Eine wache Stunde im Gespräch mit Asmus Tietchens, Klangkünstler und FSK Kollege in Radio Gagarin. Zur Person und zum Werk: https://tietchens.de/
In 1973, a Californian by the name of Archie Patterson became so enthused by all the interesting underground European experimental/electronic music he was hearing that he started up a fanzine dedicated to it, called Eurock. It lasted 40 issues, through 1990. In 1979, a Brit by the name of David Elliott felt much the same way and, in part inspired by Eurock and also by post-punk DIY culture, started his own zine Neumusik. While it only lasted 6 issues, until 1982, during that time it grew to over 70 pages and set David off exploring Europe to interview many of the important artists in person. What kind of artists are we talking about? Some of them you may know, like Can, Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk, Nektar, Neu!, Heldon, Chrome, or Urban Sax.. Others you may never have heard of, like Guru Guru, Asmus Tietchens, Atem, Art Zoyd III, Gunter Schickert, or Shub Niggurath. All of them were at the forefront of musical creativity towards the end of the 20th Century, and Eurock and Neumusik were at the forefront of the fanzines writing about them, interviewing them, and cataloguing their culture. Patterson grew a distribution service and began publishing books; he still posts twice-weekly about the music on his Facebook. Elliot started a “band,” a cassette label, and recently wrote an extensive book on the British pop music of 1984.For more information about their zines, their culture, and where to get copies of their books, please head on over to https://tonyfletcher.substack.com/p/adventures-in-neumusik-and-eurock Hosted on Acast. For today’s podcast, we are featuring an outstanding label showcase for LINE, mixed by the one and only Richard Chartier. For this mix, which is also available at Name Your Price on Line’s Bandcamp [I highly recommend you grab the lossless version there!], Chartier showcases works from the most recent and back catalog of his monumental label, in the process creating more than just a label sampler, but a journey of its own. If this is your first foray into minimalism, sound art, and microsound spearheaded by LINE, then strap yourself in as you discover the many intimate layers in this most intricate of genres. The loyal followers of this monumental imprint will be happy to discover a few recent inclusions, such as a piece by Six Microphones, or the most recent release from Joaquín Gutiérrez Hadid, as well as some flashbacks to the earlier pieces by Asmus Tietchens, William Basinski + Richard Chartier, and of course, an appearance by Pinkcourtesyphone. A wonderful exhibition, which, once again, I urge you to support by purchasing this mix, or the albums appearing on it, directly from the label. For a more detailed description, full tracklisting, and more information about this mix, please visit headphonecommute.com

This episode is an ode to collaborations and their importance in the everyday creative practice. The first and most significant treated in this episode is the life-long partnership between Dieter Moebius and Hans-Joachim Roedelius, the two prolific pioneers of teutonic electronic music and fathers of Krautrock. They’ve been working together, since the early 70’s, making music as a duo as well as teaming up with Conrad Schnitzler (under the name Kluster), Michael Rother (forming Harmonia), Conny Plank, Brian Eno (in Harmonia 76), Gerd Beerbohm, Karl Renziehausen and many more. The sonic heritage that they created influenced the subsequent generations of german artists, including some who are featured in this episode. Last but not least, this tracklist is a brief extract from the rich catalogue of the defunct Hamburg based label Sky Records, born from the experience of Brain that today evolved into Bureau B. The episode features: Dennis Young, Eno Moebius Roedelius, Hearts No Static, Roedelius & Schneider, Asmus Tietchens, Conrad Schnitzler, Cluster, Moebius & Beerbohm, Harald Grosskopf, Vono, Faust and Qluster.
Radio Concrete #14 works with extracts and edits from field recordings, experimental music and sound tracks from movies & tv. It starts with an edit to the famous Daisy ad - a controversial political advertisement aired on television during the 1964 United States presidential election by incumbent president Lyndon B. Johnson's campaign and takes it from there to the upcoming elections in Israel. Other noticeable extracts include Alvin Curran, Asmus Tietchens, Tony Schwartz (life of a dog), piano tuning videos, Radiotrip, Ibrahim Kazoo (Ft.Hassank), live mixes from radio Aporee and recordings made in my studio with Tamir Lichtenberg. Radio Concrete by Hagai Izenberg is a monthly experimental radio show which deals with live mixing and processing of field recordings together with radio broadcasting, objects and live streaming from various sources. https://www.facebook.com/radioconcrete/ http://www.hagaizenberg.com

_tracklist 1) The Residents "The walrus hunt" 2) Cluster "Plas" 3) Pyrolator "Inland 3" 4) Andrew Liles "Ethernal" 5) Charles Cohen "Tubs" 6) Steve Moore "The ritual continues" 7) Conrad Schnitzler "Zug" 8) Cabaret Voltaire "Premonition" 9) Experimental audio research "Synchrondipity" 10) Asmus Tietchens "Herzlicht" 11) Raudive bunker experiment "Exorcism" 12) Klinik "Decay" 13) Monoton "Room of 1=1" 14) Enema Syringe "Därför Måste Jag Försova Mig" 15) Ssleeperhold "F.I.S.T." 16) Panasonic "Terrasmoto" 17) Frak "Out trip ______________________________________________ https://www.mixcloud.com/aitorillo/ www.traumacollective.com
