A quick skim of the internet around the history of the parties involved with the Panthers (yeah, I'm like an antivaxxer – I did my own research) points to clumsy management and financial chaos. More red flags than a wealthy, good looking hit on Tinder. Sal's NBL, NZ Basketball, whoever holds ultimate responsibility for this circus needs to stand up and tell us who opened the door and let these 20 clowns jammed into a tiny car in. They can finger point and obfuscate all they want. The Indian Panthers management are a fast talking, blame laying excuse factory, but if they weren't in the league, this wouldn't have happened. Today, we talk about the power of humility in frontline leadership.   When done appropriately, showing our humanness can be powerful in building trust and respect within our teams. Many leaders see admitting mistakes or being wrong as a sign of weakness. But in truth, sincere admission of mistakes coupled with a genuine intention to do better in the future is a profound strength.   Of course, if you keep making the same mistakes without changing, you will lose any trust you might have initially gained. Conversely, never owning up to your mistakes will almost certainly erode trust, respect, and confidence. As leaders, we must model the behavior we want to see in our teams.
