Range of gender identities that are not exclusively masculine or feminine
It sounds like an easy question. But when you ask people on the street, they have a surprisingly difficult time talking about it. So — how much of that has to do with (rapidly) changing social norms, and how much is based on solid scientific research?
YA'LL. IT'S OUR 50TH EPISODE, BABEEEEE! And today's guest is truly ICONIC... As CEO of Dame Products, Alexandra Fine translates the nuances of our sexualities into human-friendly toys for sex. A lifelong student of sexual health, Fine earned her Masters in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in sex therapy from Columbia University. Realizing that her skills would be best put to use making concrete improvements to people's lives, Fine began developing her own vibrators at home and asking friends to give her their feedback. She was gaining startup experience with an organic shampoo company and decided the time was right to put her passions and her business acumen to use in the world of sex toys. Over the past six years, Alexandra has led Dame's team to sell over 150K products in retailers all over the world. Perhaps more importantly, she's translated her role as CEO into one of a dedicated activist for women's health, gender equity, and prioritizing pleasure, leading efforts to uncover sexism in the industry at every turn. We talked to Alex for 2 hours straight - it was one of those conversations that just flowed and dipped and flipped with ease. We talk about her personal experience as a human who identifies as a Non-binary woman, motherhood, running a multi-million dollar sex toy empire, relationship fluidity, what we're all looking for in our dream #momsquad, and so much more. We split this convo up into 2 parts for easier digestion. Be sure you listen to both and don't miss our podcast post-mortem at the end of part 2. Grant Frailich is the Founder of The Pride Tree,a nonprofit focused on supporting LGBTQ+ youth and allies. Club Pride Tree provides Las Vegas youth with identity-based afterschool programming. At Club Pride Tree, we discuss topics such as navigating the coming out process, LGBTQ+ history, LGBTQ+ representation in pop culture, and how to be an ally. Our programming is inclusive for individuals of all gender identities and sexualities. Our programming is also accessible as we offer it directly to participants, on site, at schools. Pride Tree Mentoring pairs middle and high school students with college students and young professionals. For example, we offer a "pre-law" mentoring cohort in which middle and high school students interested in becoming lawyers are paired with a pre-law student and working lawyer to better understand the academic career path necessary to obtain a career within law. Camp Pride Tree provides LGBTQ+ youth and allies with all the benefits of a traditional summer camp experience without the typical gender norms which accompany summer camp! Camp Pride Tree builds self-esteem, leadership skills, a sense of community, confidence, self-reliance, the opportunity to meet lifelong friends, escape the pressures of school for a while and a chance to be a kid! |ShowSponsor|"YOUR BALLS WITH THANK YOU"Use Promo Code "TheGuestList" to receive 20% OFF AND FREE SHIPPING upon checkout.https://www.manscaped.com/|GrantFrailich|-ThePrideTreeLV.com-Grant Frailich|JakeGallen|-Instagram-Twitter-Facebook-Linkedin|TimeStamps|0:00 - Introduction1:53 - Who is Grant Frailich & what is The Pride Tree?7:31 - After School Programming10:30 - Pride Tree Board Members 12:20 - Reason Behind The Pride Tree16:33 - LGBTQ Las Vegas 19:30 - Scaling 24:21 - City Partnerships 28:26 - Manscaped Promo32:42 - Pronouns, Gender Fluidity, Dead-naming 38:00 - Ben Shapiro's Pronoun Debate48:30 - Double Standards 51:30 - The "Coming Out" Process 55:00 - Right's Movements 58:00 - Upcoming Events 59:35 - What does Las Vegas mean to you? |LISTEN and SUBSCRIBE to the platform of your choice|-Apple Podcasts-Spotify-Google Podcasts-Amazon Podcasts-Youtube (VIDEO RECORDINGS)
In the United States, the movement to embrace non-binary people for who they are has received a lot of traction. Our listeners may be surprised to learn that the issue of non-binary people was a question the earliest Rabbis also grappled with. Not in the "gender identity" sense that we read about today, but it was true for the place in society of intersex people.
Listen to Deanna Ansara explain to Heather why our modern relationship with fashion must be disrupted.

We do “adult” differently. We are That Black Couple. Our goal is to create a space for Black millennials to discuss and embody adult life on their own terms. We aren’t beholden to “traditional” gender or parenting roles, queerness is fluid and present in the ways we show up in our relationships and in the world, and we want to build community with other 30-something Black folx who are trying to figure this ish out.
It's ok to question your gender. Ali joins the pod to talk about gender fluidity, questioning gender, labels, queer identity, what it means to be a woman, and much more. @alimackellar @ipwomanpodcast

Eve Eurydice speaks with Farah C Yamini & Rosen T Gordon, non-binary queer Miami-based poets, activists, scholars. Farah is programming director of Reading Queer & mentors the SoFla Protest Poets. Rosen is the administrator of the Rainbow Rights PAC, member of SoFla Protest Poets & performs slam poetry centering zhir identities. Naming has long been a normative tool of the patriarchy. Gender claiming is a creative human act: we get to create who we are in the world & how we are described. Our orientation, our attraction, our sexuality. We get to redefine it as we evolve. We don’t have to embody static identities. There are so many different forms of attraction. We can clarify our desires for the sake of honest communication & at the same time participate in the creation & use of the language. Linguistic intimacy, linguistic respect & specificity are a daily means of social intervention & resistance to the dominant propaganda. Rosen T. Gordon (zhe, zhir, zhirs) utilizes the intersectionality framework coined by Kimberlé Williams Crenshaw in zhir fight for the rights of LGBTQIA+ POC marginalized communities & fights for social justice. Rosen guides us into the practice of renaming & specifying our gender identity, understanding how & why. Masculinity. That word has gone on a roller coaster over the past few decades, from being something relegated 100% to men in the 70s to something that women were accused of being too much of in the 80’s to today’s gender fluid millennial mishmash. Hence, the Pussy Posse is here in the studio with a group of absolutely stellar men (including Lindsey’s Dad!!!, Malekai, Jeremy, and one of our favorite couples Nick and Pierre) to discuss their personal take on masculinity— the good, the bad, and the buff. This is one of the best episodes of Clit Talk EVER, so dive in and get woke.

We learn about their experience of twin to twin transfer syndrome in their second pregnancy, which resulted in the passing of baby Aurora and the 24 week, 1 lb. birth of baby Nova. In their third birth, Ash had a magical home birth for baby Sol. We also talk about non-binary parenting and gender as a spectrum.
