The catechesis of the day of Tiziana, Apostle of the Interior Life
- Press the PLAY button to listen to the catechesis of the day and share if you like -+ A reading from the holy Gospel, according to Matthew +Peter approached Jesus and asked him, “Lord, if my brother sins against me, how often must I forgive him?As many as seven times?”Jesus answered, “I say to you, not seven times but seventy-seven times. That is why the Kingdom of heaven may be likened to a king who decided to settle accounts with his servants. When he began the accounting, a debtor was brought before him who owed him a huge amount.Since he had no way of paying it back, his master ordered him to be sold, along with his wife, his children, and all his property, in payment of the debt.At that, the servant fell down, did him homage, and said, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay you back in full.'Moved with compassion the master of that servant let him go and forgave him the loan. When that servant had left, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a much smaller amount. He seized him and started to choke him, demanding, ‘Pay back what you owe.'Falling to his knees, his fellow servant begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay you back.'But he refused.Instead, he had the fellow servant put in prison until he paid back the debt. Now when his fellow servants saw what had happened, they were deeply disturbed, and went to their master and reported the whole affair. His master summoned him and said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you your entire debt because you begged me to.Should you not have had pity on your fellow servant, as I had pity on you?'Then in anger his master handed him over to the torturers until he should pay back the whole debt.So will my heavenly Father do to you, unless each of you forgives his brother from his heart.”When Jesus finished these words, he left Galilee and went to the district of Judea across the Jordan. The Gospel of the Lord.
Allan Bartlam | Matthew 21:28-32 [Jesus said,] 'What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, "Son, go and work today in the vineyard." "I will not," he answered, but later he changed his mind and went.' 'Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, "I will, sir," but he did not go. Which of the two did what his father wanted?' It's a simple story and the crowd have no difficulty in coming up with the right answer. But when Jesus goes on to identify who each of the sons might represent, things get a lot more uncomfortable. This is the first of a series in which we look at some of Jesus' parables and how they apply, not just to Jesus' hearers but also to us today. Which "son" is each of us more like? The recording is an edited version of our Sunday service. It is introduced by John Lanchbury, with a reading by Dave Lucking and prayers from Margaret Tucker. For copyright reasons we can't include the music in the recording, but the songs used in the service were "Loved before the dawn of time" and "Hear the call of the kingdom".

''Then was fulfilled what had been spoken by the prophet Jeremiah, saying, "And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him on whom a price had been set by some of the sons of Israel, and they gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord directed me." (Matthew 27:9-10)'' The chief priests' purchase of the potter's field fulfills one more Messianic prophecy. Even the purchase price was known to the prophet Jeremiah six hundred years before. The purchase price is "the price of Him on whom a price had been set by some of the sons of Israel." We must remember this when we talk to our Jewish neighbors. Or talk about Jews in general. Not all of the sons of Israel turned their back on Jesus. Just some. But all of the sons of Israel needed a Savior. All the sons of Adam need a Savior. All the daughters of Eve need a Savior. This Savior had a price of His head. This Savior paid that price. Not with the thirty pieces of silver for the potter's field. With His holy, innocent, precious suffering and death. The potter's field that was bought with the money is a symbol of the grave that you and I share with all sinners. The grave that Jesus overcame with His death and resurrection. Amen.
On today's episode of “The Language of Love,” Dr. Laura Berman talks about the experience that catapulted her into a spiritual transformation, and ultimately led her to write her book “Quantum Love.” Dr. Berman discusses how the science of energy and the way energy moves in the body led her to deepen her practice as a sex therapist and focus her practice on ‘sex, body, and soul.'Then, Dr. Berman talks to a woman who wants to know whether long-distance relationships are worth entertaining when the person lives thousands and thousands of miles away. How can you build an energetic connection with someone when they live many time zones away? She also talks with a man who has a history of long-distance relationships who says he struggles with giving himself self-care during his alone time, and finding a way to acknowledge his own worth and sexuality after being solo in the Covid shutdown for so long. Dr. Berman talks with a woman who says she struggles with ‘masculine energy,' and feeling like she is too aggressive or domineering with her partners. She feels like she takes on a position of power in her relationship in which she's always deciding where they eat, what they do, and how they connect with each other. Dr. Berman advises she tries a ‘surrender date,' in which she intentionally hands over power to her partner and he gets to decide everything on date night. He can pick the outfit she wears, the jewelry she puts on, the route they take to dinner, the place they eat and even what she orders! Essentially, she goes ‘cold turkey' when it comes to giving up her dominant side and lets her partner completely take the reins.
''Then when Judas, his betrayer, saw that Jesus was condemned, he changed his mind and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders, saying, "I have sinned by betraying innocent blood." They said, "What is that to us? See to it yourself." (Matthew 27:3-4).'' After Judas betrayed Jesus, he tried to make it right. He tried to give the money back. But the chief priests didn't want it. "What is that to us? See to it yourself," they told him. The chief priests had bought into the lie of self-righteousness. They tell Judas to work out his salvation. To pay for his own sins himself. There is no forgiveness there for him. Self-righteousness is the natural religion of man. When we look back to Greek and Roman mythology, everyone had to make sure that the gods were on their side by constant sacrifices and worship. Self-righteousness is nothing more than swimming in the stormy sea of your own doubt. Doubt is a hurricane that continues to swirl around you. Like it swirled around Judas as he threw the money down at the chief priests' feet before taking his own life. The doubts of self-righteousness only lead to one destination: your soul's destruction. There is only one way to avoid that destination. Don't listen to the doubts. Don't try to save yourself. Throw yourself down at Jesus' feet. Beg for forgiveness. And He will give it to you. Amen.

''Then when Judas, his betrayer, saw that Jesus was condemned, he changed his mind and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders, saying, "I have sinned by betraying innocent blood." They said, "What is that to us? See to it yourself." And throwing down the pieces of silver into the temple, he departed, and he went and hanged himself. (Matthew 27:3-5)'' Judas had betrayed Jesus. He thought he was helping get Jesus' kingdom moving. But it quickly turned bad. Judas knew that Jesus was going to die. He wanted to give the money back so he could--maybe--rescue Jesus. He repented of his sin, but there was no forgiveness to be given. Judas was in the wrong place. The chief priests and the elders could not give him forgiveness. Only Jesus could forgive him. Dejected and mournful, Judas goes out and does what he thinks will save his soul. To offer himself for his sin. But in this mindset he condemns himself. As with the other disciples, Judas didn't understand what Jesus was trying to teach them. It wasn't until after Jesus died and rose again that they understood. But Judas can't wait that long. He condemns himself in his unbelief. Belief in Jesus gives forgiveness. Amen.
''Then the high priest tore his robes and said, "He has uttered blasphemy. What further witnesses do we need? You have now heard his blasphemy. What is your judgment?" They answered, "He deserves death." (Matthew 26:65-66)'' Jesus is accused of blasphemy. But it's not Caiaphas' proclamation of blasphemy that hurts us. It's God's proclamation of blasphemy that hurts us. Jesus is crucified for blasphemy. But it's not His blasphemy. It's '''YOUR''' blasphemy. Jesus died for your blasphemy. Every time you've spoken against Jesus. Every time you've remained silent when you should speak up. Every time you bad-mouthed your fellow man. This is the blasphemy for which Jesus died. Blasphemy that happens every day. There is not a day when we're not speaking against Jesus. Not a day when we're silent when we should speak up. Not a day when we're not bad-mouthing our neighbor. You are guilty of blasphemy against the First Commandment: "You shall have no other gods before Me." Your blasphemy makes yourself your god instead of the one true God. Your blasphemy tears down the people who were created in God's image. Your blasphemy sent Jesus to the cross. But Jesus died on the cross to forgive you of your blasphemy. Believing in Christ, you have the forgiveness of all your sins. Including your blasphemy against Him. After all, His first word from the cross is, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." Amen.
''Then those who had seized Jesus led him to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders had gathered (Matthew 26:57).'' After the disciples fled, Jesus '''ALLOWS''' Himself to be led away to Caiaphas the high priest. Jesus '''ALLOWS''' Himself to face the great blasphemy that would unfold over the next few hours. The Cornerstone would be rejected. The sinless Son of God was called a sinful son of Satan. The One blasphemed against was convicted of blasphemy. Jesus '''ALLOWS''' everything to be turned upside down. After all, He came into the world because it was upside down. He came to turn it right side up. He allowed Himself to be put to death so you may be made alive. He allowed Himself to be spat upon so that you may be exalted. He allowed Himself to be put on trial to prove your faith. The soldiers may have physically led Jesus away. But Jesus was, in reality, leading them to fulfill God's plan of salvation. Jesus led them so that you might be saved. Amen.
''Then all the disciples left him and fled (Matthew 26:56).'' After all the brave boasting and posturing among the disciples, everyone ran for the hills when the soldiers arrested Jesus. The soldiers didn't care about the disciples. They were after Jesus. No one else mattered. '''HE''' was public enemy number one. Of the twelve disciples in Gethsemane, we see that three went back into Jerusalem. The others might have gone to Bethany. They went wherever they thought they could hide. The three who stayed somewhat near Jesus were John, Peter and Judas. John's family was well-known and established in Jerusalem. Peter was curious of what would happen. Judas wanted to see the fireworks. John walks in with the crowd because he knows the high priest. He brings Peter into the courtyard by speaking to the doorman. Peter denies knowing Jesus. Judas hangs himself because the fireworks never happened. Jesus was going to be condemned to death. And it was all Judas' fault. So Judas flees to the one place he deems worthy of himself. The grave. Judas is the only one who fled who was not forgiven. He wouldn't stick around to receive forgiveness. He thought he had no other choice. But the other eleven were forgiven on Easter evening. Forgiven by the resurrected Jesus. Just like you. Amen.

“Look, I am sending you the prophet Elijah before the great and dreadful day of the Lord arrives. His preaching will turn the hearts of fathers to their children, and the hearts of children to their fathers. Malachi 4:5 A good person leaves an inheritance for their children's children. Proverbs 13:22 NIV “Look, I am sending you the prophet Elijah before the great and dreadful day of the Lord arrives. His preaching will turn the hearts of fathers to their children, and the hearts of children to their fathers. Malachi 4:5 “His preaching will turn the hearts of fathers to their children, and the hearts of children to their fathers.” Malachi 4:5 Finally the seventh time, his servant told him, “I saw a little cloud about the size of a man's hand rising from the sea.” Then Elijah shouted, “Hurry to Ahab and tell him, ‘Climb into your chariot and go back home. If you don't hurry, the rain will stop you!'” And soon the sky was black with clouds. A heavy wind brought a terrific rainstorm, and Ahab left quickly for Jezreel. Then the Lord gave special strength to Elijah. He tucked his cloak into his belt and ran ahead of Ahab's chariot all the way to the entrance of Jezreel. 1 Kings 18:44-46 1. ARE WE USING OUR GOD-GIVEN ENERGY IN THE WRONG PLACES? ARE WE FIGHTING THE WRONG BATTLES? 'Then the Lord told him, “Go back the same way you came, and travel to the wilderness of Damascus. When you arrive there, anoint Hazael to be king of Aram. Then anoint Jehu grandson of Nimshi to be king of Israel, and anoint Elisha son of Shaphat from the town of Abel-meholah to replace you as my prophet. Yet I will preserve 7,000 others in Israel who have never bowed down to Baal or kissed him!”' 1 Kings 19:15-16,18 NLT 2. ARE WE CONSTANTLY REMEMBERING WHAT IS MOST IMPORTANT AND WHAT IS GOD'S ORIGINAL CALL AND PROMISE? So Elijah went and found Elisha son of Shaphat plowing a field. There were twelve teams of oxen in the field, and Elisha was plowing with the twelfth team. Elijah went over to him and threw his cloak across his shoulders and then walked away. So Elisha returned to his oxen and slaughtered them. He used the wood from the plow to build a fire to roast their flesh. He passed around the meat to the townspeople, and they all ate. Then he went with Elijah as his assistant. 1 Kings 19:19;21 3. DO YOU HAVE A PLAN B WITH GOD? Then Elijah folded his cloak together and struck the water with it. The river divided, and the two of them went across on dry ground! When they came to the other side, Elijah said to Elisha, “Tell me what I can do for you before I am taken away.” And Elisha replied, “Please let me inherit a double share of your spirit and become your successor.” “You have asked a difficult thing,” Elijah replied. “If you see me when I am taken from you, then you will get your request. But if not, then you won't.”2 Kings 2:8-10 4. DO WE UNDERSTAND THE EARTHLY PRICE OF AN ETERNAL CALLING? Elisha saw it and cried out, “My father! My father! I see the chariots and charioteers of Israel!” 2 Kings 2:12 Elisha picked up Elijah's cloak, which had fallen when he was taken up. Then Elisha returned to the bank of the Jordan River. He struck the water with Elijah's cloak and cried out, “Where is the Lord, the God of Elijah?” Then the river divided, and Elisha went across. When the group of prophets from Jericho saw from a distance what happened, they exclaimed, “Elijah's spirit rests upon Elisha!” And they went to meet him and bowed to the ground before him. 2 Kings 2:13-15 When Elisha was in his last illness, King Jehoash of Israel visited him and wept over him. “My father! Then Elisha died and was buried. 2 Kings 13:20 Groups of Moabite raiders used to invade the land each spring. Once when some Israelites were burying a man, they spied a band of these raiders. So they hastily threw the corpse into the tomb of Elisha and fled. But as soon as the body touched Elisha's bones, the dead man revived and jumped to his feet! 2 Kings 13:20-21 5. ARE YOU ON THE PATH OF TAKING YOUR ANOINTING TO THE GRAVE WITH YOU? ‘In the last days,' God says, ‘I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on my servants—men and women alike—and they will prophesy. Acts 2:17-18 6. Rep. Thomas Massie has called for the entire CDC top leadership to be fired over its "constant stream of lies" during the past year of coronavirus. That's a great idea. But after that, we need to take a hard look at why we have a CDC at all. Do we need a highly-politicized, centralized entity making pronouncements they pretend are laws binding us to do as they say? Also today: good news on how to stop vaccine passports; free weed in Washington - but there's a catch; and the plexiglass profiteering scam.

''Then one of the twelve, whose name was Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, "What will you give me if I deliver him over to you?" And they paid him thirty pieces of silver (Matthew 26:14-15).'' Judas sneaks off from the rest of the disciples and arranges to be paid to betray Jesus. How much was Jesus' life worth to Judas? Thirty pieces of silver. If we were to take these pieces at about an ounce each. Roughly twenty dollars an ounce. Judas judged Jesus' worth to be roughly six hundred dollars. Six hundred dollars for a human life. You can't even get a ticket to the Super Bowl for that little! And how much more should a human life be worth than one ticket to a football game? Why did Judas betray Jesus? Preachers and commentators have all kinds of reasons. St. John attributes the disciples' disgust at the woman's anointing of Jesus solely to Judas, saying, "This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief" (John 12:4-6). Betrayal of trust is stealing from the friendship that is supposed to be among each one of us. When trust is betrayed, a piece of each person's soul is stolen by the devil. A theft that is not easily repaired. Judas' betrayal of Jesus was a shallow move of a wayward disciple, driven by the devil. But God uses Judas' betrayal to send Jesus to the cross so that He might die for your sins. Amen.
''Then the chief priests and the elders of the people gathered in the palace of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas, and plotted together in order to arrest Jesus by stealth and kill him. But they said, "Not during the feast, lest there be an uproar among the people" (Matthew 26:3-5).'' While Jesus "calls His shot" about being crucified at the Passover, the chief priests and elders didn't want to do it. They didn't want to risk the Romans' wrath by starting a riot among the common people. Jerusalem's population during the Passover swelled to many times its normal population. They saw that the uproar would be disastrous for them personally but also very deadly for the people of Judea. What do they do? They find themselves forced to have Jesus crucified at the Passover. The chief priests and the elders thought they were in charge of what would happen to Jesus. But Jesus was in charge of what happened to Himself. He says, "I lay down My life that I may take it up again" (John 10:17). Jesus is in charge of His death and resurrection. Not the elders. Not the chief priests. Not even Pontius Pilate. Jesus is crucified on the day of the Passover so that He might be the one, eternal Passover lamb whose blood shields all who flee to Him for refuge and hide under His blood. The blood that saves you from eternal death. Amen.
As a kid growing up in rural Missouri and later Arkansas, I loved watching the short-lived TV series, "Then Came Bronson." Then Came Bronson began with a TV pilot that aired on NBC on March 24, 1969; and was also released in Europe as a theatrical feature film. This was followed by a single season of 26 episodes airing between September 17, 1969, and April 1, 1970. There was a lot to fascinate a young boy at the time in the TV show. There was a sense of adventure in every episode. The central figure was James "Jim” Bronson, played by the actor Michael Parks, a newspaperman who seemed to have a keen sense of fixing practically every situation and circumstance he encountered along the road. Then there was, of course, the motorcycle he rode on his adventures — 1969 XLH 900cc Harley-Davidson Sportster. Join me today as we discuss the TV show and how it was a 1960s version of what we are witnessing today in the nomad movement. Original Broadcast: June 2014 ''Then they also will answer, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?' Then he will answer them, saying, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.' And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life" (Matthew 25:44-46).'' Those who will be cursed on the Last Day refused to serve some. Whether it's because of their race, color, religion or sexual orientation, no one is allowed to refuse to serve these people. In most cases, these are the "least of these" that Jesus seeks to save. When we refuse to serve anyone, we refuse to serve Jesus. Unfortunately, there may be many Christians who hear these horrible words on the Last Day. And this is cause for great concern in God's Church. Satan has brought so much into our own lives that we buy into his lies that there are some who are unworthy of our service. But no one is unworthy of your service. Serve everyone you come into contact with without prejudice. Jesus came and served you with salvation without prejudice. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). Jesus has served everyone with His sacrifice on the Cross. Amen.

Original Broadcast: June 2014 ''Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me' (Matthew 25:41-43).'' No one wants to hear the words, "Depart from Me, you cursed." No one wants to be cursed. Being cursed means that you are outside of someone's favor. And no one wants to be out of God's favor. Every religion other than Christianity has the same focus: we must atone for our sins before an angry God. That we must make ourselves acceptable to God. But all these religions are cursed. No one can atone for their sins before God. Atonement can only be made by the holy Son of God on the cross of Calvary. The self-sacrifice of the One who had departed from His heavenly throne to become a curse for you that you might become a blessing. Amen.
Original Broadcast: June 2014 ''Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?' (Matthew 25:37-39).'' Christians are people who willingly do God's will without thinking about it. So the sheep must ask when they served Jesus. They were simply living their Christian life. Fulfilling their vocation. Not looking for a reward. Simply living life. Christians take care of others. Christians established the first hospitals. Christian mission societies were established first to take care of people's needs. This was the beginning of the Salvation Army. A place where Christians joined together to take care of the downtrodden. Do Christians always know what great works they are doing? No. Knowing isn't the point. Christians serve. Whether they are recognized for it or not. Because they will be recognized for it on the Last Day. Amen.
Original Broadcast: June 2014 ''Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me' (Matthew 25:34-36).'' Jesus speaks the words we want to hear to the sheep on His right. "Come, you who are blessed by My Father." Through faith in Jesus, we have been blessed by God the Father. This blessing comes from the holy Trinity. The Father sent the Son to die for the sins of the world. The Father and the Son send the Holy Spirit so that people can believe in His atonement. "Come, you who are blessed by My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world." Being blessed by God the Father, the sheep are able to walk into the kingdom prepared for them. Prepared from the foundation of the world. The kingdom of Eden. Paradise re-established for believers. The kingdom has been prepared for you. Jesus also says, "In My Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again to take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also" (John 14:2-3). Prepared from the foundation of the world, Jesus comes back to bring us into the Paradise of Eden. Where we were created to live forever. Now we have that eternal life as an inheritance. Because we believe and follow Him. Amen.
''Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.' But the wise answered, saying, 'Since there will not be enough for us and for you, go rather to the dealers and buy for yourselves' (Matthew 25:7-9).'' When the eternal Bridegroom Jesus Christ comes to bring the dawn of the eternal Day, everyone will be brought before Him. And everyone will trim their lamps with the oil of their faith. The foolish ask the wise to borrow some of their oil. But no one can borrow faith from anyone else. Everyone will be judged fit for entrance into the eternal wedding feast on the basis of their own faith. But Jesus also says, "If you have faith like a grain of mustard seed" (Matthew 17:20). It doesn't take much faith. Only faith in Jesus' death and resurrection for you. Faith in His atoning sacrifice on the cross. That is all that is necessary for you to enter Heaven. The catechesis of the day of Tiziana, Apostle of the Interior Life
- Press the PLAY button to listen to the catechesis of the day and share if you like -+ A reading from the holy Gospel, according to Luke +Tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to listen to Jesus, but the Pharisees and scribes began to complain, saying, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” So to them Jesus addressed this parable. “A man had two sons, and the younger son said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share of your estate that should come to me.' So the father divided the property between them. After a few days, the younger son collected all his belongings and set off to a distant country where he squandered his inheritance on a life of dissipation. When he had freely spent everything, a severe famine struck that country, and he found himself in dire need. So he hired himself out to one of the local citizens who sent him to his farm to tend the swine. And he longed to eat his fill of the pods on which the swine fed, but nobody gave him any. Coming to his senses he thought, ‘How many of my father's hired workers have more than enough food to eat, but here am I, dying from hunger. I shall get up and go to my father and I shall say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I no longer deserve to be called your son; treat me as you would treat one of your hired workers.”' So he got up and went back to his father. While he was still a long way off, his father caught sight of him, and was filled with compassion. He ran to his son, embraced him and kissed him. His son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you; I no longer deserve to be called your son.' But his father ordered his servants, ‘Quickly, bring the finest robe and put it on him; put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Take the fattened calf and slaughter it. Then let us celebrate with a feast, because this son of mine was dead, and has come to life again; he was lost, and has been found.'Then the celebration began. Now the older son had been out in the field and, on his way back, as he neared the house, he heard the sound of music and dancing. He called one of the servants and asked what this might mean. The servant said to him, ‘Your brother has returned and your father has slaughtered the fattened calf because he has him back safe and sound.' He became angry, and when he refused to enter the house, his father came out and pleaded with him. He said to his father in reply,‘Look, all these years I served you and not once did I disobey your orders; yet you never gave me even a young goat to feast on with my friends. But when your son returns who swallowed up your property with prostitutes, for him you slaughter the fattened calf.'He said to him, ‘My son, you are here with me always; everything I have is yours. But now we must celebrate and rejoice, because your brother was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found.'”The Gospel of the Lord.

So he took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering in place of his son. Abraham named the place Yahweh-Yireh (which means “the Lord will provide”). Genesis 22:13-14 NLT Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see. Hebrews 11:1 FEAR IS CONQUERED BY FAITH AND FAITH IS FUELED BY TRUST One day the widow of a member of the group of prophets came to Elisha and cried out, “My husband who served you is dead, and you know how he feared the Lord. But now a creditor has come, threatening to take my two sons as slaves.” 2 Kings 4:1 NLT 1. GOD CARES ABOUT YOUR SITUATION 'The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help. YOUR MINDSET MATTERS “Tell me, what do you have in the house?” 2 Kings 4:2 NLT “Nothing at all…" she replied. 2 Kings 4:2 NLT “Nothing at all, except a flask of olive oil,” she replied. 2 Kings 4:2 NLT 3. WE DO THE GIVING AND GOD DOES THE MULTIPLYING And Elisha said, “Borrow as many empty jars as you can from your friends and neighbors. Then go into your house with your sons and shut the door behind you. Pour olive oil from your flask into the jars, setting each one aside when it is filled.” So she did as she was told. Her sons kept bringing jars to her, and she filled one after another. Soon every container was full to the brim! “Bring me another jar,” she said to one of her sons. “There aren’t any more!” he told her. And then the olive oil stopped flowing. When she told the man of God what had happened, he said to her, “Now sell the olive oil and pay your debts, and you and your sons can live on what is left over.” 2 Kings 4:3-7 NLT 4. WHEN WE STOP GIVING GOD STOPS PROVIDING “Bring me another jar,” she said to one of her sons. “There aren’t any more!” he told her. And then the olive oil stopped flowing. 2 Kings 4:6 NLT 'Then, calling the crowd to join his disciples, he said, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it. And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?” Mark 8:34-37 NLT
Kia Ora Whanau. We were somewhere around Ohinemutu on the edge of the lake when the gels began to take hold. I remember saying something like ``I feel a bit lightheaded; maybe you should take a turn on the mic....'' And suddenly there was a terrible roar all around us and the sky was full of what looked like huge Pukeko, all swooping and screeching and diving around us. We felt like we were going about a hundred miles an hour with the top down to Tokorangi pa. And a voice was screaming: ``Holy Jesus! What are these goddamn animals?''Then it was quiet again. Eugene had taken his shirt off and was rubbing Spring Energy on his chest, to facilitate the tanning process. ``What the hell are you yelling about?'' he muttered, staring up at the sun with his eyes closed and covered with Julbo sunglasses. ``Never mind,'' I said. ``It's your turn on the mic.'' I hit the On button, handed it to him and wobbled off to find some shade by the Croucher Beer Tent.. No point mentioning those Pukeko, I thought. The poor bastard will see them soon enough…...Thus follows the breakdown of our incredibly epic, sleep deprived, emotionally exhausting, triumphant, and completely amazing experience of the 2021 Tarawera Ultramarathon encompassing the highs, lows, results, starts, finishes, everything. Buy the ticket, take the ride. Enjoy.

' Philippians 3:8-9 NLT 1. SPIRITUAL SLAVERY IS A CHOICE 'Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living… Previously, you let yourselves be slaves to impurity and lawlessness, which led ever deeper into sin. Now you must give yourselves to be slaves to righteous living so that you will become holy.' Y por supuesto, su one-liner definitivo: 'Then, he will die'.

The catechesis of the day of Tiziana, Apostle of the Interior Life
- Press the PLAY button to listen to the catechesis of the day and share if you like -+ A reading from the holy Gospel, according to Luke +Jesus said to his disciples, “A rich man had a steward who was reported to him for squandering his property. He summoned him and said, ‘What is this I hear about you?Prepare a full account of your stewardship, because you can no longer be my steward.'The steward said to himself, ‘What shall I do, now that my master is taking the position of steward away from me?I am not strong enough to dig and I am ashamed to beg.I know what I shall do so that, when I am removed from the stewardship, they may welcome me into their homes.'He called in his master's debtors one by one.To the first he said, ‘How much do you owe my master?'He replied, ‘One hundred measures of olive oil.'He said to him, ‘Here is your promissory note.Sit down and quickly write one for fifty.'Then to another he said, ‘And you, how much do you owe?'He replied, ‘One hundred measures of wheat.'He said to him, ‘Here is your promissory note; write one for eighty.'And the master commended that dishonest steward for acting prudently. For the children of this world are more prudent in dealing with their own generation than the children of light.”The Gospel of the Lord.
'Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there. Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?” “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.” “Which ones?” he inquired. Jesus replied, “ ‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, honor your father and mother,’ and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’ ” “All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?” Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth. Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?” Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Peter answered him, “We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?” Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.' Matthew 19:13-30 https://my.bible.com/bible/111/MAT.19.13-30
Why is purpose so important? In Lewis Carroll's book, Alice in Wonderland, Alice comes to a fork in the road and asks, “Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?''That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,' said the Cat.'I don't much care where -' said Alice.'Then it doesn't matter which way you go,' said the Cat."Many parents have never really taken the time to explore their purpose as a parent, which is totally understandable. I mean, it's not like anyone really ever asks us to think of things like this. Without a parenting purpose, it's easy to get distracted from what is most important to you. Without a defined purpose, role, or vision, you don't have the guidance of a goal. When we take time to define our purpose as a parent, we focus on the results that WE would like to achieve in OUR lives and in OUR role as parents. Defining our purpose gives us purpose and direction. Defining our purpose makes us proactive instead or reactive.Who gets to define YOUR purpose?First, let's look at the word define vs. find. I've heard people talk about finding their purpose. That's a little different. Finding suggests that we are looking for something. Finding suggests that we are at the mercy of whether or not we find whatever it is we are looking for. Finding puts our focus on something outside of ourselves. Defining our purpose is something within our control. Rather than looking for something outside of ourselves, we are looking within ourselves and creating our purpose. We are the ones in control. We are the ones creating the definition of our role as a parent. Your role and purpose will be unique to you. It will be shaped by your values, your characteristics, your life experiences, and the impact that you want to have. In other words, YOU are defining your own purpose as a parent. I have a friend who is big into hunting and camping, and everything outdoors. He see's his role as a teacher and example in passing down their family traditions and the importance of hunting, camping, fishing and other things. I have another friend who believes it is her role to be an example of having an open mind, being accepting of others, and treating others with love and kindness. I believe that my role is to be a coach, teacher, and example. This gives my guidance and direction in ALL parenting situations. How to define your purpose.BrainstormTake 5-10 minutes to write your thoughts on this. Look inward:What are your values? What is your role? How would you like to be remembered?DefineClearly write down your purpose. Make it clear and concise. Make sure it is aligned with your values.RefineYour purpose doesn't need to be set in stone. You can change and refine your purpose as you change and grow. Your purpose is alive and ever-changing. Remember, this is YOUR purpose. You get to define it. You can do it your own way. There is no right or wrong way to do this. If you want help with this, you can join my FREE Facebook challenge and access the FREE download to walk you through defining your purpose.Join the FREE Facebook Challenge!
