Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universes. Our favorite Middle Earth wizard may be returning to the big screen. Sir Ian McKellan revealed in an interview with The Big Issue that he has been approached about returning as Gandalf in future Lord of the Rings films, with Andy Serkis' Hunt for Gollum the most immediate movie being made. However, any filming McKellan will do will have to wait until 2025 as the 85-year-old actor is spending the rest of 2024 recovering from a fall he experienced while performing in a stage play. We finally have a title for the Jurassic project that has been the subject of much discussion on this show and it's Jurassic World Rebirth - expected to hit theaters July 2, 2025. Universal Pictures announced the title and release date of this next entry to the franchise along with some stills from the film featuring Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali, who are starring. Jurassic World Rebirth will take place five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, where moviegoers were treated to the original cast from Jurassic Park reuniting. But now…dinosaurs may not be the apex predators, but hold the key to life itself according to plot details. This comes to us from the rumor mill, but insider Jeff Sneider might have scooped that Josh Brolin will be portraying Hal Jordan in the upcoming Lanterns DCU tv series. The series is said to focus on Green Lantern characters John Stewart, played by Aldis Hodge, and Hal Jordan. The two characters will investigate a murder on Earth with John Stewart playing the newbie to Hal Jordan's experienced Lantern.

A conversation with Claudia Hodgson, a Stage Manager turned Online Fitness Coach for backstage theatre professionals.  Her TheatreFit program has helped backstage theatre professionals increase their energy, get fitter and drop unwanted body fat in a sustainable way to ensure it doesn't interfere (negatively) with their career.   Topics: ⭐️ Finding exercises you enjoy ⭐️ Best time of day for working out ⭐️ Importance of eating 10g of fiber ⭐️ Health challenges for offstage workers ⭐️ How long it takes to establish a health routine ⭐️ Working out twice a week is better than not working out   What we don't talk about is mental health. While the physical fitness is what we focus on today, it isn't a wholesome solution unless it is paired with mental health.   According to the World Health Organization, good mental health is when you can: ⭐️ Work productively ⭐️ Realize your potential ⭐️ Contribute to the community ⭐️ Cope with normal stresses of life   Physical fitness and a healthy diet can complement a balanced life. But the mental health has to be in good shape for a sustained healthy lifestyle.   Claudia on Instagram @claudia.theatrefit: https://www.instagram.com/claudia.theatrefit/   Claudia on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/coachedbyclaudia/   7 Habits of Highly Effective People - Audiobook - by Stephen Covey: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2RrK8jR8MM&ab_channel=AudioBookBuzz   What is Good Mental Health? https://www.healthdirect.gov.au/good-mental-health#:~:text=Good%20mental%20health%20is%20more,work%20productively   Steven Bartlett - Audiobook - Sexy Happy Millionaire: https://www.audible.com/pd/Happy-Sexy-Millionaire-Audiobook/1529305101   Diary of a CEO: https://www.youtube.com/c/TheDiaryOfACEO?app=desktop   Mother Goose - Panto with Sir Ian McKellan: https://mothergooseshow.co.uk/   Richard Winkler - Lighting Designer & Producer: https://www.broadwayworld.com/people/Richard-Winkler/     Become a patron at: www.patreon.com/artisticfinance   Interview by Ethan Steimel

EPISODE 78: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:45) SPECIAL COMMENT: 12 Republicans join the Democrats to give the codification of Marriage Equality a filibuster-proof majority. The Respect for Marriage Act will be law by Christmas (2:37) It seems so obvious; it is in fact breathtaking. 14 years ago a Democratic candidate could be elected POTUS without endorsing same-sex marriage. 26 years ago a Democratic president could sign legislation defining marriage as only between a man and a woman (4:02) And 14 years and exactly one week ago, I could startle viewers, my bosses, and some liberals by decrying the passage of Prop 8 in California - which TOOK AWAY Marriage Equality awarded by the courts - in a Special Comment called "A Question of Love" (12:15) This is how far we have come: Two months later I was approached by Sir Ian McKellan who said that the fact that I was able to incorporate those opinions into an American cable newscast meant "some of my hope for the future is restored." Today, with the path to codified Marriage Equality assured, some of MY hope for the future is restored. B-Block (17:48) EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY: Penny, in Missouri (18:50) POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: Mike Pence defies Congress (and logic), now it's Stu Varney trashing Trump (to Trump's daughter-in-law), and a Democrat beats a Faux Democrat in LA (20:22) IN SPORTS: Two unanimous Cy Young Winners for the first time since Bob Gibson's 1.12 ERA and Denny McLain's 31 wins, Virginia cancels its football game, Kyrie coming back - but why? (23:11) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Laura Ingraham continuing to try to make the fabricated Pelosi Conspiracy Theory happen and Chris Licht drowning at CNN, compete with the executives of MSNBC, NBC News, and NBC. After getting fricasseed for firing Tiffany Cross to appease fascists like Tucker Carlson, they knew what to do: Trash her anonymously in The New York Post. C-Block (32:21) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: 30 years ago today, the Colorado Rockies and then-Florida Marlins were born in the baseball expansion draft which I anchored on ESPN. The draft followed one of the weirdest you're-gonna-die-on-THAT-hill things I ever witnessed in sports broadcasting. But most importantly: I can now confess that to get the scoop as to who would be the first pick, I did a terrible, terrible thing ;-)See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Not only do we have Peter and Connor from Fix-a-Flick joining us, but we welcome Patrick H. Willems to the podcast along with Mike Ludwig recording all the way from the UK. The year is....sometime in the 1940s we think? The Shadow plagues New York's criminal element. The descendent of Genghis Khan rumors amok across the world. Alec Baldwin chews more scenery than a Hungry Hungry Hippo. Oh, did we mention Tim Curry and Sir Ian McKellan are also in this movie? That's real. Yes, this movie happened. That, plus a fantastic Jerry Goldsmith score brings us...The Shadow! A magnificent failure and what happens if you put Batman and Dr. Strange in a discontinued blender. Enjoy!

It's bonkers-bad, sure. It's basically kitty version of Logan's Run, sure. It's got a cat-orgy scene, sure. It looks like crap, sure. But what the heck is the difference between this and the stage play? What did you people think was gonna happen here? Also Tay-Tay blows ass here. Guys, it's just Cats. The stage play IS this bad. It's all crap. If you hate the movie and love the play, then put your head in a microwave if you can pull it out of your own ass. What did you want here? In fact, you should LOVE the movie because it's even MORE of the crap that you love from the play. Get the hell out of here. Now for the rest of us, that weren't dropped as a baby. This is some real terrible film-making and likely an intentional tax loss. There's no way anyone that has ever worked a day before in the industry believed in this turd. That's not to say no one did a good job here. Francesa Hayward is absolutely brilliant but is strapped down (maybe in more ways than one) and surrounded by ineptitude so it's hard to notice what she's doing. You may also be distracted by her cat butt. There I said it. I'll take the bullet here. Cats is intentionally hot sexy business. If it wasn't then why the hell are they marching a bunch of naked crotches out? Why is there a cat orgy? Why is Sir Ian Mckellan wearing clothes but Idris Elba is not? Same for Dame Judi and not Tay-Tay? This is hot furies business and I promise you someone is going to jail after being caught in the theater with a little too much alone time. At the end of it all, should you check it out? Yes - but wait for streaming. It can be a great theater experience - it was for 2 of us but the last person had such a miserable time that it's just too risky for you. Save it and wait until it's free for you to access.

What do you do when some a**holes steal your money? Go after them of course! We watched the 1993 Leprechaun, another “so bad it’s good” horror movie. While the hero of our story, Leprechaun (Lep, for short) is dealing with a shoe compulsion, he manages to remain a master actor and a true thespian, clearly trained with the likes of Sir Ian McKellan. His commitment to his roles is truly astounding, rivaling even that of the great Charlton Heston. Alas, the only thing this film was missing was the "To be, or not to be" soliloquy from Billy Shakespeare’s Hamlet. 1993 - Starring Jennifer Aniston, Warwick Davis, Ken Olandt.
