Embarking on a journey from military transition to civilian triumph, this episode delves into the heart of assisting veterans. It's a candid conversation with a retired Marine Corps veteran exploration of the challenges and victories that define life after service, presenting guidance for those navigating the shift from uniform to civilian life. Brian Grana, 20-year retired Lt. Colonel, whose life story is as inspiring as it is instructive. Brian's narrative begins in the simplicity of his childhood, where family values and a passion for sports set the stage for his future endeavors. He shares anecdotes from his youth, where the discipline and teamwork learned on the sports field became the bedrock of his character. This foundation led him to Annapolis, originally wanting to fly for the Navy, but then he opted for the Marine Corps, where he honed his leadership skills and embraced the ethos of service. Brian's transition out of the military is a focal point of our conversation, shedding light on the often-undiscussed realities of re-entering civilian life. He candidly discusses the challenges he faced and the strategies that helped him overcome them, paving the way for his successful integration into the business world. His entrepreneurial spirit shines through as he recounts the creation of the Veterans Beer Club, a venture that combines his love for craft brewing with his commitment to supporting fellow veterans. We also discuss Brian's dedication to give back, a testament to his unwavering commitment to the veteran community. He shares his insights on the importance of creating networks of support, fostering opportunities, and ensuring that the camaraderie of service continues beyond the battlefield. Through his actions and initiatives, Brian has become a pillar of support, helping others to find their footing in a post-military landscape. Join Jeff & Jeff as they chat with friends of the podcast Bob Peterson and Rick Schwartz. Above-average beer connoisseurs, Bob and Rick share great stories about "beer mules", "beer-cations", and beer vocabulary like "gluggable", "swoosh-swoosh" and "rattle-rattle". Enjoy the drinking antics of the "average Joe" drinkers taking it to the next level.
Brother Nathan Manion joins me today to talk about his 3% journey where he came from a place that not a lot of men have had to endure. Not only did he go through a nasty divorce dealing with false allegations & custody battles, but he also had to endure the loss of a child. This sort of thing is enough to make a lot of men zero out. When men are knocked down like this, they have two options. Stay down, or get up, dust off and push forward. Nathan did the latter! Nathan was sort of going down the MGTOW route a little bit until a mutual friend, "Retired Goat" recommended my TikTok's after my first TikTok ban. He started listening to the podcast reading the books I recommended, and decided to level up. You can chat with Nathan every month in the Beer Club
Ryan & Becca dig into a listener question related to subscription clubs where you offer a new pot each quarter at one price, plus a tangent into mug clubs for breweries. We go into some incentives you may want to consider to get customers to purchase, how to make each quarter's offering unique, and how to structure payment. Enjoy this new discussion topic for us!What would you do if...all the pots you shipped out for a restock broke?Listener QuestionsOn this episode:- Chocolate bar or candy bar? What do you say? @greencabinpottery- Best bats for making plates. Not plastic. But just don't want something that warps. @sarahcrowleyceramics- Have y'all ever done a mug club or pot club? I've been thinking of trying one next year — a subscription model where members would receive a new pot once a quarter, and they'd be exclusive new work only for members. Problem is, idk how to sell it to people or logistically how to set it up. Pay all at once, or once a quarter when the pot ships? ($200 once or $50 four times) What would make customers even want to sign up? Thanks as always! Also I just left a long ass review for the pod because the snooze fest review really pissed me off! Vem!
CEO and Founder of Lazy Dog Restaurants Chris Simms joins Dane Neal on WGN Radio. Hear as Chris shares excitement for the new location and new menu for fans even closer to Chicago in Oak Brook. Listen as Chris fills us in on inspiration for dishes, cocktails and the latest with the Beer Club along […]
Phil Kendro is a Marine veteran who co-founded the Veterans Beer Club, which serves as a place for veterans to network in a fun way.
In this episode, the ILB team hosts Keith Badner who shares about a beer club that he's been curating on the first Friday of every month for the last 10 years. And, our local celebrity, Travis, from Brewer's Taproom stops on by to pitch his establishment as the next location for Keith and his following. Ever the polite guest, Travis treats us to a great new Double IPA from Burgeon which, we're told, is like drinking Carlsbad Crush on steroids.
Bora ouvir?
