“Your life is your story. Write well. Edit often.”-AnonymousHello dreamers! It is a pleasure to see you again! Here we are again with another great conversation! It is true that life is full of surprises, isn't it? In this episode, we are joined by Eli Horowitz, a novelist, journalist, and future counselor. In this talk, Eli discusses his humble beginnings, and how the support of a loved one led him to pivot his career of choice. He also discusses how our stories are not defined by the tough chapters of our lives. This conversation was enjoyable both in terms of its nature and experience.I hope you find his story as enjoyable as I did. Taking the time to care for yourself is always worthwhile, as is enjoying life a bit more. So maybe we will see each other again soon?----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Do you want to stay up to date with Eli? On this episode of Locked On Spurs, with news of Tony Parker out for the season after suffering a torn left quadriceps tendon during Game 2 of the West semifinals matchup against Houston, the Spurs find themselves searching for answers. Who will step up? How big of a loss is Parker? Is the loss of TP going to up-end any title shot? To discuss the impact of the loss of Parker, I am joined by Eli Horowitz of Pounding the Rock as we weigh in on the state of the Spurs without No. 9. #gospursgo Learn more about your ad choices. On this special edition of Locked On Spurs, I am live from NYC at the 2017 WNBA Draft as the San Antonio Stars will be picking number one and number five in the first round. Who will they select? Is it a no-brainer to select Kelsey Plum? Will they trade the No. 1 pick? To talk this and more I am joined by Eli Horowitz of Pounding the Rock and Tom Petrini of Project Spurs to discuss. #spurs #gospursgo #wnbadraft #sastars Learn more about your ad choices. On this episode of Locked On Spurs, I am joined by Eli Horowitz of Fan Rag, BBall Breakdown and Pounding the Rock to debate whether or not Pau Gasol's injury is good and bad for the Spurs. Eli takes the position that Pau's injury is bad looking at the West standings, team chemistry and more. I take the position the injury is good for the Spurs pointing to the fact it will allow other players to get a spike in minutes, how Gasol can benefit from being out and more. #spurs #gospursgo Learn more about your ad choices. Eli Horowitz is more than a writer who distributes his stories in non-traditional packages. Mostly: he's an entertainer seeking to land the occasional philosophical haymaker simply by writing himself out of the wild parameters he sets for himself. Along with Micah Bloomberg, he's also one-half of the team who created the smash podcast "Homecoming," and you'll love listening to him tell stories, including the one about the time he sat in a room and directed Oscar Isaac and Catherine Keener. On this episode of Locked On Spurs, I am joined by Eli Horowitz of Pounding the Rock, BBall Breakdown and Hardwood Paroxysm to break down the San Antonio Spurs recent signings of David Lee and Patricio Garino. Eli talks about how Garino might be Manu Ginobili-esque while I feel "Pato" will see plenty of time in Austin with the D-League. As for Lee, we talk about what exactly he will bring to the team despite his age and wear and tear on his body. Also on the show, we react to former Spur Antonio Daniels not fully agreeing with the Spurs re-signing Manu. Of course me and Eli had plenty to say about AD's thoughts. The Clock Without a Face (McSweeney's) An event for this new eye-catching, pentagonal mystery/puzzle/board book, featuring Eli Horowitz and Mac Barnett, two of the book's authors. Twelve emerald-studded numbers, each handmade and one of a kind, have been buried in 12 holes across the land. These treasures will belong to whoever digs them up first. The question: Where to dig? The only path to the answer: solve the riddle of the book. Eli Horowitz has edited and designed books and journals for McSweeney's for the past eight years. Before McSweeney's, Eli was employed as a carpenter and wrote science trivia questions tenuously linked to popular films. He was born in Virginia and now lives in San Francisco. Mac Barnett: Born to non-farmers in a California farming community, Mac now lives near San Francisco. He's on the board of directors of 826LA, a nonprofit writing center for students in Los Angeles, and he founded the Echo Park Time Travel Mart, a convenience store for time travelers. THIS EVENT WAS RECORDED LIVE AT SKYLIGHT BOOKS JULY 14, 2010.
