Limerick-based electronic duo 40hurtz and rapper Hazey Haze are gearing up to release one of the year's most anticipated projects, a Berghain-inspired record, this Thursday. Known for their experimental approach, the collaboration fuses the bass-heavy energy of Limerick's dubstep and grime scenes with the industrial, techno-infused sounds of Berlin's Berghain. Inspired by a surprise booking at Berlin's legendary Berghain, 40hurtz and rapper Hazey Haze dove into the studio to create a fresh batch of tracks, gearing up for their performance at the CTM Festival in February 2024. The result is an album that fuses 40hurtz's hard-edged, groove-laced UK-influenced production with Hazey Haze's gritty, hard-hitting lyricism. 40hurtz, known for his innovative and uncompromising production, has crafted a collection of tracks that push boundaries, delving into the darker, more atmospheric side of electronic music while preserving a distinctly Irish edge. Teaming up with Hazey Haze added the final touch, infusing the project with sharp, witty lyricism and a vernacular rooted in Irish culture. Together, they deliver a sound that is both bold and unmistakably tied to the Emerald Isle. 40hurtz said “A product of a crazy gig booking, and not wanting to bring old music to Berghain. Myself and Haze Locked ourselves away for a month and a half and crafted some songs worthy of the legendary venue. For this episode we were joined by Mr FullyPaid (FP),  Co-Founder of streetwear brand FullyPaid.Raised in East London to Ghanaian parents, FP had no intention to make the foray into fashion, it was instead football that took all of his time and effort. Right now the brand is in the midst of another evolution as it slowly transitions into a more luxury streetwear brand. We have DJ B-12 back with his first show of the year for with a very special tribute mix to his best friend and almost 16-year-old cat, Biggie, who passed away on February 2, 2023. This is a very deep and emotional set that is truly reminiscent of a classic B-12 set. Biggie had been a huge part of the show and the series. He was always in the studio when B would work on mixes and record. He was the perfect studio companion. He filled the room and B's life with so much love and inspiration. He was like a son to B. He loved everyone and enjoyed hanging out when company would come over. There are a handful of you out there who actually got to meet this legendary cat in person. He will surely be missed every day until they meet again. We celebrate Biggie Talbot 2007 - 2023 on this episode, and by the sound of the mix, we believe Biggie was in the studio once again to help B one more time.
