El 26 de junio de 1977 tuvo lugar la primera manifestación del Orgullo Lgtbi+ en Barcelona. Unas 5000 personas marcharon por las Ramblas  de la capital catalana entre las Drassanes y Canaletas . Al frente se pusieron las trans y las prostitutas para proteger al recto del colectivo, decían que, total, "ellas estaban muertas". Se llevaron la mayor parte de los palos que repartió la policía. Y en el centro, destacaba, muy alta, morena de pelo rizado y vestido negro escotado, Trini Falcés, la Trini de día cuando ejercía de prostituta, la "Mamy Blue" de noche como cabaretera en los espectáculos de El Molino o La Perla. Pero , por encima de todo, una gran activista lgtbiq+ con acciones que le llevaron a las comisarías primero y a las cárceles después, sobre todo a la temida de Badajoz que fue un cambo de concentración de colectivo al que sometían a todo tipo de tratamientos y trabajos forzados. Pero Trini Falcés fue una valiente porque nació ya desafiando la realidad. Fue un bebé robado en A Coruña por un policía secreta al servicio de Franco en el Pazo de Meirás. Bautizada como Toni, el tiempo descubriría que era intersexual, tenía genitales masculinos, pero en la adolescencia le crecieron las mamas. Sus padres intentaron ocultarla primero, pero no cejaron en su idea de que hiciera la carrera militar. Es la mili en Barcelona la que le hizo descubrir a Trini Falcés que otro mundo era posible y abandonó el régimen marcial familiar. Primero se ganó la vida limpiando y luego en la calle y en la noche como prostituta y cabaretera. Al final de su vida volvió a su tierra natal, a A Coruña, al barrio de Riazor. Consiguió una paga no contributiva que le permitió vivir y una indemnización por la Ley de Memoria Histórica de Zapatero que fue mínima porque su padre, el policía secreta, había borrado casi todo su historial delictivo durante el franquismo. The DR's primary religion is Catholicism so there are also many holidays centered around it.Must-Visit CitiesThe DR's capital city, the largest city, Santo Domingo, is a must-visit! Known as the oldest city in the New World, it's filled with colonial architecture and historical sites, including the first cathedral in the Americas, Basilica Cathedral of Santa Maria la Menor. Check out the old fort walls in the colonial zone. For a taste of Santo Domingo, try the chocolate-making tour, where you can explore the history of the Cacao bean and the different percentages of chocolates, and you get to make your own chocolate bar. For a scenic stroll, walk on the Malecon oceanside walkway, where you can see the ocean, shop from local vendors, and enjoy live music. The city of Santiago de los Caballeros is another gem with a thriving cultural scene. It is a smaller city with friendlier people, and similar to Santo Domingo, it has mountains, beaches, and good food. Santo Domingo and Santiago are a 4-hour drive from each other. La Romana is known for its luxury resorts, golf courses, and the nearby Altos de Chavón, a recreated Mediterranean-style village.Outdoor Exploring Like a LocalBeaches: Punta Cana is famous for its resorts and beaches, which make it a top tourist destination. However, there are many less crowded beaches, such as Las Terrenas, Cabarete, and Puerto Plata, on the northern coast, and Juan Dolio on the southern coast. Las Terrenas is on the northeastern coast, and it is Cassidy and Zeek's favorite with its crystal clear water and perfect palm trees. Cabarete is a vibrant boho surfer beach. Playa Rincon and Bahia de Las Aguilas offer some of the most pristine beaches.Hiking: If you're up for an adventure, try canyoning at El Tabernaculo. This is a must-hike, and you can slide down mini waterfalls. This hike is only about 2 hours long. Another incredible hike is Venti siete Saltos at the Damajagua Waterfalls. Here you can hike a trail up to the top of the mountain and you can float down a river, jumping off 27 rock sections into the next water pool. You can also choose whether you want to do a beginner, intermediate, or expert trek. Salto de Jimenoa. Pico Duarte is the highest peak in the Caribbean, standing at 10,164 feet (3,098 meters). You can sign up for a guided camping trip up the mountain, and the views and natural beauty is stunning. What to PackBring your camera! Dominican cuisine is a blend of Spanish, African, and Taíno influences, with dishes like mangu (mashed plantains) and la bandera (a hearty plate of meat, rice, and beans). Some favorite Santo Domingo restaurants of Cassidy and Zeek include El Conuco, Osteria del Cappuccino, and La Tapa. Osteria del Cappuccino is an authentic Italian restaurant, and it is so tasty that it is endorsed by the Italian embassy! La Tapa has many options, great steaks, and excellent drinks. Keep in mind water is more expensive than liquor in the DR! El Conuco is a traditional Dominican restaurant located closer to the colonial district. El Conuco is a famous celebrity spot with the citations of Selena Gomez and Brad Pitt, and it hosts live merengue music in the evenings and weekends. Don't even get us started on the coffee—locally grown and deliciously rich, it's a must-try for every coffee lover. Their favorite coffee shop is The Greenhouse. A popular drink in the DR is a mochaccino. Be careful when ordering a Machiatto because, unlike Starbucks, it is an extremely concentrated expresso drink.Travel on Any Budget!The DR has options for every budget. Nina Bergman is an actress, singer, songwriter and model. She was born in Denmark and is the granddaughter of Russia's greatest actor, Pavel Kadochnikov. Nina spent her early childhood traveling around Europe with her Russian Gypsy grandparents. At 14, she received a scholarship to the musical theatre school Urdang Academy in London. A year later, she found herself in Moscow attending the world-famous Bolshoi Theatre. From there, she moved to New York City and was accepted at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. At that time, she got her first agent and began booking various jobs in plays, movies, commercials, and modeling. She also started singing in underground bands. Being an adrenaline junkie, she found herself making extra money as an amateur boxer which later on helped her book movies like "The Car," a remake by Universal Pictures, and the franchise "DOOM" movie also with Universal Pictures. Her other work includes the starring role of Marie in "Hell Hath No Fury," a Jesse V Johnson movie, playing a French resistance fighter, and she played the lead role of "GG," who was based on a 90s goth singer in the film "Carpe Noctem," which was directed by Gene Blalock. In addition to film, she also played video game characters like "Battery" from "Call Of Duty." She has two anticipated movies coming out this year; "Chief Of Station," starring Aaron Eckhard, and "Cold Meat," starring Nina and Allen Leech, which screened at Fright Fest in London and will be in theaters later this year. Her performance in "Assassin X" earned her the Honorable Mention Award for Best Actress from the AOF International Film Festival for her role as the notorious Trinidad. She starred as "Wonder Woman," directed by Jesse V Johnson, which stars Timothy V Murphy and Marina Sirtis. She also played a cold-hearted killer in "The Wayshower," with Peter Stormare and Eric Roberts, and she starred in "Know New Art," a Newport Beach Film Festival project by the Freise Brothers and Biscuit Filmworks. Her other work includes playing the lead opposite actors like John Malkovich, David Arquette, Vivica Fox, and Jesse Metcalfe. She's been featured in numerous skits on The Late Late Show with James Corden and Craig Ferguson, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and has hosted various shows like E! Entertainment, Fuse, and The Grammys as a Trophy Presenter. Her reality show credits include Battleground Earth with Tommy Lee and Ludacris and Hollywoodfruer, the Danish acclaimed TV show. A passion for the stage drew her back to her roots as she performed in various plays such as "The Cherry Orchard" with A Noise Within, and her favorite, the portrayal of Marlene Dietrich in "Garbo's Cuban Lover" with the Macha Theatre. Her theatrical agent introduced her to Paul Anka, who shortly after began managing her music career and helped her sign a six-album contract with Warner Bros. Record by their President Rob Cavallo. They called her new solo project "N.I.N.A." which led to her last band, "Letters From The Fire." Nina worked on soundtracks for Lionsgate Films, singing the theme song for "Catacombs," "Repo the Genetic Opera," and "Sharknado". She sang the end title song in "Black Limousine" and was the voice on the soundtrack for "All About Her." Additionally, she performed live for the World Series and the NCAA College Football Season. Her work in music videos includes a starring role in Gnarls Barkley's video "Gone Daddy Gone," Sick Puppies video "All the Same," and Trey Songz "Foreigner". She has been seen in over 50 commercials and hundreds of print campaigns, ranging from La Perla to Apple Computer, Sprite, Nike, and her well-known Nature Valley and Dos Equis with the Most Interesting Man in the World. Her most recent commercial campaign is the Carls Jr. Beyond Meat and her notorious "Balls Commercial" for Saxx Underwear, where she was the spokesperson. Along with her career, Nina is an avid animal rights activist with an active voice for the ethical treatment of our companions.
