyhouse, Esquire who advertised heavily as a Will & Probate Attorney.  They sure didn't leave any time for trying to find Don nor for grieving.  Anne & Donna Pettis called me from the office to let me know that they had decided to appoint a conservator (Anne).   Anne told everyone that there is no power of attorney, but then told me that she has my Will and the Power of Attorney I gave to Don in 1992 just before our Anniversary.  I asked about the reciprocal Will and Power of Attorney Don gave me that same day and she said it did not exist.  It seems strange that she can find mine, but not his.  They should have been kept together.  I had forgotten about preparing either  of the documents until she reminded me of mine that she had.  When Don had started going to Costa Rica so much we had revised his to add jurisdiction in any Country.  I have been too busy looking for Don and running our business and refuge to spend any great deal of time searching for a lost paper.  After the strange call from Anne and Donna Pettis, I spent the night searching until I located the original Will and Power of Attorney dated 11/96.   Knowing how bitter and suspicious of his kids Don was, I am dumbfounded that Anne would think it was okay to invite his daughters down to the office to go through the books and bank accounts.  These are the same girls who tried to take Don to the cleaners via his ex-wife and who Anne says “bald-faced lied” to the court to help their mom get another million dollar settlement four years after the first one.  I spent all day Thursday in the office with her and Madeline and let her hang herself with her own rope.  (A nice little rope trick my mother taught me.)   I remember the first Christmas Don and I shared in our little love nest.  Don had set up the cutest little tree and had decorated it all in white angels.  Angel was what Don has always called me.  He was the one who started me collecting angels.  He bought a nameplate for me that said “Angel”.  He brought me little plastic angels and when Pearlie Mae died he sent a ceramic angel praying over a cat.  It still sits on my desk to remind me that “all good kitties go to heaven”.   I made curtains for our love nest and tried to make it cheery because often I'd sit there for hours waiting for him to find time to sneak back there to see me.  Don had told me his name was Bob Martin and that he was just a lot boy for his slave driving employer, Don Lewis.  That was why he would have to sneak around to see me.  I was 19 and “Bob” Don was my life.  It was a year or more later before one of Don's new secretaries accidentally gave away his secret.   This just in:  Paul Newman in Costa Rica triplex called to ask when Don's flight will be arriving on Sunday.  I updated him and he at least pretended to be surprised and said he would call if Don showed up down there.  I told him to let Don know that his kids are seizing his assets and figured that would get Don on the phone right away.   Later that day:  I drove to the office 3 hours early and noticed that several other people seemed to be watching the building.  How many laps around the block can you make in a pickup truck towing a boat and not look suspicious?  The little green compact car must have made twenty laps alone.   At 9:15 Donna Pettis drives up and tells me that Anne did not want to give me the keys to the office and that she was meeting with her attorney.  Donna Pettis wanted me to come with her to her Attorney's office to appoint a conservator, but I told her that I was not comfortable speaking with her attorney since I am still un-represented.  We drove off and I called my dad and asked him to get guys and trucks and come to the office.   Suspecting there would be a huge fight, I drove home to get my Power of Attorney.  The code for the alarm that Anne gave me the night before, must have been changed, because we could not shut off the alarm and the police arrived.  I showed them the POA and my dad explained the situation to him, so he left.  We loaded all of the file cabinets and drawers that we could fit into the two pickup trucks and the Jeep.   In the interim, Anne accompanied by her attorney, came in and she asked for her personal items.  She tried to take the Don Lewis and United Truck and Trailer check books, but Kenny Farr caught her and made her put them back.  She admitted to having $2200.00 in cash from the weeks rent payments, but refused to turn it over.  She said she was going to turn over $250,000.00 in properties in her name to the Attorney, Leroy Merkle and that I shouldn't bother her about the $2200.00.   Then she started screaming and crying that I took her two tins of pennies, nickels and dimes that she was saving for her grand babies and a box with her personal files in it.  I told her that the Jeep was already packed, but that I would sort through it carefully and return anything of hers to her.  She had a fit and demanded that we unload until we found her boxes, and I refused and her attorney told her she should try to leave gracefully.  She kept trying to finagle the boxes, but I wouldn't give in.   There must be a reason she would put up such a huge fight, for what was supposed to be just her tax records and personal memorabilia.  In her hysteria she said, in front of her attorney, my dad and Kenny Farr that she had compromised her scruples for Don for the last time.  When I asked what she meant she said that Don made her forge documents and sign other people's names.   Donna Pettis and her husband both came and tried to slow us down, as did Wendell, but we just kept packing until we were out of room.   I was last in our convoy and picked up Burger King meals for everyone as we approached the refuge.  It was about 2:00 pm at the latest when we ate and then began unloading.  I spent the rest of the day and most of the night separating the old from the new and our business records from Anne's personal life.  One box seemed to hold nothing but the tax and medical records of the last few years for her and all of her children.   I started to just set that box by the door for her, but remembered how adamant she had been and resigned myself to the boring task of going through it a page at a time.  Hidden within the pages I found a treasure trove of documents that would be worth a small fortune to the highest bidder.  Foremost, was the Will and Power of Attorney that Don executed in 1992 naming me as his attorney and sole heir (the one she said never existed, despite the fact that she notarized the thing), secondarily was the original 1988 GALTA Trust which left the remainder of our estate to Don's children (even though this had been revised and originals left with Anne that removed his children entirely) and last but not least the most recent original PSRL Land Trust.   I can't think of any reason why she would need to hide these in a box filled with only her personal documents.  They have no trash pickup there so Don brings the office trash here and it is often burned, which means someone could accidentally stumble across these documents if she were to try and throw them away.   The safest way to dispose of them would be to slip them into a box from her home and destroy or hide them there.  This box was under her desk and had nothing else in it, except her personal stuff.   The rest of the stuff I found made me wonder what it is that she and Madeline do all day.  It was the biggest, nastiest, dustiest mess you've ever seen, with no rhyme or reason.  Still in the top desk drawers were receipt books and deposit slips from the early 1980's.  Everything it would take to run that office would fit in two file cabinets, if it were all in the same two cabinets.  The house next door to Anne's, that she keeps insisting was her own doing and nothing of Don's, was paid for with 4 cashier's checks purchased by Don and made payable to the Clerk of the Circuit Court.  I wonder if Don knew?   I found a pile, two inches thick of all of the tax certificates held in mostly Anne's name and some in Gale Rathbone's name.  These will be paying off for years and I would never know.  I found arrest records on Anne's son Jesse (who she said hated Don, but the feeling was mutual).  The police report said that Jesse cut someone off in traffic for shooting him a bird and Jesse roared up, blocking traffic, opened the guy's door and punched him in the mouth hard enough to bust it open.  His hearing is coming up Sept. 2, 1997 and Anne has just been bragging to everyone about how she raised her kids right from watching all the mistakes Gladys Lewis Cross and Don made in raising their brood.   The detectives asked me to fax them maps to the properties in Costa Rica when they called me at the office earlier today.  Donna Pettis had called them raising Cain because I was moving the office. I asked the detectives if they had a problem with that, and they asked if they could look at it when it gets to its new location.  I told them they could and they said there was no problem with me moving stuff then.  I also faxed them the long distance calls that Sprint sent and asked if they want me to check them out, or asked if I should wait until they do a preliminary search.  I reminded them of how weird I thought it was that Alvin Coulter and Joe Ryan were the first to call and ask me to keep them posted on any news about Don.   Same date, different entry:   Friday 9:00 am passed and no sign of Anne but Donna Pettis, Don's eldest daughter, pulled up and told me she and her sisters were meeting with their attorney and going to have Anne appointed as Conservator so that no one but Anne would have access to the office.  She asked me to come with her to her Attorney and consent to this order and I told her I needed to find legal counsel and would meet with them later.  I told her that I had Don's Power of Attorney and that there was no need to appoint a conservator to run our business.  Thinking back on how defensive Anne had been and all of the illegal transfers to her maiden name, I reasoned that she had persuaded Don's children to appoint her conservator so that she could destroy all documentation giving me the authority to run the business since she always had originals of the Power and the Will and the Trusts, although since Don's disappearance she has started saying she didn't remember the documents but that she was looking for them for me.   I called our crew and told them to bring every man and every vehicle they could find to the office. In three hours all of the files we could load were on their way to my home.   For entertainment purposes only.

Introduction On September 30, 1935, a crowd of 20,000 people watched President Franklin Roosevelt commemorate the Hoover Dam. At the time, this was the tallest dam in the world. In the upcoming episode, I'm going to tell you about the life and career of the man that even the Hoover dam…could not contain. Early life This time as we step off our DeLorean, the date is January 31st, 1913 and we are in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. You see this is where our hero is born. Our hero this time is Donald Roy Hutson, who we are just going to go ahead and refer to as “Don Hutson” for the rest of this episode. When Don was a little guy back in the day, he was a boy scout and also played with snakes. He always said that he believes this is what gave him his quickness and agility. Which would end up making him one of the most dominating wide receivers of all time. Don went to Pine Bluff's High School and you would think that we would talk about him being a star football player there. But, he actually didn't start football until he was a senior. He basically only played for one year. He was a star baseball player and he ran track. This dude was super fast. He had a 9.7 speed for the 100-yard dash, which that was at the time, pretty much unheard of. And like I said, he did play football for that one year and was pretty good, but he was mostly recruited over to Alabama for being a star baseball player. He would graduate high school in 1931. And then, he would go to the University of Alabama on a partial baseball scholarship to play center field. But hey, I thought we were talking about football here, and I'm like yeah we are. But he had barely just started playing football the previous year. He had only played one in high school. So he didn't really have the opportunity to get recruited to go and play for the University of Alabama. He would become a walk-on for the football team. But due to his insanely fast 100-yard dash time, he would end up making the team. Although he would not play much as a freshman or a sophomore, he kept on going. This was the year where he really got his college career going. You see, in this junior year he would end up getting more playing time as a starter and he would end up being voted All-American in 1934. Which is also the year he would lead Alabama to a 10-0 record and a national title. And on this team, in Alabama on the other end (they didn't really call them wide-receivers, they called them “ends”), was a pretty famous cat in Support this podcast

On today’s episode, we are going to switch the tables to learn more about the ultimate underdog, Dr. Don MacDonald. Don shares how his last 18 years of being in chiropractic have been like. When Don was starting out his practice, he apparently loved chiropractic and the potential of what it could do for people, and then, it became not that for him. During the first seven years of his practice, everything seems like such a price for him that he lost any vision of what the promise was. Don was able to keep the practice at a good volume and still did a lot of things for the profession, but it was at a huge detriment to his health. He had gone through a couple of issues and trauma that not only burned him out mentally but also his health. He felt broken, hurt, and exhausted all the time. What Don realized was he was not doing what he needed to do to take care of himself. What he did is he focused on his body and on few things that he knew are going to make the most significant difference in his practice. Aside from perseverance, another key to his success is his wife, Brandi, who supports him of what he does. Get all the resources for this episode and listen to more at http://www.drdonmacdonald.com/

My guest for this week's episode of the Ultimate Guide to Partnering is Don Yaeger, whose latest book with Chicago Cubs Catcher David “Granpa Ross” just landed at #10 on the New York Times Bestseller list. In this episode this 10-time NYT best-selling author and award winning speaker discusses the attributes of successful partnerships and teams ! As a former Associate Editor for Sports Illustrated, Don built a reputation as one of America’s most provocative thought leaders. As a speaker, he is often sought to discuss lessons on achieving greatness, and learned from experiences with some of the greatest sports legends. And he’s been invited to every major talk show – from Oprah to Nightline, from CNN to Good Morning America. Learn more about Don here. Don and I discuss the attributes of great teams and great partnerships gleaned from his book Great Teams.  Some key takeaways from the interview: A shared "purpose" at a deep level is important to the success of both great teams and great partnerships. Understanding "leadership style" and how to apply it to your partner and team's situation is important. Its equally important to understand your partners leadership style and adapting to ensure the most successful collaboration and the long term success of the partnership. "Comraderie" and a sense of "collective direction" were key to the 2013 Boston Red Sox's successful turnaround and drive to a World Series and how these attributes apply to teams and partnerships. Why "embracing change" is critical for partners looking to survive and thrive in this age of rapid digital transformation - the best teams are constantly out ahead. How David Ross changed his "mindset" to serve his team and ensure his destiny. More can be learned in Don's latest New York Times Bestseller, TEAMMATE - by David Ross and Don Yaeger. As with each of my episodes, I ask Don to share his advice for our listeners on personal and professional growth. Best advice you were given when you started out - When Don graduated Ball State with a degree in journalism in 1984, his dad suggested he use each interview to learn a lesson that would also serve him. In over 2500 interviews, Don asked this one question, "If you could point to ONE HABIT that allowed you to do what others could not do, what would that habit be?" Don distilled this to his book "Greatness - The 16 Characteristics of True Champions" - by Don Yaeger.  Favorite lesson - from his interviews and talks with legendary coach John Wooden, "constantly pay attention and manage your inner circle". Don was a part of John Wooden's mentorship program and met with him often, resulting in the book - A Gameplan for Life. Favorite Quote - "Make each day your masterpiece" - from John Wooden. Advice he'd give his 25 year old self - "Slow Down". Which is great advice and something I'd recommend to all early in career listeners. Favorite or most gifted book - "The Notebook"- by Nicholas Sparks". What Don would put on a billboard, "Greatness is a journey and not a destination". When Don and Alex Tapscott began writing “Blockchain Revolution”, not a single bank was investing in the revolutionary technology. Now virtually every company in the financial services industry is investing heavily as they realize this new technology is the second generation of the internet - the “internet of value”. In this exciting episode of AQ’s Blog & Grill, we are honored to have Don and Alex on to discuss their new book and the implications and opportunities in blockchains. Currently, when sending assets, we rely on intermediaries like banks to ensure trust, verify parties and perform the transaction logic. “These intermediaries do an okay job”, Alex states, “but with some pretty significant limitations.” Alex walks us through the limitations these intermediaries face and how blockchain technology fixes these problems. “Blockchain Revolution” delineates several new business models that can be adopted by any company, and Don and Alex describe one example that found success with a blockchain. They share their thoughts on how blockchains will change the definition of work and the job market, and how companies need to re-architect their businesses as opposed to adjusting their strategies. Don and Alex provide examples of ways entrepreneurs and start-ups can and are using blockchains to disrupt and revolutionize other industries in an “explosion of innovation.” We finish by discussing how we all, entrepreneurs, government , business leaders etc., need to work hard to achieve this future and exploit the blockchain potential. “Technology itself doesn’t create prosperity,” Don states, calling on all to lead this revolution in a positive way. Leave your comments below and subscribe to the AQ’s Blog & Grill mailing list for your chance to win a copy of Don and Alex Tapscott’s “Blockchain Revolution”.   About Our Guests Don Tapscott is one of the world’s leading authorities on innovation. Don DiBrita Offline Internet Marketing Craft Beer Geek Don DiBrita and I met on Blab. It was fun getting to know Don DiBrita - Offline Internet Marketing Craft Beer Geek. Don is the founder of Offline Internet Marketing where he helps local small business owners that are struggling to engage their audience by offering community building strategies to grow their busienss. He also founded BeerDogging.com which is one of the largest beer clubs in the United States. He works with breweries and industry folks on all kinds of different projects to help market the craft beer industry. Currently, he is working with "Beer for Dummies" author Marty Nachel on the casting process for his reality web series the "#1 Beer Fan". The conversation quickly dove into Don's experience for his marketing success. He has a corporate background in training and an MBA in human resource training and he has a lot of experience in sales and marketing. When he started the beer club, he found the marketing element to help other businesses, it was a logical progression that worked out well. He started helping breweries, bars and retail shops with the various aspects of local marketing. He really dove into his consultancy by helping create unique messages for each of his clients without sounding like a vaccuum cleaner salesman. Don realized a big shift happening in this industry. He found that most of the small business owners had a "Tell Don't Sell" attitude. He found most owners went on to their social media accounts and weren't engaging properly. It's like a little mouse standing on the street corner, very quietly, saying "hey, buy my stuff". Many people teaching online marketing strategies are using one workflow that incorporates seo, keyword searches, sales funnels and tripwires. The small business owners didn't really understand this process. He found that many of the business owners really enjoyed the face to face approach, knew they had to generate an online presence to stay competitive, but they just didn't enjoy that aspect of the business. This is why many of these businesses are wary of online marketers. Offline Internet Marketing During the interview, I asked Don if he could explain what "Offline Internet Marketing" actually meant. Don is pretty witty and came back with a quick joke about wishing his wife was on the line because she is has a masters degree in literature and always correcting Don when he mentions his company. Don goes on to explain the reason he chose this name was that to him, it sounded like a play on words. He goes on to say that there is a lot of online marketing happening right now, but the offline aspect to business outlines the principals that many of the small businesses he works with have done well for years. Share on Twitter Many of these small businesses were transitioning over to the internet trying to figure out how to market their products and services. They were getting in touch with the big marketing gurus. While many of the people are good, and even those that are, may not be teaching the best strategies for that particular small business. The offline program is a great solution for local business markets, but Don can help these offline relationship and marketing tactics with any small business across the globe. He helps these local small business owners by sharing what he did by going into his local market and interacting. Don likes to use his personal experience when talking with new prospects. When Don first started, he didn't know anyone and no one really knew him. He started out by attending live events. He talked to others about how passionate he was about the topic. He started leveraging these relationships to build his business. He started writing a few blogs and grew from there. The Craft Beer Geek Beer Dogging is one of the largest beer clubs in the United States. They currently have over 10,000 members. They do a variety of things from education to offering deals at differ...
