n an exciting development for fans of the popular video game Among Us, CBS Studios has unveiled the voice cast for the upcoming animated series based on the game. The cast features some of the entertainment industry's most beloved actors, including Randall Park of Fresh Off the Boat, Yvette Nicole Brown from Community, Elijah Wood from The Lord of the Rings saga, and Ashley Johnson, known for her role in Critical Role. The series promises to bring the thrilling and deceitful world of Among Us to life, with each actor voicing a member of The Skeld, a spaceship crew navigating through sabotage and betrayal. Developed by CBS Studios and animated by Titmouse, the studio behind Star Trek: Lower Decks and The Legend of Vox Machina, the Among Us animated series has not yet announced a streaming platform or network. Owen Dennis, known for Infinity Train, leads the creative charge as the creator of the series. He is joined by executive producers Forest Willard, Marcus Bromander, and Carl Neisser of Innersloth (the creators of the Among Us game) along with Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio, and Ben Kalina from Titmouse. The Among Us game, first released in 2018, saw a massive surge in popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic. It revolves around crewmates trying to complete tasks on a spaceship while imposters sabotage their efforts and eliminate them. Players must deduce who the imposters are and vote them off the ship to survive. Despite plans for a sequel, the game's developers chose to expand the original game with new features and maps instead.

Another thrilling installment of MAYbe It's Horror is upon us with the 2001 cinematic masterpiece, Freddy Got Fingered. The film stars Tom Green, who also directed and wrote the film, along with his friend, Derek Harvie. The film was nominated for a total of eight Razzie Awards, winning five: worst screenplay, worst actor, worst director, worst screen couple, and worst picture, though it lost for worst supporting actor, worst supporting actress, and worst movie of decade. We compare the film to its contemporaries: Tomcats, American Pie, Say It Isn't So, Joe Dirt, and so forth. Rip Torn plays Green's onscreen father, Jim Brody. We talk about his depiction, the comparisons to Green's real-life, and whether or not he did in fact do the Freddy fingering. Marisa Coughlan plays Betty Menger, Green's differently-abled significant other, whose passions are rocket propulsion and fellatio. Harland Williams plays Darren, the only functional person in the film. We also talk about the saddest misfortune of this film, the fact that all of Stephen Tobolowsky's scenes were cut due to homophobic screen-testers. Sadly, as the film is now owned by Disney, it seems the likelihood of the long-desired Director's Cut will never happen. We also discuss X-Ray Cat and Zebras in America by Beavis and Butthead alum, Chris Prynoski. How does this film compare to The Breakfast Club with Anthony Michael Hall and Kazam with Shaquille O'Neil? We talk about it. Did you know some poor MF was arrested over this film in 2016? For a warrant from 2002! That is the slothly hand of justice working wonders. This week's "Hidden Track" is Hellfir, with their song, Conquerors. Animation guru and Titmouse Founder Chris Prynoski offers very specific advice for aspiring animators and considers the question "Is Art School worth it?"
Chris Prynoski never dreamed he would run his own animation studio until he started to do just that with Titmouse Inc. Chris joins episode 138 of the podcast to talk about starting out in animation in the early nineties at MTV, working on many titles in the Liquid Television era. Chris also worked on Beavis and Butthead Do America, helping to plot out the famous hallucination sequence in the movie. But then Chris just wanted to start his own T-shirt company on the side of his animation career, and Titmouse was born. Chris quickly learned he could actually start his own animation studio, and Titmouse has become a giant player in cartoons today, producing fan favorites on Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and Netflix including Metalocoplyse, The Venture Brothers, and Big Mouth. Titmouse Inc is also integral in one of the most successful Kickstarter campaigns in history for Critical Role - The Legend of Vox Machina, a new animated series based in the realm of Dungeons and Dragons. Episode 10! Chris Prynoski, animation director and co-owner of Titmouse, Inc., the animation studio behind Metalocalypse, Tigtone, The Venture Brothers, Big Mouth, Niko & The Sword of Light, and many more, stops by for a cocktail and brings his own recipe in this very special episode of Daydrinking with Gary & Elliot! This episode's first featured drink by Elliot: Misty's Margarita 1 ½ oz. Milagro Tequila Reposado ½ oz. Cynar ½ oz. fresh-squeezed lime juice ½ oz. fresh-squeezed red grapefruit juice ½ oz. agave syrup 1 dash Dr. Adam Elmegirab’s Spanish Bitters Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until cold. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice and garnish with a grapefruit twist, first giving it a squeeze to express the grapefruit oils over the top of the drink. (Note: If you don't have Spanish Bitters, you can substitute a dash a Regan’s Orange Bitters, as both make use of citrus peel in their bases.) This episode's second drink by Chris P.: The Hillbilly X-treme! 2oz - cheap well whiskey 8oz - Mountain Dew in a CAN (extra good if you get the old school recipe with sugar instead of corn syrup) 1 squirt - fake lime juice (like the kind that comes in a plastic lime. You could use a real lime, but that would make it classier.) A few ice cubes Some duct tape Open the can of Mountain Dew and pour the contents into a cup or some other container. Saw off the top of the Mountain Dew can or cut it off with scissors. Throw away the top of the can (or recycle it if you can!) Use the duct tape to cover the sharp edge of the can. Go all the way around. You don’t want to get a bleeding lip! Throw a few ice cubes into the can. Pour in the cheap whiskey. Fill up the rest of the can with the Mountain Dew you poured out earlier, add a liberal squirt of lime juice, and give it a quick swirl with your middle finger. Lick off your finger and point it at your favorite authority figure as you slowly sip your drink, staring them directly in the eyes. You have now enjoyed a Hillbilly X-Treme! Fun fact : Mountain Dew was originally invented as a mixer for whiskey. Like the sound of the Misty's Margarita? That recipe and plenty more like it can be found in Elliot's book Create 100 Cocktails, available right now in print on Amazon! https://www.amazon.com/dp/1791870589 Also available as an ebook on on Gumroad: https://gum.co/aWfNX

Episode 40 of One Week Only! This week’s key film is “The Eyes of my Mother,” an incredibly creepy horror film about a young girl who develops a dark obsession with eyes after the tragic death of her optometrist mother. Directed by Nicolas Pesce, and featuring beautiful black & white cinematography, this is a striking directorial debut that terrifies without every being explicit or grotesque. Now playing in Los Angeles & New York, from Magnet Releasing. Awards season is in full swing! We take a closer look at the Film Independent Spirit Award nominations, and highlight some of our favorites, from the astonishing recognition for “Chronic” and “The Childhood of a Leader” to some well-deserved Best Director nominations for female directors Andrea Arnold and Kelly Reichardt. We also review the documentary “Mifune: The Last Samurai” about the legendary Japanese actor, directed by Steven Okazaki; the anime comedy “your name” about two teenagers who find themselves switching bodies, directed by Makota Shinkai; the French drama “Things to Come” about a philosophy professor going through a midlife crisis, starring Isabelle Huppert and directed by Mia Hansen-Løve; and the animated satire “Nerdland” about two hapless friends trying to get famous in Hollywood, directed by Chris Prynoski. Hosted by Carlos Aguilar & Conor Holt. Music by Kevin MacLeod at www.incompetech.com
Nerdland was produced by Adult Swim production powerhouse Titmouse Inc., the group of animators responsible for creating some of the most revolutionary cartoons to have been featured on television ever. These guys made the contemporary classics Black Dynamite, China, IL, Metalocalypse, Superjail! and The Venture Brothers, which everyone should check out if only for their sheer abrasive creativity. The same can be said for Nerdland; the script, penned by Se7en screenwriter Andrew Kevin Walker, contributes a little extra insanity. The film is certainly not for everyone (at one point you get a little too acquainted with one of the protagonist's buttholes), but it is one of the most unique films you will see all year. No Film School's Jon Fusco sat down with Mr. Walker and Chris Prynoski, head honcho at Titmouse, who was so stricken by the script that he requested to direct the film. We discussed how the director and writer's collaboration should be so seamless that the audience shouldn't be sure who's responsible for what in the final cut.
Probably one of the best interviews we've ever done. Everything about Megas XLR you've ever wanted to know about Megas XLR from creators, George Krstic, Jody Schaeffer, Chris Prynoski, and lead designer, Edward Artinian. A must-listen!
