We've all had them. Dark, dank, depressing cloudy days. And they always seem to come at the worst possible time. You wake up late, you have to skip breakfast, you run into heavy traffic, aaand you're late for your important meeting. Ugh. Why does it all happen at once?Let's face it, no matter how wonderful life is, we all have days that aren't sunshine and unicorns. In our last episode we looked at the first two parts of executing a Blue-Sky Paradigm – Determining what the particular cloud is and then moving to gain a new perspective.Today we look at the remaining three practices of the Blue-Sky Paradigm. Let's get started.Make it RAIN. Sometimes your thoughts, feelings, and mood can be especially challenging to deal with. And when it's more than you can bear, you might want to pour down a heavy rain of judgment on your problems to drown them out. But how can we do that productively? Huberman Lab Podcast Notes Key Takeaways High-quality sleep is critical! Sleep is the foundation of mental health, cognitive health, and performanceViewing direct morning sunlight within 30-60 minutes of waking will help you fall asleep and stay asleep at night, and optimize cortisol & adenosine levelsLayer in multiple levers to be more alert: morning sunlight viewing, increasing body temperature, delaying caffeine, movement/exercise upon waking, light breakfastStack the deck to give your body predictable autonomic timing and properly set circadian rhythm to optimize sleep and wakefulness – even if you're tired, exercise a little (doesn't have to be intense) and eat a light breakfast, etc.Avoid overhead fluorescent light as much as possible between 10pm-4am – these lights will eliminate melatonin circulating in brain & body and will hinder ability to fall and stay asleep (instead, try soft lamps and dim screens as much as possible without straining eyes)Viewing afternoon sunlight from sunset can help offset some of the negative effects of light viewing in the evening (10 pm-4 am)Try to maintain a consistent sleep/wake schedule (+/- 1 hour) 7 days a week! When all else fails, try this sleep stack cocktail (buy single ingredient supplements so you can use what works, ditch what doesn't): magnesium threonate (145mg, 30-60 minutes before bed) + theanine (100-400mg, 30-60 minutes before bed) + apigenin (50mg, 30-60 minutes before bed)Sleep apnea can have very damaging effects on sleep and health – train nasal breathing with these methods: (1) use medical tape to tape mouth shut during sleep; (2) practice nasal breathing only during light exercise/cardio boutsRead the full notes @ podcastnotes.orgIn this episode, I describe a comprehensive toolkit consisting of behavioral and supplement-based tools that you can customize to enhance the quality, duration and impact of your sleep. This has an enormous positive impact on your overall health and daytime functioning, brain, hormones and immune system. I teach you how to effectively harness light (and darkness), temperature, food, exercise, caffeine, supplements, and digital devices in order to fall asleep faster, stay deeply asleep longer and overall, and achieve better quality sleep. I also describe how these tools can be modified to recover quickly from a poor night's sleep, jet lag or bouts of shift work. Headlines from the past week you might have missed.
We're just ordinary people who've encountered an extraordinary God (the one true God!). From time to time, we have some really cool conversations. So we decided to switch on some mics and make a podcast out of it! Unashamedly Christian, unapologetically unscripted (most times!). And we're intentional about making Christian concepts both practical and visible in the life of the disciple. Our podcast isn't intended to be a teaching platform. Instead, it's a public dialogue designed to cause us (the hosts) and you (the listener) to be provoked with godly thoughts and inspired to walk closer with God. And also, to gain a practical perspective of the Christian faith lived out! Thanks for taking the time to check out this episode! We love to hear your voice in our convos, so do drop a comment to share your thoughts. If it helped you, then please share it with others too

“It’s the emptiness we’re afraid of. Our life is not made up of magic, it’s made up of these empty moments, full moments, thats all we have; the pain we’re experiencing, the boredom, the fleeting happiness, that’s the moment. But we owe it to this great brightness not to run away, to see these moments as they really are. Because if nothing is special that means everything is special.” - Emily EslamiIn her ever timely precept series, Emily takes a deep dive into refraining from intoxicants, from a nice glass of wine over pasta, to blowing your mind over a pile of mushrooms, who do we harm when we try to escape, how much is too much, how strictly do these rules want to be taken exactly, and what even is this bright mind we're so afraid of clouding?? Find out here...

Perhaps you feel like I do when it's cloudy out and the sun isn't shining. Perhaps you want to pull the covers over your head and wait for a sunnier day to come out and live. What is it about sunless days that affects us so much? Well, we'll discuss this question, only on a spiritual level. Because the sun we will be talking about today is actually the Son of God. And when He is shining into our hearts, we are doing just fine. But when the clouds cast over Him, we immediately begin to struggle. We'll discuss all of these things including the solution to this problem. Blessings to you!
The past few days have been super-hot and sunny here in the UK. Today it's a lot cooler, in fact, it's grey, cold and cloudy…..and I LOVE it!
Rosita is frustrated because she can’t join her friends at the movies. Mami reminds Rosita that on cloudy-feeling days, we can talk about our feelings.
When Rosita’s tummy feels funny because her papi is still in the hospital, Mami helps her notice that she’s feeling worried, and they get busy writing love notes for Papi’s return.
Rosita’s papi is coming home from the hospital, and her family celebrates by singing together and eating Mami’s homemade cake.

Severin Borenstein, E.T. Grether Professor, Haas School of Business, University of California Scott Jacobs, CEO and Co-founder, Generate Capital Lynn Jurich, Chief Executive Officer, Sunrun When the U.S slapped 30 percent tariffs on imported solar panels, headlines heralded bad times ahead for clean energy in this country. But the stock prices of solar installers increased because the hit could have been worse. Solar entrepreneur and advocate, Jigar Shah, said it was “good news.” Our guest and professor from University of California Berkeley, Severin Borenstein said, “there's no question, this is a policy that was designed to make renewables more expensive because it doesn't make any economic sense beyond that.” Listen to a conversation about the future of solar. This program was recorded live at The Commonwealth Club in San Francisco on February 21, 2018.
Seasons change. Here's a bit of advice (and perspective) on how to find the light on those dark days, make the most of every circumstance and to remember that for now is not forever. Organizations are re-inventing themselves to deliver deeper and more valuable experiences across all aspects of the customer’s journey. No matter the size or industry, each supplier and partner plays a critical role in an organization’s ability to provide an exceptional customer experience. In May, at the IBM Smarter Commerce Global Summit in Tampa, FL, IBM introduced new cloud-based and on premise softwareand services to help clients deepen engagement with partners and suppliers to help ensure goods and services are delivered precisely when and where they are needed. The new B2B integration software will provide better insight and control over today’s extended value chain as well as lower risk and enhance compliance. Joining me today to tell us what this all means for not only IBM's clients but the venerable giant's internal structure is Terrence Curley, Director of Products for B2B & Commerce at IBM.
