The stories we are told shape our lives. They influence how we see ourselves—and how we understand the world around us. Today, as in the days of Paul, the dominant story is often one of peace through violence, where might makes right. Paul, however, proclaims a better story: one in which violence is not passed on, but absorbed through Christ on the cross. In this message, Oran explores this transformative narrative by unpacking the centrepiece of Colossians 1—the Messiah Hymn.

What if real change requires more than good intentions? In this New Year sermon, Oran explores Jesus' parable of new wine and new wineskins, and what it reveals about growth, frustration, and transformation. Jesus is not calling us to despise the old, but to discern when a season has ended and to make room for the new work God is doing among us. A reflection on change, grace, and the courage it takes to trust that God is still making all things new.

In this episode, Stephen Seckler speaks with Oran Kaufman, a mediator with an extensive background in family law. They discuss Oran's journey from litigation to mediation, the skills required to be a mediator, and how mediation has changed over the last 30 years. Oran shares insights on the differences between mediation and litigation, the importance of listening, and the challenges of building a mediation practice. The conversation also touches on collaborative law, alternative legal careers, and the impact of technology on mediation. Takeaways Mediation requires a different skill set than litigation. Listening is a crucial skill for both mediators and lawyers. Transitioning from litigation to mediation can lower work related stress. Collaborative law offers an alternative to traditional litigation. Silence can be a powerful tool in mediation.
Trauma is indifferent to morality. It does not weigh guilt or innocence; it leaves its mark based on impact, not intention. Paul, once a fierce persecutor of the early church, likely carried deep trauma after his encounter with Christ on the road to Damascus. In this message, Oran explores signs of trauma reflected in Paul's writings and considers what we can learn from his journey as both the one who inflicted harm and the one who later bore its weight.

Me grita y me discrimina.... Liminal space is that strange and often uncomfortable place we find ourselves when the old has ended but the new has not yet begun. It can be a time marked by confusion, uncertainty, and even anxiety. Though we may be tempted to avoid it or rush our way through, liminal space plays a vital role in our growth and transformation. It is also said to be the place where we most profoundly encounter God. In this message, Oran explores the meaning of liminal space, examines its presence throughout Scripture, and considers how we might learn to wait well in these shadowy in-between places.

Carlos Mera and Oran van Dort discuss the spike in coffee prices. Despite so many factors affecting the coffee market in the last couple of years, global exports in the 12 months to August remained remarkably stable. A significant drop in Brazilian exports is being offset by increases in a number of countries, from large producers like Vietnam and Colombia to tiny Madagascar. Looking at the 2026/27 crop year, we expect a large global surplus, assuming more or less normal weather ahead, but in the short term, we expect high volatility. Brazil's arabica areas need more rainfall in the second half of October to secure a good production recovery next season, but also, certified stocks are declining, partially as an unintended consequence of US tariffs. This week, we're diving into one of the most bizarre R&B hits of the 80s. With its slick production and dramatic monologue, “The Rain” by Oran “Juice” Jones became a Top 10 smash in 1986 before fading into obscurity. Not EVERYONE forgot the track, however, as Donald Glover and the cast of Saturday Night Live resurrected it in 2018 with a spot-on and hilarious parody. This week, we're joined by Two Dollar Late Fee host Zak Shaffer to unpack this forgotten gem, the wild narrative it spins, and the legacy of a one-hit wonder who made heartbreak sound strangely cinematic. “Be perfect, therefore, as your Heavenly Father is perfect.” These striking words from Christ, spoken during the Sermon on the Mount, carry an enormous weight. How are we supposed to grasp such a command, let alone live out a life of perfection? In this episode, Oran explores the idea of “perfection,” considering both its ancient meaning and our modern assumptions, to uncover how Jesus may actually be calling us not to flawlessness, but to wholeness.

In this episode of The Alpha Male Coach Podcast, we explore the true purpose of relationships—not just romantic partnerships or friendships, but all forms of relationships, including those with family, children, places, objects, and even the self. From a spiritual perspective, relationships are not random or superficial—they are the spiritual technology through which we evolve, grow, and transform our energy.Kevin introduces a foundational idea: for any religion or spiritual path to be truly valuable and unified with others, it must contain two essential components—generosity and ego transcendence. In other words, all spiritual growth is about giving more and taming the self-centered mind. This principle becomes the lens through which we examine every relationship in life.Through this lens, Kevin explores how all relationships serve a dual purpose. They are either:An opportunity to give more—to love, to serve, to support, or even just to offer gratitude; orAn opportunity to let go—to witness our reactivity, confront our triggers, and dissolve the ego's grip on our identity. He dives deep into the four special types of relationships that most men encounter:Family: These are karmically chosen bonds, often challenging, always deeply significant. Family members are permanent teammates who mirror your deepest lessons and patterns.Marriage/Partnership: A profound spiritual alliance, whether arranged or chosen, that intensifies your growth. Your partner is meant to activate your karma—and support you in transforming it.Children: Souls who choose you as their parent for karmic work. Especially in their early years, they help you grow by mirroring your energy back to you.Friends: These are energetic guideposts that shift and evolve throughout life. They reflect where you are on your journey and offer both support and challenge.Kevin explains how these relationships are not random, but energetically aligned to provide exactly the lessons, opportunities, and support your soul needs to play the “game of life.” He reframes relationships not as static roles but as vehicles of consciousness, constantly evolving and always offering a chance to become more proactive, more conscious, and more connected.Ultimately, this episode is a reminder that relationships are how we play the game. They're the medium through which we practice the real rules: to give generously and to subdue the ego. When you understand that, you no longer take relationships personally or cling to them permanently—you begin to see them as sacred tools in your spiritual evolution.Whether you're navigating family dynamics, romantic challenges, fatherhood, or shifting friendships, this episode gives you a powerful framework to understand your relationships and use them to elevate your alpha.
