The Seven Streams Method

Jeremiah 33-35 We are in the Prophetic Stream using the New American Standard Bible this week. 7streamsmethod.com | @7StreamsMethod | @serenatravis | #7Stream | Donate Commentary by Dr. Drake Travis Lord we heard your astonishing prophecy to restore and return gloriously with your people one day - for Jerusalem to be inhabited by a blessed and chosen people.  We believe that for us still today - that we are destined for the New Jerusalem.  Amen. 33 - Here we are into the second half of Jeremiah and it is good to remember that Judah was a tribe and a nation that enveloped Jerusalem.  There was right about 400 years between David ruling there and Babylon breaking in to burn the city flat and haul Judah away in exile.  There were 20 kings in that 400 year period and most were bad men.  So how can there be a line of David that rules forever? how can there be any good news at all when the leaders were derelict most of the time?  Still Jeremiah declares that God intends to heal and restore Judah...and Israel to the glory God intended. God will bring wealth and peace and abundance to them.  'Hard to see that indeed with enemies at the gate, and it's hard to believe that when the city's destined to be laid to waste and consequently desolate for several decades.  Nevertheless, life SHALL return to Judah.  It has been prophesied.            And it is stated for reiteration that there is a leader from the line of David who will come; He is the Righteous Branch.  He will be bring justice and it will affect the whole earth.  He is 28 generations following David as his 26th (generation) grandson.  The family line is listed and counted in Matthew 1 if you care to brush up on this. 34 - The prophecy here against Zedekiah is unfortunate.  He was told that Babylonians were a force too powerful to resist so just submit to exile and go without fight or flight.  He was also told to declare the slaves set free here before the siege upon Jerusalem actually happens.  The slaves' owners did this ... and then took them all back in disobedience to scripture and the current prophecy.  This was wrong and Zedekiah was passive about it offering no rebuke to those who owned servants.  Zedekiah later disobeyed the Lord when Jerusalem was being sacked.  He was a poor diplomat, poor king, poor leader, and poor servant of the Lord.  He paid for it severely (his imminent capture is one of the worst vignettes~ in the Bible, btw.) 35 - Jeremiah points out and employs the Recabite people in a live illustration put forth before the Judeans.  The Recabites were people who had committed to live in tents v.s. dwellings and to not do the normal things of engaging in agriculture, growing vineyards, making and drinking wine.  They were still committed to refraining from alcohol as their ancestors had decreed.  Their resolve is revered as spiritual obedience.  This contrasted against the contemporary Judeans make for a teaching moment that had serious teeth to it.  The Recabites had their commitments and honored God this way.  Whereas virtually all the Judeans were base and committed only to their impulse to live sinfully.

Tongan captain Sonatane Takulua gave an emotional speech following his side's 102-0 loss to the All Blacks on Saturday night, saying there's a lot going on behind the scenes many don't know about.Tonga called upon 13 players to make their debut for the nation against the All Blacks at Mt Smart, with several of their top players not released from their European clubs while others are still in quarantine. The Tongan side got off to a horror start as the All Blacks ran in four tries in the first 10 minutes of the match. However, as the game went on, they had small moments where they were able to test the All Blacks. With the All Blacks conceding 13 penalties, Tonga had chances to get on the board from the tee from close range but instead chose a more attacking option."A lot of people don't know what we're going through behind the scenes," Takulua said. "Some of us are still in quarantine. I'm proud of the brothers for putting their hands up to come and represent the jersey and represent our little country. I hope we did you proud."We didn't get the result tonight but I'm very proud of my brothers here. We came here to do our best for all the supporters. Thank you for coming tonight to support the boys. This is all we can do, just give it our all."While a big match in the context of opponent, the test against the All Blacks on Saturday night was not the most important game of the international window for Tonga, who now turn their attention to two tests against Manu Samoa which double as World Cup qualification matches. The sides will meet at Mt Smart Stadium next Saturday while the All Blacks meet Fiji in Dunedin, before playing again the following week in Hamilton in the first match of a double-header, with the All Blacks again meeting Fiji afterwards. The winner of that two-match series will qualify for the World Cup, while the other will have to play against the Cook Islands for the right to proceed to an Asia/Pacific World Cup qualification playoff.

I guess I just can't get enough of that good stuff.. .. :) but at any rate this week I've decided to bring you a rather rare treat. Back in 1971, the band finished a short, 3 show swing in the Northwest with this blistering performance in a small venue in Seattle on a Sunday night. This took place on January 24, 1971. This one is sparkin' from beginning to end, but I've split it up so we will hear part 1 this week and part 2 next week. It starts appropriately, with Truckin', then a wonderful China>Rider, which includes an incredible transition between the two. Pigpen follows with  the old blues standard - 'It Hurts Me Too'. A blistering Cumberland Blues follows, then a better than average 'Casey Jones' - Pig has some nice organ work here!  Sugar Mag closes set one in fine fashion and I can only imagine that everyone was dancing now! I've included the great Pigpen version of  'Hard to Handle' which opened set 2, and gives you a hint of things to come next week.      Grateful Dead Seattle Center Arena Seattle, WA 1/24/71 - Sunday One Truckin' China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider   It Hurts Me Too   Cumberland Blues   Casey Jones   Sugar Magnolia Two     Hard To Handle   You can listen to this week's Deadpod here:  http://traffic.libsyn.com/deadshow/deadpod012921.mp3  Thank you so much for your kind support of the Deadpod!

After a couple of verses and a quite interesting solo from Garcia, Bobby introduces Etta James who takes command of the song, and indeed most of the set! This is a great blues set with 'Tell Mama' coming next. They slow things down with a funky 'Baby What You Want Me To Do' but then the spirit of Pigpen returns with a fine 'Hard to Handle' - Etta is really digging Garcia's work here as you'll hear. They close with a fine 'Midnight Hour' to wind down the set.  The boys come back, by themselves to deliver a sweet 'Brokedown Palace' encore. On the tape we get to hear Bill Graham send the crowd home as only he would...    Oakland Auditorium Oakland, CA 12/31/82 - Friday Three     Turn On Your Love Light > Tell Mama ; Baby What You Want Me To Do ; Hard To Handle ; In The Midnight Hour Encore     Brokedown Palace Comments     Third set with Etta James and tower of Power             Now I decided since this was  a shorter set, to include some music I've been wanting to play over the holidays that is just a hot little jam.. this comes from a set variously labeled 'Mickey and the Heartbeats' or 'Jerry Garcia and Friends'.. from Christmas eve, 1968 at the Matrix in San Francisco. I think the sound is out of sight for such an old tape..    The Matrix San Francisco CA, 12/24/68 - Tuesday Mickey & The Heartbeats Jam    You can listen to this week's Deadpod here:  http://traffic.libsyn.com/deadshow/deadpod011521.mp3   Thanks so much for your kind support of the Deadpod!!    a small reminder that we are also on Facebook and I post the links on Instagram weekly.

Today on Sojourner Truth: Is biomass fuel the answer to containing the spread of wildfires? Or is it simply another false solution taking away focus from the relationship between climate change and the increasing frequency and intensity of wildfires? On Tuesday, November 24, environmental justice organizations around the world will mark the International Day of Action on Forest Biomass. What is biomass fuel? Why are environmental activists opposed to it? For our weekly Earth Watch, our guest is Rachel Smolker. She is co-director of Biofuelwatch, where she works to raise awareness of the impacts of large scale bioenergy on climate, the environment and human rights. Her work has spanned from local grassroots organizing to participation in the United Nations conventions on climate and biodiversity. She is on the steering committee of the Campaign to Stop GE Trees. She has a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, and worked previously as a field biologist. She lives in Vermont where she is organizing resistance to a fracked gas pipeline and to logging on public lands. Across the U.S. South and Midwest, farm workers are waging labor struggles against corporate exploitation and toxic work environments. Farm workers are among the most underpaid workers in the United States and often work in perilous conditions. They're also forced to live in cramped quarters, making them more vulnerable to COVID-19. Our guest is Stephen Bartlett. Stephen is the Coordinator of Sustainable Agriculture of Louisville, which aims to create a joyous, diverse, and sustainable community of well-nourished people and well-compensated farmers and food workers. Stephen is also a member of Louisvillians Showing Up For Racial Justice. Also, we speak with Eleanor Goldfield who made the brand new and well-reviewed film, "Hard Road of Hope." It tells the story of how migrants were brought to West Virginia to work in the coal mines and how they worked together against dangerous and oppressive working conditions.

24mins at 26spm - MID TIER WORKOUT Pace Guide = 2K+10-12 Effort Guide = 7-8 (will end closer to 9.5-10/10) Speech = Not constant ❗This is a solid MID workout. Better described as plain old 'Hard'. If you don't stick to the pace guide, you'll slip into TOP tier for it. I don't know if it was just the heat, but I start this one at 2k+10 - and really suffered because of it and had to drop to -12. ❗ The point of this workout is that it will feel hard. +12 is 3 seconds slower than my PB pace, so there should be room in here to work hard, and not be destroyed. Much harder than a BOTTOM tier - but even with the heat, it still wasn't a full on TOP tier effort. This session is equivalent to the 'Hard Distance' workout in the Pete Plan - where you're advised to cover 5/6000m at a hard effort. You don't have to stick to my stroke rate, or to my pace guide - just make sure this workout is a HARD effort, and you don't back off.
