This week we're talking about an old fun weird platformer, DYNAMITE HEADDY! This game was developed by Treasure which is a personal fave of this show and it's got a lot of charm and was quite fun to play. Listen to Matt, Hunter, and EJ as they chat about what they got out of this under-loved Sega Genesis game! We finish up with some discussion about the upcoming RETRO GAMES TOURNAMENT which you can check out if you head over to our Patreon. But this week, we're actually covering of the rare Sega games I played as a kid. The sexy as hell shooter known as Vectorman. There were a few games on the Sega side of the console wars back in the 90's that genuinely made me jealous as a Super Nintendo kid, and Vectorman was one of them. I absolutely adored the way it looked (still do), and it was a surprisingly competent platformer/shooter as well. You play as a bot made out of orbs, and you spend the game running, gunning, an transforming as you take on other robots made of orbs. And you blow up a lot of TVs, too. It's a fairly difficult game, but one that gets pretty beatable with a little practice. I think it's a must-play game in the Genesis library. My guest this week was the guy that suffered my wrath on the Ecco the Dolphin episode, my pal Andre. We got into how good Vectorman looks, how decently it plays, he frustratingly tough it can be, and of course, we made a bunch of balls jokes. And before we talk balls, I put together another edition of the Infamous Intro! This week, someone asks if I could buy one gaming studio, who would it be? What's on my Mt. Rushmore of video game collection items? And what gaming mechanic has become wayyyy too over played? Plus we play another round of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One', too! This one features 3 Genesis platformers: Quackshot, Rocket Knight Adventures, and Dynamite Headdy. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

https://patreon.com/dynamiteneddy Hello and welcome to Dynamite Neddy - it's the retro games podcast where a couple of auld pals swap a couple of auld games. It's relaunch day, and after a wee trip down memory lane we're kicking things off than with a look at our namesake game, the incredible Dynamite Headdy on the Sega Mega Drive.
We leap back in time to the Mega Drive to talk about two action classics back when action games meant jumping and avoiding and not perfect parries. Grab a festive mug, fill it with your favorite hot beverage, and huddle up to your phone or other podcast listening device for a very special Pretty Pixels Xmas Special. Yes, I said “special” twice, because this episode is filled with holiday magic. Join us (Ron, Paul, and Joey) as we recall some of our fondest (and… regular-ist?) Christmas and holiday memories. She has a great Christmas song so that totally fits the theme. Kind of. Maybe. Let's move on. We also talk about the newest Nintendo Online Plus Expansion Pack games, the free Final Fantasy VII Remake PS5 upgrade for PS Plus members, Hades' Hugo Award win, and what we've been playing. Entering DAC Year Two, it's the same bullshit: I rant about superhero movies while George plays games from 30 fucking years ago. No idea why anyone listens to this, but we're not going to stop. This is all we have left, and the march to our deaths, likely in a murder-suicide, continues unabated. Anyway, I watched Wonder Woman 1984, so I had to talk about that piece of shit. George is having more PS5 Problems, which isn't a surprise at this point, because that console is kinda bad. I also played Simon's Quest, so I have a mini-Retro Corner about that, but the Main Event is a Treasure showcase. Specifically, Gunstar Heroes, Alien Soldier, and Dynamite Headdy. I recently heard that KFC was releasing a new console. Apparently they made this news known back in June, but I saw nothing about it. Weird. What a way to end 2020. This week the Omega Cops -- Daemon Hatfield, Tina Amini, Sam Claiborn, and Justin Davis -- are reeling from the news that Microsoft is buying Bethesda. Xbox Series went up for pre-order this week, and it was a mess just like the PS5 pre-orders. Sam has thoughts on Super Mario 3D All-Stars, while Daemon and Justin are playing Hades. The music in this episode is from the Sega Genesis classic Dynamite Headdy.

¡A jugar maldit@s! Dewa, mata JK, Travol y RodoR
Gary and Kole give six old games a second thought, making a case for why they are either hidden gems or unfairly maligned classics. The six games are Alter Ego, Dynamite Headdy, Fallout Tactics, Ghoul School, Legend of the Mystical Ninja, and Ranger X. This is a live episode from the 2019 Portland Retro Gaming Expo. Thanks so much to everyone who came out, and everyone who backed our Patreon (http://patreon.com/duckfeedtv) and made this possible.

This week on Our Three Cents, the boys forms a series of vendettas! A Treasure game for the Genesis, included on most Genesis collections, and yet none of us have played it? This is exactly the situation faced this week, as we review listener recommended Dynamite Headdy! Will this game be found deserving to be on the Genesis game collections, or is Headdy just another bad 16-bit mascot? We've gotten more questions via Retrovania.net, so we end the show off answering 4 of them! If you have a question, send it on over for a future episode, and we will try our best to not butcher your names. Want to skip around what else we've been doing? Start at that 7 minute mark! __________________________ If you enjoy this podcast, why not write a review wherever you download it from? It's easy, and helps people find us by accident. Don't lose your head, ARGonauts! We're talking about the games in the platformer genre that are not your typical run-of-the-mill. Evan Bourgault joins us again to share along with us the more obscure platformer titles we played and would like to see come back. Prepare for unlikely heroes such as a rocket-propelled marsupial, pink-haired feral child, and a mummy who lost his head! Before jumping into our main topic, we get into the news about a company buying up the publishing rights for over 60 games from the Acclaim library. That's followed by Ed Boon sharing behind the scenes footage from Mortal Kombat 3, a Dance Dance Revolution movie that's in the works, and some more NES games coming on Nintendo Switch Online. The Stage of History this week welcomes the head-turning platformer Dynamite Headdy and the wild PlayStation classic Tomba! Robert then shoots out ahead with Sparkster during Obscura. Way back in February we got a game recommendation and now we're finally getting to it! This week we play Dynamite Headdy for the Sega Genesis! If you're into boss fights then this is the game for you! The game features short and easy levels followed by ridiculously hard boss fights. It's fun, but challenging. Come have a drink with us! Cheers!
