In Episode #176 of The XS Noize Podcast, host Mark Millar speaks to Neil Arthur from Blancmange about the career-spanning compilation Everything is Connected (The Best of Blancmange 1979-2024). Blancmange's story is one of two distinct chapters. In the early ‘80s, they infused the emergent synth-pop scene with oblique lyrics, wry British humour and occasionally tabla-tinged sonics, an unlikely mix which saw them soar into the Top 10 with singles such as Living On The Ceiling, Blind Vision and Don't Tell Me. And since 2011's Blanc Burn album, they've taken that singular style into a new century and somehow become more prolific than ever. Now Blancmange brings all – well, 38 to be precise – of these highlights together with the career-spanning collection Everything Is Connected, released on London Records on 11th May 2024. In this interview, Neil Arthur discusses the career-spanning collection Everything Is Connected, his love for Abba getting stopped by the police on his way to Top of the Pops and lots more. We talk the blind vision of the establishment. What steps are being taken to keep mankind grounded to this planet? Also, is every environmental step that they take the wrong one in terms of saving the earth? And, what is your life expectancy reduced to? We ask the questions
In this episode, Phil and Greg are joined by Sea Captain Coach Chad Myers. They talk about the challenges and opportunities leaders face due to Covid and its after-effects. In the latter part of the conversation, Chad shares his experience writing his book Blind Vision. Tune in to this episode and hear more tips on how building brain power helps improve health and individual performance. Key Points: Phil and Greg welcome their first guest on the show, Sea Captain Executive Coach Chad Myers. Chad offers his clients specialized expertise in developing a growth mindset and post-traumatic growth life coaching. He also co-authored a book called Blind Vision about his father's journey of self-discovery from blinded-Vietnam veteran to successful multi-million-dollar insurance salesman and motivational speaker. Life took a radical shift over the past two years because of Covid. Those in leadership are facing challenges—and opportunities—because of that. There are the parallels between Post-Covid Growth and Post-Traumatic Growth, which is covered in Chad's book Blind Vision. Blind Vision is the story of Chad's father and overcoming adversity after being blinded while in Vietnam. Chad offers advice to his clients to help them get through difficult times. Chad recently conducted a training seminar on post-Covid growth for medical professionals, who took the brunt of the physical and emotional toll of the pandemic. Chad has an interest in neuroscience, and his coaching curriculum talks about building brain power to improve health and individual performance. There are principles to help clients achieve a higher level of motivation, accountability and meaning for their life. Covid and its after effects are an opportunity for people to rewrite their life story. Phil and Chad both advise clients to begin with the end in mind when setting new goals and priorities. Chad advises clients to “Get comfortable with being uncomfortable.” People can contact Chad at Chad@SeaCaptainCoaching.com. https://seacaptaincoaching.com/ (SeaCaptainCoaching.com) https://www.instagram.com/seacaptaincoaching/ (Instagram link) https://www.facebook.com/seacaptaincoaching (FB link) Connect with Phil https://www.linkedin.com/in/philbender (Linkedin) Connect with Greg https://www.linkedin.com/in/gjpatton (Linkedin) Connect with Chad https://www.linkedin.com/in/themyersgroup/ (Linkedin)

Neil Arthur and Martyn have known each other since they worked together on Blancmange's first demos. They immediately became firm friends, and their mutual love of football and the north remains strong. In the 80's, Blancmange blasted out a string of top 20 electronic pop classics like Living On The Ceiling and Blind Vision, and three classic albums, and Neil has continued in the last decade with further excellent releases and collaborations. The new Blancmange have supported Heaven 17 on two UK tours recently, and Neil regularly collaborates with new bands Ladies and gentlemen, he's up the wall, he's up the bloody tree... Neil Arthur

Wandavision episode eight review.
On Your Artwork: The Beat. Kim Wilde, Grace Jones and Mark Knopfler. Monie Love, Style Council and Gary Numan. The Pretenders and Toyah. We go back in time to the 80s and some long lost and forgotten gems from Madness, The Associates, Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark and Tracy Chapman. Some are maybe ones not heard for a while, but are locked there in your memory. Like Slade “Run Runaway”, Blancmange “Blind Vision” and Culture Club “It’s A Miracle”. Lots more on the way including a belter of an album track from The Selecter and Human League, little known singles from Simple Minds, Naked Eyes and Belle Stars. There’s an awakening happening right here over two hours for you, get settled in + get Alexa to do it for you, “Alexa, play Electric Thunder Radio Podcast on TuneIn”. Enjoy!
I spent a good part of my life, wondering, "why am I wired the way I am?" I asked myself why I felt like a failure. To overcome the self-disappointment, I spent a good part of my life trying to live up to the expectations of family, friends, college professors, bosses, preachers, and even Facebook Friends. That didn't help either. I found that as time went by I continually failed to live up to my OWN brutal self-expectations. The chance of making something of myself seemed more hopeless with each passing year. But then, I experienced an incredible breakthrough. I discovered Hope.

Seite A Anne Clark - Abuse (Long Mix) The Overlords – Organic! Renegade Soundwave - Probably a Robbery Pop Will Eat Itself - Nightmare at 20.000 Ft. The Beloved - The Sun Rising (LP Version) Man Machine - Set Me Free * Bassomatic - Set the Controls for the Heart of the Bass * Outlander - Vamp The Prodigy - Everybody in the Place (Fairground Remix) Seite B E-Zee Possee - Everything Starts with an E (Edit) Exit 100 - Liquid (Bubble One) Blind Vision - Don't Look at Me Tragic Error - Umbaba * The Weathermen - Bang! * Front 242 - Tragedy (For You) Format - Solid Session LA Style - James Brown is Dead Bizarre Inc - Playing with Knives (Radio Edit) * Candy Flip - Can You Feel the Love * Mehr Musik von Martin könnt ihr euch auf seiner Mixcloud anhören. Blancmange special with Neil Arthur in conversation with David Eastaugh English synth-pop band formed in Harrow, London, in 1979. The band were a duo for most of their career, composed of Neil Arthur (vocals) and Stephen Luscombe (keyboards). They came to prominence in the early 1980s releasing four singles that entered the Top 20 charts in the UK, such as "Living on the Ceiling", "Waves", "Blind Vision" and "Don't Tell Me", and they released three albums during that decade, Happy Families (1982), Mange Tout (1984) and Believe You Me(1985). The duo broke up in 1986 but reformed in 2011 and released their fourth album Blanc Burn (2011). Luscombe left following the release and since then Arthur has continued to perform under the Blancmange name. He has released six further studio albums and a number of compilations, including a re-recording of the band's debut album, titled Happy Families Too....

A metaphorical sneak peek into life without vision. James Pittar lost his vision over a 10 year period by age 20. As the first and only vision impaired man to successfully swim the English channel I adored recording this episode. It's not often with think of life in someone else's shoes, but to do so with James was insightful, inspiring and informative. To me it highlighted how much of our own reality is built on sh*t we take for granted and perceptions we don't give a second thought to. “Would you trade your vision for your swimming achievements?” is a questions James was once asked. The answer is no... because the life he lives has taken him around this beautiful world. And what is beauty when we cannot see it? FYI James has swam open water in every single continent in the world (besides Antarctica) over a period of 925 days.... and never had to punch a shark in the face! Contact James for speaking or purchase his book Blind Vision via www.jamespittar.com --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/roll-withthepunches/message

You have to be careful when you venture out and do something that you’re passionate about. you never know if it’s going to take off. But there is a good chance that it will.
