What's this?! The esteemed 'Belgium Beauty' as part of the Dukes in 2026?! Indeed, it's Lock and Matty here to sprinkle some extra fun in the world of Xbox where the news never stops moving! This week, we have two types of leaks: A fun release window... and an actual game ahead of its launch. Starting with the fun stuff, Gears Of War: E-Day is looking to take a slot in what will, no doubt, be an extremely busy September. How it leaked is the fun part! In the not so fun stuff, Xbox themselves leaked Forza Horizon 6 via Steam. Fortunately, it is very close to the game's launch, but there is more to this story. How did this go down and should there be any panic? Emmy-winning screenwriter, the divine Ken Levine, was today's guilty, not guilty pleasure. Rushing off for a next-to-last dress rehearsal before tomorrow's sole preview, we got a good, healthy dose of the funny, as Ken is wont to do. Guilty Pleasures, his 10th published full-length play, opens this Friday at the Westchester Theatre in Los Angeles for a four-week run. An adult entertainment, no, not that kind, the show's disclaimer says, “Please note this play is intended for mature audiences, as it contains strong language and sexual content.” Ken adds, no nudity, but I know from experience it'll be loaded with laughs. Bonus, my pal, Marshall McCabe, is one of the four stars. One of the most successful humans I know, cross-genre, Ken is a multi-award-winning writer of such shows as Cheers, MASH, Frasier, The Simpsons, and Wings. He's directed over 60 TV episodes and has co-written the movie, VOLUNTEERS, starring Tom Hanks and John Candy; he's been a radio DJ and the play-by-play voice of the Baltimore Orioles, Seattle Mariners, and San Diego Padres. Ken's hosted Dodger Talk for eight seasons, has hosted his own successful podcast, and wrote one of the 25 BEST blogs, as says Time Magazine. Currently, Ken's a contributing cartoonist to the New Yorker Magazine and a globally successful playwright. Guilty Pleasures has been enjoying a two-year run in Prague! Why is he focused on the stage instead of the screen when clearly the financial benefits of the latter so greatly surpass the former? Ken tells it. As always, Ken reminded me how wonderful it is to laugh. A much-needed break from the current madness. I could sure use some more. I'll be heading to the Westchester Theatre this weekend to indulge in some of Ken's Guilty Pleasures (link in the comments). I'll be using code Heywestchester for a $5 discount on the $25 tkts. Hell, it's cheaper than a movie with real live actors making magic just feet away. There's nothing like Live theatre. Except ballet and opera, but don't tell Timothée Chalamet. The Tim Conway Jr. Show Hour 2 (3.3) Emmy-winning sitcom legend Ken Levine (with credits including M*A*S*H, Cheers, and Frasier) joins Tim and the crew for a hilarious, inside-baseball chat about writing TV comedy, what made those shows work, and why sitcom structure still matters today. Then it’s on: the gang debates their Top 10 Sitcoms of All Time—with plenty of arguing, surprise picks, and at least one “you’re out of your mind” moment. Ken also plugs the West Coast premiere of his show “GUILTY PLEASURES: An Unapologetic Comedy,” running March 13 through April 4, 2026 at the Westchester Playhouse (8301 Hindry Ave., Los Angeles). Plus, he shares stories from his time in sports radio—hosting Dodger Talk and even doing Dodgers play-by-play, including the kind of caller chaos only L.A. can deliver. And because this is the Conway Show, we close with pure SoCal weirdness: the latest on a pantless man in Santa Clarita tied to a barricaded situation that had the area on edge.
Dive deep into the strategic mindset of level design, the shift from AAA development to indie studio entrepreneurship, and a radical new business model for creating innovative "Cocktail Games."Key Takeaways & Discussion PointsThe Reality of Level Design Beyond Architecture: Willem, a former level designer at Velan (Knockout City) and Zynga (Star Wars Hunters) , defines level design not as architecture, but as the execution of the game's intent and vision. You are the "great implementers" who build the playground for the core mechanics. Finding the Fun: Execution requires risk-taking. Good levels break the traditional norms—like the restrictive three-lane structure in some shooters —to find unexpected fun and keep the experience fresh. Inspiration Outside the Engine: To avoid creative blocks, step outside your comfort zone. Willem found inspiration for a level in Knockout City (Rooftop Rumble) by listening to Pink Floyd and used JFK assassination podcasts to conceptualize Darth Vader's Castle.

New leaks from friend-of-the-show MLiD have given us a deeper glimpse into Sony's plans for PlayStation 6, especially when it comes to the rumored handheld iteration, codenamed Canis. It appears this device -- slated as part of a potential trio of PS6 hardware due out in '27 -- will be affordable, powerful, and perhaps most surprisingly dockable. With all first party competitors now occupying space (Nintendo, Valve) or chasing a presence (Sony, Microsoft) in the handheld realm, it seems like things could get very spicy on multiple fronts. Allow us to discuss in minute detail. Plus: Hermen Hulst gives a rare interview, Ken Levine emerges with hot-off-the-presses details about Judas, Sony reveals its first four incubated products in the MENA Hero Project, it'll now be easier to request a refund on PSN, and more. Then: Listener inquiries! Some 14 years after release, what are our thoughts on Catherine? Could a major Xbox announcement be lurking in Sony's reported September showcase? It's been a bit of a rough go for Obsidian as of late. Compared to their usual RPG triumphs, Avowed felt quite a bit less than that. However, not all of it was entirely their fault. At one point, Xbox chose to make this the $80 game that would lead the charge in a new era of high prices. After considerable pushback, they chose to drop the price to $70. While a welcome sight, some have debated if even that is a fair price point for what appears to be a AA RPG. Now, marketing has kicked the hornet's nest with the latest companion trailer. So, here we are. Cog and Matty played the prologue section of the game and our thoughts are mixed. There certainly wasn't a "sound the alarm" moment, but it read to the Dukes like a less confident showing. Much of what makes an Obsidian RPG great is here. However, after the preview failed to show how that would be executed, both Dukes were left feeling like there is more that could've been done. Now, the tough decision falls to Xbox. Do you risk another preview and overexpose the game to try and correct things? Do you ride into launch and hope for the best? Time will tell, but we only have to wait until October to learn just how worth it Outer Worlds 2 will be. Please keep in mind that our timestamps are approximate, and will often be slightly off due to dynamic ad placement. 0:00:00 - Intro0:15:07 - Write Ins0:37:33 - Pete Parsons is leaving Bungie0:51:25 - Tim Schafer on Double Fine's future games0:55:32 - Hollow Knight Silksong finally has a release date1:11:32 - Xbox Ally preorder date leaks1:12:39 - The reason that Switch 2 ports of Xbox games are delayed?1:23:00 - Xbox Cloud Gaming is coming to Game Pass subscribers1:29:48 - New Starfield updates detailed1:35:13 - High On Life 2 will include 5 playable games1:37:14 - Replaced is set to release Spring 20261:38:59 - Activision responds to Call of Duty concerns1:50:34 - More Clair Obscur is on the way2:04:51 - Atari has acquired 5 Ubisoft games2:09:26 - Ken Levine opens up on Judas2:16:53 - Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2's Wild DLC situation2:23:20 - Naoki Yoshida says there's no need for new consoles2:26:52 - Herman Hulst on Concord's failure2:31:46 - Skate enters early access on September 16th2:40:02 - What We're Playing3:48:09 - Forza Horizon 6 will be set in Japan3:59:05 - Coming soon to Xbox Game Pass4:00:22 - Game Pass Pick Of The Week Learn more about your ad choices. Xbox saw Matty was slipping, so in a bold strategy to reel the Dukes back in, they have opted to greenlight Fallout 5. Despite what many will try and say to downplay this, there is a strong chance that Fallout 5 goes beyond the borders of Bethesda for the first time since 2010. Considering it's a mainline entry, this is a massive shakeup. It gets even more dicey when Obsidian Entertainment gets taken off the board. So, who makes a new Fallout game? The 76 team? InXile? Larian? Dare we say, a new studio? Oh, boy. Each choice outside of the obvious like Larian or InXile has their caveats. So, let's get into the thick of the future of the Bethesda's valuable post-apocalyptic IP. This episode is a continuation from a conversation that took place on the Hall of Justice podcast episode 395. In that episode, Ken Levine detailed his illustrious TV writing career that included writing for MASH, Cheers, Frasier, the Simpsons, and countless others. In that episode, there was no discussion of what this episode is about. While he was writing Cheers and Frasier, Ken Levine was ALSO a Major League Baseball play-by-play announcer. Levine called games for the Baltimore Orioles, Seattle Mariners, and San Diego Padres. In this episode recounts in great detail how this successful television writer began calling games into a tape recorder at Dodgers Stadium. That activity morphed into a couple of minor league gigs, which in turn became opportunities in the big leagues. While the entire story is fascinating, this podcast also contains amazing stories about Ken Griffey Jr., Tony Gwynn, and Cal Ripken, Jr. Still, the best stories involve Tom Hanks and Ted Danson, who played former Red Sox pitcher Sam Malone on Cheers.
Acclaimed television and film writer Ken Levine has had a successful writing career that consisted of Cheers, Frasier, M*A*S*H, Everybody Loves Raymond, and countless others. He is also an accomplished Major League baseball announcer. He shared an Outstanding Comedy Series Emmy award in 1983 for his work on Cheers. He recently stopped producing his own podcast, Hollywood and Levine, and his own blog. In this episode, Levine talks about getting his start in a golden age of television. He discussed at length his work on Cheers and Frasier. Furthermore, he comments on the transition from network television to streaming services and how smaller episode totals are a challenge for writers. As for his baseball experience, that conversation will be continued on a future episode of a podcast called Sports with Friends.
After almost 8 years, Ken has decided to end his podcast. In this final episode he explains why and reflects on 20 years of blogging and podcasting.
