Chad describes starting his walk at 5:30 AM, unplugged and without a specific plan, following the coast northward. He experienced a second wind and a sense of strength he hadn't felt in years, which was emotionally powerful for him. Sales during November and December grew 5.3% year over year to $936.3 billion, below the major trade group’s prediction for growth of between 6% and 8% over the year prior. In early November, NRF had projected spending of between $942.6 billion and $960.4 billion. The retail sales number excludes spending at automobile dealers, gasoline stations and restaurants, and is based on data from the U.S. Census Bureau. It covers the period from Nov. 1 to Dec. 31. The holiday sales gains include the impact of inflation, which drives up total sales. The consumer price index, which measures the cost of a broad mix of goods and services, was up 6.5% in December compared with a year ago, according to the Labor Department. For retailers, the shopping season’s results reflect the challenges ahead. As Americans continue to pay higher prices for groceries, housing and more month after month, they are racking up credit card balances, spending down savings and having fewer dollars for discretionary spending. Plus, retailers are following years of extraordinary spending. During the Covid pandemic, Americans fought boredom and used stimulus checks by buying loungewear, throw pillows, kitchen supplies, home theater systems and more. That translated to sharp year-over-year jumps in retail sales in the past two holiday seasons — a 14.1% gain in 2021 and 8.3% gain in 2020. On average, holidays sales have grown by 4.9% annually over the past decade, according to NRF. NRF Chief Executive Matt Shay said those upward leaps were unsustainable, especially as people return to commuting, going out to dinner and booking vacations again. Of those jets, most were embarking on short-haul flights of less than 500 miles that “could have easily been train or car trips.” One plane carried its passengers a mere 13 miles to attend the event. The analysis, conducted by Dutch environmental consulting firm CE Delft, also revealed that the number of arrivals and departures out of Davos airports included neighboring countries such as Germany, France, and Italy. As one of our guests, Dr. Tony DiGioia (EP332), has said, healthcare has been pushed to its limits this past year; but that doesn't mean that nothing good has come of it. Celebrating our bright spots and using our experiences to inform future innovations is really the key to more accessible, equitable, and higher quality of care. While the timing of the celebration could, in general, be better given the latest pandemic news, as they say, there's no time like the present. So, let's do this thing. Also, it's just definitely good from a mental health perspective to find bright spots and to be grateful for them. So, let me kick this off with all of the gratitude I can hold in my two hands for anybody listening who is on the so-called front line of healthcare. My appreciation cannot be expressed more fiercely. I wish, in fact, that there was more that I/we could do to address the systemic issues that plague our healthcare industry and really impact you directly. Speaking of doctors as one of these frontline healthcare groups, in the Doximity Physician Compensation Report that was released for this past year, here's four stats to know:   Twenty-two percent of physicians are considering early retirement because of overwork. Sixteen percent of physicians are looking for another employer because of overwork. Twelve percent of physicians are looking for another career because of overwork. Twenty-seven percent of physicians said they're not overworked, so I guess there's that—that's a bright spot. So, all you docs, nurses, PAs, social workers, therapists of all kinds, any other healthcare workers: Thank you for all that you do even in the face of these adversities and a bunch of seemingly shortsighted policy and/or administrative decisions. Take care of yourself first and foremost. We need you; we appreciate you. Thank you. I'd also like to thank everybody who listened to Relentless Health Value this past year. He also was dancing a lot at all the big events in the northern scene. He begins his music career as a record collector and following the dj's. He befriends Manchester DJ Greg Wilson and the rest is history.

TRUE HOUSE STORIES W/ CHAD JACKSON # 073 - PART 2 Chad Jackson in this part talks about his start with his new professional DJ work in the clubs. He begins in the northern part of the UK and is given the chance to take over from DJ Greg Wilson. As he explains it the baton was passed on to him and he is focused on making his Radio show an incredible listening experience on Radio Piccadilly Manchester. In 1986 he decided to sign himself into the DMC World Competition which landed him second place for that year. In 1987 he is asked to come back but the winner from 1986 decides he does not want to partake in the competition and then Chad is decorated as winner. Since now he is the winner officially this gives him a huge chance to travel the world bringing him to New York City and meeting the heads of Def Jam and all the people in the musical community. He even finds his way to production and remixing with "Hear The Drummer Get Wicked" and works toward the University tour and becomes a lecturer on production and remixing. Today he works at all the festivals around the UK and the world.

This is one of those stories you need to hear to believe. Chad Jackson and his mates were on the hunt for one of the world's most feared waves, when things took a turn. Cyclops was a bit of a myth back then, but when that myth became a reality, things got hectic. Chad broke his back taking it on and pretty much thought his number was up. But it was that moment that sparked a fresh and creative new direction in his life. It's still early doors, but Chad's lived a hell of a life. He's been on the bodyboarding world tour, he was a regular on the Tenison movies and he's currently the man behind clothing brand Grand Flavour.

Despite our wildly different ideologies, Chad graciously answers our questions and discusses what caused him to switch from being a Democrat to a conservative. He shares how he got involved in the production of the film and debates the merits of the different approaches to the "negro problem" that Booker T Washington and WEB DuBois promoted. Chad maintains that the South had more racial harmony during MLK's life than our history books teach and suggests that LBJ's war on poverty has hurt the black community rather than help it. We discuss whether the Democrats or the Republicans actually have the answers to our nation's racial problems, and Chad shares his view on the murder of George Floyd. While our viewpoints are worlds apart, we are grateful for the respectful dialog and the opportunity to discuss divergent beliefs in a productive and mutually challenging way.

They are fueled by equal parts cheap beer, cheap thrills and Cheap Trick. Over the band’s multi-year existence, songwriter/leader Jeremy Scott has developed an “anything but another crappy love song” ethos. This has resulted in the songs on the band’s first full-length, Rockets Bells and Poetry. (“We stole the title from Mama Cass Elliott,” Scott explains.) Over the course of said album, the band prove conversant with, among other things, Rascals-like blue-eyed grooves (Don’t Be So Easy. Along with grisly true crime balladry (57 Bayview), updated Del Shannonesque psychodrama (Hot Tears). And there's honest flat out rock and roll (I’m on the Dish But I Ain’t No Rag). This LP is both a stand-alone statement and a teaser for the band’s revved up live show. Rockets Bells and Poetry should satisfy anyone’s rock/garage/power-pop itch quite nicely. The Toy Trucks deliver stomping pop flavours on debut platter The Memphis Flyer Further praise from The Memphis Flyer Jeremy Scott is familiar to any fan of Memphis music. He has played in the original Reigning Sound and groups backing Harlan T. Bobo and Dan Montgomery. Although his ensemble playing reveals a fine sense of playing at the service of the song, it's barely offered a glimpse of his songwriting talents. For a time, he led the Wallendas, which also included longtime guitar ace Jim Duckworth, but that was ancient history in pop terms, and never resulted in a full length release. Nonetheless, as Scott's Sunday night DJ slot on WEVL makes clear, he is steeped in the history of pop and rock, old and new, and something was bound to come of it. Now, with his band The Toy Trucks making their debut, rockets bells and poetry (Black & Wyatt), we can finally hear all that cumulative experience blossom into some fine material. Commercial Appeal FTBOTRB review of Rockets, Bells and Poetry Visceral. Well, you have been warned in the opening track that there is a distinct possibility you may get disemboweled. It's a raucous and driven way to open this excellent LP from the Memphis circuit's cheap beer driven rockers. However, you're in for quite a ride with Rockets, Bells and Poetry, it's not all balls out rocking. There's the self-effacing heart string plucker Show You Love which plays out the show this week. The whole sound of this LP is one of transition and exploration. The quite carnival-like C D B gives way to the anthemic Hot Tears without so much as a warning. Despite band leader Jeremy Scott professing the band is past its sell by date this recording is much more than that. Its freshness belies Jeremy's statement and one can only wonder how much that tongue in cheek comment actually influences the bands' sound. It is boyish, scruffy and offers more than an occasional sense of childlike wonderment. Much can be learnt from a few listens of this new offering from The Toy Trucks, such as punk glockenspiel. You may never have been touched by it before, but from now on you'll never be untouched. Excellent and rewarding music from past-it rockers who are only just beginning their journey. FTBOTRB official verdict: essential listening.

In this episode we talk with Chad Jackson of Lifecyle Insights to clear up some misconceptions around model based definition (MBD) and model based enterprise (MBE). The biggest thing to remember is that MBD and MBE isn’t a “thing” or a “product” – you can’t just say “let’s do MBD” or ask a services company “can you do MBD?” It’s a process, and when done properly, companies can see tremendous benefits to productivity and the bottom line. “There's all sorts of kind of levels of maturity. But let me step back and talk about misconceptions. I think in the industry, we have talked about going drawingless for real long time. I mean, this is a concept that started even 20 years ago, is when we started talking about that idea. I think it's a good vision. I think the idea that you can jump directly from using a 2D drawing as the authoritative source that defines the design, jumping from that to a 3D model that's fully annotated and not taking steps in between. I think that's a misconception. I just don't see a lot of companies doing that. There are intermediate steps kind of in between. Also, I think there's a misconception perhaps that the idea that you have to get to a 3D model plus an annotation is a false one as well. You need to progress as far down the path towards that to where you get value out of it as a company. While vision is good, ultimately you have to reap benefit, it has to make an impact in efficiency or hard dollars. I think that's really, really important. But in terms of progression, you start off with a drawing. You can have the model and the drawing and maybe not have them connected because you're going to need to design a mold using the 3D model. You're not going to really use a drawing to do that today. There's the concept of using associated models and drawings that you make a change in one place, it ripples to the other. Then kind of the next level of progression is going to that model with annotations with the drawing and then without a drawing. There's multiple steps.
