John 9 records Jesus' healing of a man who was born blind. In this account, the disciples, the Pharisees, and the man healed of blindness teach us about suffering, spiritual sight, and worship. Pastor Jordan Kologe's sermon reveals truths we can learn from the people in this scene.
We are old, cracked musical instruments capable of nothing beautiful on our own, but when you place us in the hands of Jesus, what beautiful music for the Master we can make!
Keep leaning on the grace of God on your best days and on your worst days.
God is looking for peacemakers to plant a harvest of righteousness that'll change this world forever. When peace prevails, all that is right is given room to grow. Be a peacemaker today!

Embrace What Matters: With Author and Speaker, John Michalak
Part 5 of 23 in the extended series "Belonging to Him," which takes an in-depth look at the Gospel through the lens of personal relationship. There exists in the human condition—from the heart of both believers and non-believers—something called "The Problem of Evil." We ask the question: 'How could a loving God allow so much evil and suffering?' And from a relational standpoint we might ask this: 'How could I love a God like that?' Drawing from one of the most emotionally-stirring accounts in Jesus' life, this sermon seeks to answer that question (sermon recorded in 2018).

The story of the prodigal son is one of the best-known stories in the Bible. We all can relate to it in one way or another because we have all experienced at one time: Rebellion Fallenness Repentance Forgiveness & Rejoicing And while we see this as the story about the wayward son, ultimately, this is a story the Father’s love for the lost. Please listen to this message and hear your Heavenly Father calling you to come home.

Fallenness, Favour, and FaithfulLee Hinkle Esther 2:2-18 2 Then the king's young men who attended him said, “Let beautiful young virgins be sought out for the king. 3 And let the king appoint officers in all the provinces of his kingdom to gather all the beautiful young virgins to the harem in Susa the citadel, under custody of Hegai, the king's eunuch, who is in charge of the women. Let their cosmetics be given them. 4 And let the young woman who pleases the king be queen instead of Vashti.” This pleased the king, and he did so. 5 Now there was a Jew in Susa the citadel whose name was Mordecai, the son of Jair, son of Shimei, son of Kish, a Benjaminite, 6 who had been carried away from Jerusalem among the captives carried away with Jeconiah king of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had carried away. 7 He was bringing up Hadassah, that is Esther, the daughter of his uncle, for she had neither father nor mother. The young woman had a beautiful figure and was lovely to look at, and when her father and her mother died, Mordecai took her as his own daughter. 8 So when the king's order and his edict were proclaimed, and when many young women were gathered in Susa the citadel in custody of Hegai, Esther also was taken into the king's palace and put in custody of Hegai, who had charge of the women. 9 And the young woman pleased him and won his favor. And he quickly provided her with her cosmetics and her portion of food, and with seven chosen young women from the king's palace, and advanced her and her young women to the best place in the harem. 10 Esther had not made known her people or kindred, for Mordecai had commanded her not to make it known. 11 And every day Mordecai walked in front of the court of the harem to learn how Esther was and what was happening to her. 12 Now when the turn came for each young woman to go in to King Ahasuerus, after being twelve months under the regulations for the women, since this was the regular period of their beautifying, six months with oil of myrrh and six months with spices and ointments for women—13 when the young woman went in to the king in this way, she was given whatever she desired to take with her from the harem to the king's palace. 14 In the evening she would go in, and in the morning she would return to the second harem in custody of Shaashgaz, the king's eunuch, who was in charge of the concubines. She would not go in to the king again, unless the king delighted in her and she was summoned by name. 15 When the turn came for Esther the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her as his own daughter, to go in to the king, she asked for nothing except what Hegai the king's eunuch, who had charge of the women, advised. Now Esther was winning favor in the eyes of all who saw her. 16 And when Esther was taken to King Ahasuerus, into his royal palace, in the tenth month, which is the month of Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign, 17 the king loved Esther more than all the women, and she won grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins, so that he set the royal crown on her head and made her queen instead of Vashti. 18 Then the king gave a great feast for all his officials and servants; it was Esther's feast. He also granted a remission of taxes to the provinces and gave gifts with royal generosity. This is episode 13 of the Logos Institute Podcast, the official podcast of the Logos Institute for Analytic and Exegetical Theology. In this final installment of a three-part interview, we (Stephanie Nicole Nordby & Jonathan Rutledge) dialogue with Professors Oliver D. Crisp & Michael C. Rea about original sin, the fall, and the future of analytic theology. Here are a few time stamps to help you navigate: 1:28 - What is Original Sin? 3:33 - How does Original Sin relate to the Fallenness of Humanity? 4:25 - Should we connect a doctrine of Original Sin with a particular view of the historical Adam & Eve? 7:47 - If Christ is fully human and human nature is fallen, should we affirm that Christ assumed a fallen human nature? 13:12 - Are we to blame for the corruption of our nature consequent on the fall? 17:11 - Why not say that the divine person in the assumption of a corrupted nature heals it? 22:44 - Are there any implications for this sort of account of Christ's human nature for contemporary Pauline theology concerning union with Christ? 23:21 - What thoughts do you have on the future of analytic theology? Man can only pass the see which he possesses, and so he passes on through his line that of death, and it spreads to all of us.
It's devastatingly true that, despite our human condition of sin, so few humans have even heard of it; and, if they do, they're quick to dismiss it as "a religious crutch for the ignorant who lack the mental capacity to come to grips with the harsh reality of evolution." However, the apostle Paul was clear in Romans 6 that every human on the planet is born a slave to sin, serving master satan, without God, without hope in this world. That is unless the Light of the World breaks in and sets the captive free! So how does satan rule this world? Where did he get such authority? And what do we make of the fact that, rather than feeling enslaved or dominated by an evil master, so many feel right at home under his government, fat and happy, with a remote in each hand. Answers to these and so many other questions are provided for us in this third of five Gospel Doctrines, as we look into many passages in God's Word, with special emphasis in Ephesians 2.1-3.
Bound and finite we are helpless in this puddle of muck without a savior…
