This week on the show, Maine and Cory preview the 2025 IBJJF Worlds, and UFC Fight Pass invitational 11 headlined by Ffion Davies vs Adele Fornarino 2. On today's episode of Say It How It Is, Ffion and Gwen are joined by The Oddballs Foundation Manager, Kieran Kelly and 19 year old testicular cancer survivor, Jamie Young. Oddballs was founded back in 2014, and uses wild, wacky and wonderful underwear prints as a way of creating conversation and awareness around testicular Cancer. Shortly after in 2015, The Oddballs Foundation was set up to act as the main charity affiliate to the brand and continue to spread awareness and tackle the stigma- delivering workshops and talks, with their now 50 university ambassadors across the UK. Jamie is the incoming Oddballs Foundation University Ambassador for Reading University. In 2019 at the age of just 14, Jamie was diagnosed with testicular cancer after experiencing hip pain and going to get it checked out.This was just the beginning of his journey. The cancer has unfortunately spread to both his pelvis and lung, which required multiple rounds of chemotherapy and major operations. Following his recovery, Jamie is now keen to share his experiences with as many people as he can, raise awareness and contribute to breaking down barriers in talking around the topic. Ffion is an avid open water swimmer, swimming all year round and is a Mental Health Swims host at Northdock, Llanelli.   From dipping with the Dawn Stalkers at sunrise to swimming 5K in the Cotswold Big Swim in June just gone, Ffi showcases the most beautiful dipping spots across the UK and beyond.   In this episode we talk about what being in the water means to Ffi and how it has allowed her more freedom and body confidence. We touch on the community she has built through her swimming Instagram account and how far she has come since her first rocky sea swim. There are also some top tips for anyone thinking about taking up cold water swimming later this year. Dr Ffion Thompson is a post-doctoral researcher in youth athletic development at Leeds Beckett University in the UK, where she is module lead on the science of sport performance course, as well as a leader within the Centre of Child and Adolescent Physical Literacy. Ffion also serves as Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Queen Ethelburga's School, Pathway Strength and Conditioning Coach at Leeds Rhinos Netball, and Women's Head of Athletic and Physical Development at Wales Lacrosse. Ffion's focus lies in holistic and dual career development, aiming to enhance experiences and opportunities for children and adolescents. Plus Craig Jones Vs Luke Rockhold announcement In the recap of WNO 19 we talk about and recap each match on the card.in Nicholas Meregali vs Kaynan Duarte  we break down the takedown sequence that lead to the mounted Arm-triangle ad put Meregali firmly in the second spot in No-Gi rankings.In Ffion Davies vs Jasmine Rocha we talk about some of the pre fight talk and press conference and hype surrounding the match, then the dominating decision Ffion was able to pull off for the flyweight title.In the barn burner match between Dante Leon vs Ethan Crelinsten we talked about the passing and entries that took place in the match and Dante Arm in  Rear-naked Choke that secured him the lightweight championship. In Felipe Pena vs Haisam Rida we talked about the level of activity in the match and how Hasim dealt with Pena guard,  then we discussed the Rear-naked Choke and hand fight that Pena finished the match with. In Nicky Ryan vs Rene Sousa we talked about the 13 minutes of back control time that Nicky had and the commanding decision he took in the match. We discuss the very fast Rear Naked Choke that Andrew Tackett submitted Troy Russell with to open up the main card. As part of the Preliminary Card we discussed Oliver Taza vs Sebastian Rodriguez where Taza took a somewhat controversial Unanimous decision. We discuss the guard and pacing of Carlos Henrique vs Ben Eddy  and Carlos decision over Eddy.In our discussion of hot prospect Helena Crevar vs Healy Dayan  we broke down the fastest submission of the card that saw Crevar win via Heel Hook in just over 1 minute. To open the card we discussed Achilles Rocha vs JB Bechtloff that saw Rocha  Toehold JB in just over 4 minutes. In the preview section we discuss AIGA this coming week. Recorded 8-14-2023

In a bonus episode of the pod, Alex and Tinds visit Aberdare Rugby Club, where they're joined by Wales and Lions prop Wyn Jones, Wales Women's scrum-half Ffion Lewis and former Wales international – and current strength and conditioning coach – Huw Bennett.
