"Work Doesn't Have To Suck!" Chad Gono Tells Us How

In today's episode Paul and Leah have a chat with Chad Gono, the CEO of Regal Plastics and he explains to us how "Work Doesn't Have to Suck."  This is not only his LinkedIn tagline, but it is what he genuinely believes and uses as his leadership compass.     Growing up Chad was not looking to work at his family's business because he wasn't interested in plastics and he had an entrepreneurial spirit and wanted to foster it.  But after some time he decided to join the business from the bottom up.  He found that it was just a job for most employees and he felt people should really enjoy what they are spending most of their days doing.  So Gono was on a mission to create a work environment that employees loved, and a place where people wanted to go.  Fast forward to today's culture at Regal Plastics and you will find a place where employees are friends and are choosing to hang out with each other outside of the workplace.   Gono talks about how their mission  went from a price tag and the bottom line to creating 500 stories in 10 years of how their company is helping to create a better world.  In this conversation I truly grasped the fact that changing the world to be a better place can be done anywhere and with any company/business.  Regal Plastics is using the sale of plastics as their vehicle to bring more good to this world.   We discuss the idea of using work culture to win the war on talent in a time where it is hard to find good employees.  They use the idea of not focusing on the work stuff and profits and spending more time focusing on the life stuff to get people to want to work at their company.   Chad Gono is continuing to spread his word of how work doesn't have to suck on his social media platforms.  His posts are inspirational and are spreading words of kindness.  Be sure to follow him on LinkedIn at Chad Gonoand on TikTok at ChadgonoSupport the showWe continue to try our best to bring you all worthy content to help you put your life first. Today Leah and Paul are talking with Sarah Armstrong, Google's Vice President of Global Marketing Operations and author of The mom's Guide To A Good Divorce:  What To Think Through When Children Are Involved.   Her book on how to have a "good divorce" was created from her own life experience, in an effort to help other mother's in the same situation.  Sarah explains that 13 years ago she and her ex husband went through a divorce, when their child, Grace was seven years old.  She and her ex husband were determined to make sure that their divorce had the least amount of impact on their daughter as possible.  In doing so the two of them worked very hard at making sure the process was amicable and little strain on Grace's life style.  After successfully pulling off a "Good Divorce" and years of lending advice to her friends who were going through divorce with children, she choose to write this book to help other mother's who are where she was.Sarah had so many great tips to assist in the process.  Tips that we should all be implementing in our lives, whether you are going through divorce or not.  There are discussions around how to set boundaries and share them aloud, how to plan out family calendars, and how to make dedicated time for your kid and for yourself.Visit Sarah Armstrong on her website www.momsguidetogooddivorce.com/ or on LinkedIn.  Her book, The Mom's Guide To a Good Divorce: What To Think Through When Children Are Involved can be purchased in hardback through Amazon, Barnes and Nobles, Ibooks, and Book Depository; or listen to it on Audible.Support the showWe continue to try our best to bring you all worthy content to help you put your life first.
