This week, we're drinking a Fan Zone IPA from Ellicottville Brewing. Formally "Tailgate Time IPA", this re-branding is still the same recipe we fell in love with last year. Quite possibly the best beer Ellicottville makes, and based on their portfolio, that's high praise for this Football-Season staple. Grab one wherever great beer is sold. Also, check out Marc from Mount Morris's suggestion from Underground Beer Labs called Variance: Nectaron. Welcome to a retrospective episode of Western New York Brews! I’ve hesitated releasing anything for 42 because of how significant the number is. Episode 42 is easily the most important number I’ve recorded so far, and probably the most significant until episode 100. It is after all, the ultimate answer to life, the universe, and everything. It’s been 41 episodes so far (in more time than it should have taken) and I finally figured out what I should do. Using the theme of life, the universe, and everything, I thought I would talk about what we’ve done and what I’ve been planning in regards to WNY Brews. Your Brain on Hops has completed its first collaboration! The hosts met up with Scott, host of the WNY Brews podcast, at his Watch Your Heads Podcast Studios. They drink some homebrews, and talk brewing stories, including both solid techniques and hilarious mishaps. They also discuss their go-to "trapped on a desert island beer," the virtues of Fig Newtons, and proper BBQing. This episode is Part Two of the collaboration, so make sure you check out WNY Brews for Part One! (though you can listen to them in any order, since plot isn't one of our strong points)

This was fun!The Buffalo Niagara Brewers Association presented the first annual  Brewers Invitational at Pettibones Grill in Coca-Cola Field on Saturday, April 2nd. They had over two dozen breweries showing off some experimental flavors! It seemed to be the "year of the sour" with something like 8 or 9 examples.Trust me when I say you should listen to the end. The Buffalo Beer League stopped by the WNY Brews table and talked to any brewer who walked by.Check out the Buffalo Bear League and The BNBA at their webpage:http://www.buffaloniagarabrewersassociation.orgAs always, please check out at: WNYBrews.comPlease review the podcast on iTunes and Stitcher: Learn How to Rate UsPlease connect with us: Scott@WNYBrews.com Facebook.com/WNYBrewsTwitter.com/WNYBrews WNY Brews on UntappdWNYBrews on Youtube (716) 391-CAST See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
