This week! Prepare yourself for the dark, heart-wrenching tale of the podcast that got away! It's a trying tale to say the least, but it's one that at least sheds some light on our [most] recent absence. We watched a cartoon called Costume Quest that gave us all the cartoony feels. Tim thinks we may finally have a no-contest "best video game movie ever" with Detective Pikachu, and we have some strategies in place for attacking our hundreds and hundreds of backlogged video games that we recently actually composed lists of. (It's a lot to deal with.) We also discuss The Gifted Season 2, Ash vs. Evil Dead Season 3, The Haunting of Hill House, Attack on Titan Season 3 (Part 2), Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Power Rangers, and more! 00:16:21 — TV! In this episode, we take a look back at the recently completed second season of FOX's THE GIFTED. How did the second year stack up against the "better than you would think but still not GREAT" first season? Which characters were improved, and which lost some luster? Was this year's storyline more compelling? What did we think of the live-action depiction of the Morlocks? Most importantly, is the show still a worthwhile watch for X-Men fans? We answer all of these questions, and more. Also, we briefly discuss the just announced return of Peter Milligan and Michael Allred's "X-Statix," and share our thoughts on the STAR WARS EPISODE IX: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER trailer. Plus...ESPN? NOTE: This episode was recorded before news of THE GIFTED's cancellation...so when we speculate on the possibility of a third season, feel free to roll your eyes in annoyance. facebook.com/daysoffuturepodcast Twitter & Instagram: @dofpodcast
It's finally here. Our discussion for the final three episodes of The Gifted season 2. We talk about how the season wrapped up, how the uncertainty of a season 3 might have changed some of the final story points and why we hope there is a season 3. While Reeva didn't get the full development we want, it feels as if the rest of the main cast did. Reed and his sacrifice really worked for us as a complete arc. Also...when you're the only member of your family without super powers, packing heat is a necessity as Caitlin proves. Listen and let us know what you thought about season 2 and if you would like to see a season 3. Like what you hear? Subscribe so you don't miss an episode! We're finally back to review the last 4 episodes of season 2 of The Gifted (episodes 10 - 13) and...we're out of pocket almost immediately into the episode. Dpalm takes a moment to gloat about how unredeemable and evil Jace Turner (aka Evil Ass Cory Booker) is. Jace is so evil even Kriss' Villain Agenda has denounced him. And the episode goes downhill from there: The optics and way this show handled Jace & race was perfect Andy's dick is still not his friend Lauren getting drawn to the dark side and Kate is NOT helping Lorna's crazy ass is really bad at being undercover Erg aka Not-Bishop puts John in his place then steals his girl Reeva hires terrorist mutants and his working with not-Bill O'Reilly...what is her plan? PAX: A younger male in his 20s, who is a dangerous mercenary like Jaco but has a humorous streak to him. BUTTERFLY: A female in her 20s, described as unpredictable, aloof, spacey, but nonetheless lethal. Like Jaco and Pax, Butterfly is slated to be a recurring guest star throughout the season. PROFESSOR L: a brilliant teacher in his 60s who has a positive outlook on humanity but at the same time is disgruntled, bitter, and a mess of a person outside. The first season of Fox's THE GIFTED is now in the books, which means it's time for us to take a look at the full first season. What did we think of this television take on the world of the X-Men? What worked? What didn't? Who were our favorite characters? And are we excited for the already announced second season? We answer it all, in a comprehensive discussion of the X-Men show that isn't LEGION. But first, we ponder if the MULTIPLE MAN movie will still happen in the wake of James Franco's #TimesUp controversy, speculate on whether DEADPOOL director Tim Miller will really end up making a KITTY PRYDE movie, and try to figure out the meaning behind the recently announced release date shake-up of Fox's upcoming X-films...including a brand new episode of our podcast-within-a-podcast, "Chatting Tatum," where we also discuss GAMBIT losing ANOTHER director. All this, and more. Contact Days of Future Podcast at: facebook.com/daysoffuturepodcast daysoffuturepodcast@gmail.com Twitter: @dofpodcast

Most people celebrate the holiday season with friends and family, but the Lobster team decided to shut themselves inside and watch all of The Gifted just for you.The Gifted Season 1
Taking place in the middle of the Fox X-Men universe, The Gifted is a 13 episode season that explores the adventures of a family as they are thrust into the battle between humans and mutant-kind. When a brother and sister publicly display their mutant abilities by accident in high school they are immediately put on the run alongside their parents from the evil Sentinel Services, who are tasked to capture and contain dangerous mutants. The family eventually joins up with the Mutant Underground, a group of powerful mutants who are the fantasy version of the Underground Railroad from times of slavery in the United States. The show works on a "fetch quest" of the week premise and finds the family and the Mutant Underground heading from one position to another to garner some new knowledge or pick up some item to ease they lives on the run. With some cameos by mutants from a deep cut in Marvel's X-Men comic lore and a decent side story about the Mutant Underground members, the show rises to the level of mediocre TV but flounders just about everywhere else. This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/5939723/advertisement
