The sources provided for this podcast focus on the Newtown Bucks County Joint Municipal Authority (NBCJMA) board meeting held on 18 November 2025, detailing the proceedings, agenda items, and public discourse. The agenda confirms routine matters like approving minutes, reviewing finances, and receiving various reports (Engineer's, Solicitor's, Manager's, and Field), while also highlighting the motion to terminate the authority's controversial plan to construct a wastewater treatment plant. Public comments and an associated document reveal specific concerns, including a complex technical question regarding the discrepancy in Equivalent Dwelling Unit (EDU) calculation standards between NBCJMA and the Bucks County Water & Sewer Authority (BCWSA). Furthermore, the meeting addressed the significant consequences of terminating the proposed waste water treatment plant plan, particularly the process for offering the condemned land back to the original owners and the potential impact on resident sewer rates that had been raised to finance the land acquisition. The board ultimately voted to terminate the plan and discussed the legal process regarding the future of the land.

It's Friday, November 7th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Indian Christians rally for rights The Christian Community in the central Indian state of Chhattisgarh has planned to organize a public rally in protest of the ongoing discrimination against Christians there, reports International Christian Concern. The Civil Rights Rally is being organized by Rashtriya Christian Morcha, a nation-wide civil rights advocacy group, in association with the Christian community in Kanker. They seek to uphold justice, equality, and the values of the Indian Constitution. No date has been set. Numerous Hindu villages in the Kanker district previously erected billboards banning the entry of pastors and “converted Christians,” creating fear among members of the Christian minority. The warnings declared these villages off-limits to Christian missionaries and evangelists, citing provisions of a 1996 law. In Acts 4:18, Jesus' disciples faced similar restrictions. “Then [the Sanhedrin] called them in again and commanded [the disciples of Christ] not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.” Senator Cruz: Democratic victories were “an electoral blowout” Appearing on Sean Hannity's Fox TV talk show on Wednesday, the day after the Democrats won the races for governor in Virginia and New Jersey as well as for New York City mayor, Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texas sounded the alarm. CRUZ: “Last night was a disaster. It was an electoral blowout. The results in New Jersey were disastrous. The results in Virginia were terrible. The results in in New York: Comrade [Zohran] Mamdani is the face of the Democrat Party. “We have an actual communist jihadist. And it's important to note, Mamdani is not a socialist. He is a full-on communist. He is called for seizing the means of production in our economy. He is a Marxist. That is profoundly dangerous. “And look, I know there's some Republicans who are saying, ‘Well, gosh, this will be good politically, because they'll be the face of the Democrat Party.' I think it's terrible for America. New York is the largest city in America. It is the financial capital of the world; it's the media capital of the world. This is a lunatic who wants to abolish the police. This is a jihadist who cheers on the radicals and the terrorists who chant ‘Globalize the Intifada.'” Senator Cruz explained that the Democrats are fired up and if Republicans don't wake up, they could lose the Congress in the 2026 mid-term election. CRUZ: “Last night should be a warning sign. It should be a warning sign to Republicans across this country. The left. They're energized. They're angry. Democrats are out raising Republicans right now, 3-1, 4-1. “I think, on our side, the Republicans, and they're just people who are common sense in the middle, who I fear are feeling potentially complacent. That is really, really dangerous. The left showed up in big numbers last night, and common sense conservatives did not if that happens a year from now, we face disaster in the midterms.” Most major US airports are among 40 targeted for shutdown flight cuts Airports in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago are among 40 of the busiest across America where flights will be cut starting Friday due to the government shutdown, reports The Associated Press. The Federal Aviation Administration announced Wednesday it would reduce air traffic by 10% across “high-volume” markets to maintain travel safety as air traffic controllers go unpaid and exhibit signs of strain during the shutdown. The affected airports in more than two dozen states include the busiest ones across the U.S., including Atlanta, Denver, Dallas, Orlando, Miami, and San Francisco. Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi retires at 85 Nancy Pelosi, the first female speaker of the House and one of the most powerful women in modern American politics, will retire from Congress next year, reports Politico.com. The San Francisco liberal Democrat, who announced her decision Thursday, had come under increasing pressure to step aside amid her party's widening generational divide. Now 85, she defied political observers in 2023 when she ran for a 20th congressional term despite Democrats losing the House and her speakership the year before. But next year, she faced a tougher-than-expected group of primary challengers. Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America gave Pelosi a grade of “F” on the life issue. Most recently, she opposed protecting babies who are born alive after an attempted abortion and she supported using taxpayer dollars under the Biden-Harris administration to pay for a female soldier to travel to get an abortion. Pelosi also faced personal struggles in recent years that fueled speculation about her political future. Just before the 2022 midterms, David DePape broke into the Pelosi's San Francisco mansion and attacked Paul Pelosi, her husband, with a hammer. He was sentenced to life in prison. And last year, she underwent hip replacement surgery after suffering an injury while traveling. Singer alleges Gold's Gym terminated membership after complaint about man in women's locker room A Los Angeles-based singer is calling for a boycott of Gold's Gym after claiming her membership was terminated for raising concerns about a man, who was pretending to be a woman, who was allowed in the women's locker room, reports The Christian Post. In a video shared on social media on November 2, Tish Hyman, age 42, was seen confronting a man named Grant Freeman, who goes by the name “Alexis,” wearing earrings and a necklace in the women's locker room of a Gold's Gym location at Beverly Center. Hyman said the gym “had me escorted out by officers afterwards. It was EMBARRASSING! I left but not before making sure everyone KNEW that they were allowing MEN in the [women's] locker room!” In response to Hyman's viral videos, women's advocate and former swimmer Riley Gaines cheered on her protest in a November 3 post. The swimmer wrote, “If we saw boldness like this back in 2020, this insanity would've never been allowed to fester like it has. God bless you for speaking the truth loudly.” Genesis 1:27 says, “God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created Him; male and female He created them.” 1,200-pound polar bear gleefully eats 1,400-pound giant pumpkin And finally, it's not everyday that Henry, the polar bear, sees something that weighs more than he does. At 1,200-pounds, the polar bear was initially defensive when he saw a giant 1,400-pound pumpkin sitting in his enclosure at The Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat in Ontario, Canada, a sanctuary for polar bears in need of human care, reports GoodNewsNetwork.org. Henry eventually dug into the sweet, crunchy flesh of the mammoth yellow pumpkin. The photos will steal a chuckle out of anyone. The polar bear habitat often receive presents for their bears around Polar Bear Awareness Week. One amusing photo shows Henry, the Polar Bear, in something of a food coma after eating about a third of the pumpkin in one sitting. Kevin Green says this morning's headlines about Pres. Trump terminating trade negotiations with Canada was not on his (or most investors) radar. The ad in question was funded by the Canadian province of Ontario and featured former Pres. Ronald Reagan speaking negatively about tariffs, prompting the halt to trade talks. KG weighs whether or not it will be a "blip" on the geopolitical trade talks with China talks looming, but notes that Canada is a big trading partner with the U.S. Later, KG previews the delayed CPI inflation data and then discusses Deckers Outdoor (DECK) earnings. For today's session, he sees the S&P 500 (SPX) upside to an all-time high of $6800, with $6650 to the downside as a volatility crush continues lower. ======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day.Subscribe to the Market Minute newsletter - https://schwabnetwork.com/subscribeDownload the iOS app - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/schwab-network/id1460719185Download the Amazon Fire Tv App - https://www.amazon.com/TD-Ameritrade-Network/dp/B07KRD76C7Watch on Sling - https://watch.sling.com/1/asset/191928615bd8d47686f94682aefaa007/watchWatch on Vizio - https://www.vizio.com/en/watchfreeplus-exploreWatch on DistroTV - https://www.distro.tv/live/schwab-network/Follow us on X – / schwabnetwork Follow us on Facebook – / schwabnetwork Follow us on LinkedIn - / schwab-network About Schwab Network - https://schwabnetwork.com/about
President Donald Trump has ended all trade negotiations with Canada, blaming a $75 million Ontario TV ad that used former President Ronald Reagan's image and voice to criticize tariffs. Trump called the ad “fraudulent,” saying it was meant to sway an upcoming Supreme Court hearing on his tariffs. The Reagan Foundation said the ad “misrepresents” Reagan's words, while Ontario Premier Doug Ford defended it as factual. The Supreme Court will hear arguments on the tariffs on Nov. 5.More than 30 people, including current and former NBA stars, are being charged in a case involving illegal sports betting. Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups and Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier were among those arrested and charged on Thursday. Billups also faces charges in a separate mafia-backed poker-rigging operation involving members of the Italian American mafia. Both Billups and Rozier have been placed on leave by their teams, and the NBA said it's reviewing the indictments.Alaska Airlines said flights are slowly returning to normal after a nationwide tech outage grounded planes on Thursday. The glitch also hit its regional carrier, Horizon Air, prompting a temporary ground stop. Alaska Airlines says delays will continue as it repositions planes and crews.

Topics we cover today: Solar for All Terminated: The Trump administration halts the $7B program, impacting nearly 1M low-income households. Legal challenges are expected. U.S. Solar Growth Slows: Utility-scale solar grew just 10% in mid-2025 vs. mid-2024 — a sharp drop from the 33% growth seen the prior year. Texas (+14%) and Arizona (+24%) surged, while California and Florida lagged. The Big Beautiful Bill: How developers are racing to complete projects before year-end to capture full tax credits. Texas ERCOT Storage Shake-Up: New four-hour non-spinning reserve requirements squeeze battery developers, benefiting gas peakers. In this powerful episode of Nurses Uncorked, Nurse Erica sits down with legendary nurse educator and activist Dr. Laura Gasparis Vonfrolio RN, PhD for an unfiltered conversation about nursing, activism, and legacy. Laura opens up about her turbulent exit from the bedside during the early days of the pandemic, the harsh reality of workplace retaliation, and how she fought back when most nurses felt silenced. She discusses her inspiring education journey from ADN to PhD, the controversy around use of the title "Doctor" as a nurse, and why she refused to teach virtually during COVID. Laura also reflects on the seismic shifts in nursing culture over the last 30 years and the barriers that still prevent nurses from advocating for themselves. We revisit the iconic 1995 nurse march on Washington DC, which Laura organized before the internet era—mobilizing over 35,000 nurses to demand better staffing ratios and workplace protections. In this timely episode of CMDA Matters, Dr. Allan Josephson shares his compelling journey of standing firm in both science and faith. As a distinguished child and adolescent psychiatrist, Dr. Josephson courageously spoke out on the treatment of gender dysphoria, emphasizing evidence-based care rooted in compassion. His truth-telling led to professional backlash, including harassment and wrongful termination. But his stand for academic freedom and patient advocacy resulted in a legal victory and a powerful reminder of the cost – and the calling – of conviction. Join us for an essential conversation about faith, freedom, and advocating for vulnerable patients, especially children, in a challenging cultural climate.

All MSU USAID programs have been cut as the federal government seeks to reshape higher education and cut what it sees as wasteful spending. At MSU, nine direct and five flow-through USAID projects were terminated, amounting to more than $20 million in funding lost. USAID is a government agency that provides international humanitarian assistance. The agency provides an array of programs and aid, some of which is done through grants given to universities for projects that provide help to countries in need. (State News – April 17, 2025).Feed the Global Resource Lead for the Future Biotech Potato Partnership Communications Manager Janet Fierro and professor and director of MSU Potato Breeding and Genetics David Douches join me to discuss the impact of the funding cuts. Douches' Feed the Future Global Biotech Potato Partnership was one of the cancelled USAID programs.Conversation Highlights:(1:08) - Describe your background and role at MSU.(2:53) - What is the mission of USAID? Has President Trump painted a misguided view of USAID?(5:23) - What projects will end due to the termination of funding? What will the impact be as these projects end?(7:45) - This work is consistent with MSU's land grant and world grant mission. Generational progress will stop. The long-term institutional vision of higher education differs from the short-term vision of corporations. Higher education is the place for this work. Decades of taxpayer money will be wasted. Investment becomes waste.(11:39) - This work is not about building up foreign competition. America first is not America only. Everything is global. “You can't build a peaceful world on empty stomachs and human misery.”(13:53) - What's next? Is there any hope of having the funding restored? What would you like listeners of this conversation to know and take away? And how can they help?(16:13) – More on advances in potato research using biotechnology.(21:27) – Michigan is a national leader in bean production and the number one state in the country for producing potatoes used to make potato chips. MSU research performed passionately around the world helps make American agriculture better too. And MSU has an outstanding reputation around the world.Listen to “MSU Today with Russ White” on the radio and through Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and wherever you get your shows.
Amid the flurry of executive orders President Trump signed on his first day in office was one that called for a 90-day pause and review of all foreign assistance programs. Three months later, that has resulted in the cancellation of thousands of contracts and grants distributed through the U.S. Agency for International Development, and the gutting of the agency’s workforce. Portland-based Mercy Corps is one of the many organizations that USAID had awarded grants to for the delivery of humanitarian assistance around the world. Mercy Corps says 40 of its 62 programs that were funded through those grants have now been terminated, from a project that would have provided clean drinking water to 12,000 villagers in Afghanistan to health centers in Nigeria that provided lifesaving food and nutrition services to tens of thousands of young children and pregnant women at risk of starvation and malnutrition. Mary Stata is the chief development officer of Mercy Corps. She joins us to share the scope and human toll of the terminated programs and the future of international humanitarian aid without U.S. government support.
