I'd love to hear your thoughts on the podcast! Let me know via text :)In this very powerful episode, I sit down with the extraordinary Kelly-Anne Kerley, author of the compelling memoir Breaking Up with My Wheelchair. Together, we have an honest, heartfelt, and at times humorous conversation about trauma, healing, identity—and the journey of turning deeply personal stories into audiobooks.Kelly-Anne's life was changed in an instant when she was hit by a car, resulting in a devastating chain of injuries: a traumatic brain injury (TBI), incomplete spinal cord injury (SCI), multiple surgeries, and months of intense rehabilitation. But her story isn't just about pain—it's about power. From being completely incapacitated to learning how to walk, function, and even ride again, Breaking Up with My Wheelchair is a celebration of strength, mindset, and triumph. In this episode, I also open up for the first time about my own recent trauma—a cancer scare that affected my appearance and deeply challenged my sense of self. Vulnerability met vulnerability in our chat, and it became clear that storytelling through audio is more than just a format—it's a form of healing.

Dr Selena Fisk is a data storyteller who is passionate about helping others sort through the numbers to tell the real stories and lead positive change. Dr Fisk fiercely advocates for a world in which we are all data-informed, not data-driven; though she realises that this isn't a skill set we all have or are confident in.As a data coach and storyteller, Selena is as enthusiastic about building data storytelling skills in others as she is about building her own understanding of the evolving ways data can support individuals, organisations and communities to flourish and thrive. For Dr Fisk, using data in a way that benefits others is the only way to use it. She believes that nothing will accelerate the impact we can have as humans like being able to see trends in the numbers and using the information alongside our understanding of context to inform our decisions.Dr Fisk mentors executive, senior and middle leaders as well as employees and team members in data storytelling, aiming to positively impact the organisations in which they work. She has also authored and released 4 books on data storytelling and on The Simone Feiler Podcast discusses the content and experience creating her debut audiobook I'm Not a Numbers Person. To find out more about Dr Selena Fisk click hereFor your copy of I'm Not a Numbers Person click here. What's your story?I'd love to chat!Contact me here.

RECORDED VIA ZOOM.Zac and Jane Jones chat candidly on The Simone Feiler Podcast about their journey with their co-authored book Why the Fallen? How the real-life story came to be written and how, through extreme difficulties, including a prison sentence, it brought the mother and son closer together and on a quest to help other people. Here's the blurb on the story:This brutally honest true story of an everyday Aussie kid and his mother is a wake up call.Co-authored by mother and son, this cautionary tale shares how and why an educated, intelligent teenager from a loving family with the world at his feet, ended up falling so badly he found himself in prison. The honest, raw account of a young man's life spiraling so terribly out of control, the reality of the consequences, and the retrospect now in play, sheds a glaring light on how lives can be forever changed, or worst still lost, through binge-drinking, drug abuse and driving under the influence. Despite the sometimes-fractured relationship and the reality of the circumstances they found themselves in, this mother and son deliver a harrowing side by side account of how their lives went from top of the world to rock-bottom.Why The Fallen? gives us belief that even when all appears lost, 'Hope Springs Eternal', relationships can be mended and lives can be changed for the better. Every parent should put this book in the hands of their teenager, before they get their licence, experiment with drugs or succumb to the culture of binge-drinking. Every young person should put this book in the hands of their parents, to share the emotional rollercoaster and often misguided beliefs facing young people of today.Find out more about Zac and Jane Jones here.Get Why The Fallen audiobook here. What's your story?I'd love to chat!Contact me here. What's your story?I'd love to chat!Contact me here.
