Yo Gabba Gabba has always had a special place in my heart. I watched the series with my sister and fell in love with Brobee, the green monster. The show featured many musicians I loved while still being whimsical and fun. It also introduced me to one of my favorite bands, The Aquabats. So getting the chance to interview the co-creators of the original and the new series, Yo Gabba Gabbaland, was an honor. I spoke with them about their philosophy for creating children's entertainment, what guides their musical guests, and the staying power of monsters. The show's second season premieres on January 30th on Apple TV, and the first season is streaming now! Be sure to check it out after listening to or watching our interview! ABOUT "YO GABBA GABBALAND!" SEASON TWO: Inspired by the original "Yo Gabba Gabba!," the vibrant new ten-episode season is led by rising star Kamryn Smith as Kammy Kam and features the original performers: Brobee (Amos Watene), Foofa (Emma Penrose), Muno (Adam Deibert), Toodee (Erin Pearce) and Plex (Christian Jacobs). Season two brings this group together with a new roster of musical guests to create dynamic performances and original songs to help kids and families uncover life lessons through music, movement and joyful discovery. Created by Emmy Award-nominated Scott Schultz and Christian Jacobs (co-creators of "Yo Gabba Gabba!"), "Yo Gabba GabbaLand" is produced in partnership and collaboration with WildBrain and Yo Gabba Gabba, LLC, co-owners of the brand. Schultz and Jacobs also serve as executive producers for Yo Gabba Gabba LLC, alongside Stephanie Betts and Josh Scherba for WildBrain. Season one of "Yo Gabba GabbaLand!" was recently nominated for a 2026 Children's & Family Emmy Award. The 'Super Music Friends' and special guests feature an all-star mix of acclaimed and Grammy winning artists including Santigold, Ziggy Marley, Sharon Van Etten, Sleigh Bells, Yola, Still Woozy, Silversun Pickups, Chicano Batman, The Aquabats! and Hemlocke Springs. Viewers will also hear fresh jingles from Freedom Fry, Turnpike Troubadours, Ginger Root, CHVRCHES, King Tuff, Mates of State, Hatchie, Sylvan Esso and Chai. In addition, the new season features returning fan favorites and new guest stars including Billy Eichner ("Bros"), Tiffany Haddish ("Girls Trip"), David Arquette ("Scream"), Brendan Hunt ("Ted Lasso"), Jaime Camil ("Jane the Virgin") and more.
My next short, “The Dinner” has approved for crowdfunding at Seed&Spark! Check out the link here to learn how you can be a part of the film. Since I'm building my podcast studio, I've decided to unearth some old interviews and release them unedited. The Chiodo Bro's were interviewed on June 23, 2020 and it truly was a lot of fun. Like a lot of people in their 40's and older, I grew up watching “Klowns,” “Ernest Scared Stupid” and “Critters,” so this was like interviewing my childhood icons. The brothers talk in-depth about the history of the Klowns, and where all their inspirations come from. I had a lot of technical difficulties recording this episode, so I had to hack out the first 10 mins, but eventually it all worked out. At the time, there was no talk about a “KIller Klowns” reboot or sequel. So some of the information which is stated has changed. If you're not doing so already, please like and follow Classic American Movies on Instagram and Facebook. I do free movie giveaways, mini movie reviews and more! Also, I decided to dabble in making my own slasher film called “Bishop's Day”. Check out the Instagram page for updates. SoCal musical polymath Cameron Lew has an alluring way of pulling you inside his work as Ginger Root. His homespun sound, informed by his Asian-American roots, also leans into his love of music from the ‘70s and ‘80s: from Japanese and French pop, to Philly soul. The title of his third album SHINBANGUMI translates from Japanese to ‘a new season of a show,’ and it features a very appropriate track for today — “Better Than Monday.”

Originally recorded November 11, 2023. That's right it's time for another birthday episode! Paul, who joined the Rock of Ages family this year, picked two EPs as his first birthday album because they could easily be combined as one full-length album. As broadcast June 28, 2022 with plenty of legends on stage for a lifetime. Tonight we open paying tribute to Paul McCartney's absolutely incredible performance at Glastonbury over the weekend, which saw the newly minted octogenarian smash the headliner's stage with a three hour performance for the ages. After the headliner, we dig deep with our indie & underground presentation for the week, as Kat Bass joins us and shares all her favorite truffles. Big new albums out from Soccer Mommy and Regina Spektor start things, then it's new joints from Ginger Root, Divino Nino, Alex G, and many more to make the two hours breezy but deep in quality.#feelthegravityTracklisting:Part I (00:00)Wings – Arrow Through MeSoccer Mommy – Feel It All The TimeRegina Spektor – One Man's PrayerKALI – FlemDivino Niño – Tu TontoHOMESHAKE - SesamePart II (34:09)Tape Tension - Fossils Ginger Root - Loneliness Sleepy Soul - Summers With You Djo - Change BILBAO - Mojito lovelytheband - Sail Away Stella Donnelly – Flood Part III (63:57)THICK - Loser Alex G - Runner Rubblebucket - Morning In The Sun Rebounder - Boy Friday Triathalon - Dreams whaledontsleep ft. haruno - caramel Monster Rally – Grassy Crystals Part IV (94:00)Ultracrush - Away Game Boyhood - Stroke ItDrauve - Pictures The Mary Onettes - What I Feel In Some Places Mina Okabe - Waiting Is A Waste Haepa - Safe Haven Dallas Tamaira – Just Fine
