On this Dueling Decades, we once again look back at some of our favorite past episodes. This week we remember when Diane Franklin joined the show for the first time and determined who had a "not so excellent" decade! Diane Franklin, the beautiful Princess Elizabeth from Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, John Cusack's muse in Better off Dead, and everyone's favorite "Karen" in Last American Virgin grabs the gavel and deliberates this "worst of" battle of the decades! Joe Findlay from Miscast Commentary came to battle with the worst of the first week of July 1986! Marc is looking for back-to-back victories with the most awful first week of July 1976 that he can muster. Mancrush is still looking for his first victory in over a month; so he delivers an inferior first week of July 1996 to get back on the winning path. Diane Franklin brings some brutal honesty to this episode of Dueling Decades! Aside from her unwavering judgments, she also tells us what her worst movie role ever was, what her favorite role was, the real reason why you watched Second Time Lucky, the worst Independence Day movie imaginable, the difference between east coasters and west coasters, invaders from another planet, the end of journalism, Bo Derek, Cannon Films rules no matter what, toys that are a step above coal, cooking with chemicals, a movie Disney wishes didn't exist, a "regular guy" heads to Hollywood, mysterious albums, don't touch Marc, fake coups, intergalactic failures, the price is wrong Bob, boring BBC shows, John McNamara screws Roger Clemens, filming awkward nude scenes, life after Mental Health, and who was the funniest man on the set of Better Off Dead? Do you agree with Diane's rulings? Need more? Come watch us on YouTube or Subscribe to the podcast now on Facebook! Please don't forget to subscribe and review! Before the guys get started, Joe jumps in solo and shares his thoughts on Halloween Kills (with some spoilers). The guys are back for another Halloween Bonus with the fifth installment of the franchise, Halloween V: The Revenge of Michael Myers. Joe reveals that this is the only Native American Actor to take on the role of The Shape and discuss the major plot point that was never supposed to happen (and was later retconned and removed for the new trilogy). They talk about why Danielle Harris returned to this film when the original script called for an older version of Michael's niece. Donald Pleasance is shown to be a true gentleman (hence the name) on set and they pitch a more supernatural connection between Michael and Jamie. They give their thoughts on Variety's claim that Halloween is a rip off of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Joe lists the countries that put this movie straight to video, making Halloween V the smallest release for any film in the franchise. Joe points out a cameo by Greg Nicotero and reveals an interesting common thread between part 5 of this, Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street. Todd gives Joe some advice about a couple's costume for Halloween. They discuss an accident on set and how the Director made it so much worse. Joe has an idea to connect thenew movies to the old ones, restoring Laurie Strode as Michael's Sister. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DISCORD - https://discord.gg/a6UEWh9zft PODCAST - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/miscast-commentary/id1145697204 WEBSITE - http://www.miscastcommentary.com/ TWITTER - https://twitter.com/miscastpodcast TIK TOK - https://www.tiktok.com/@miscastcommentary FACEBOOK - https://www.facebook.com/miscastcommentary TEEPUBLIC - https://www.teepublic.com/stores/miscast-commentary?ref_id=7636 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow Joe! This week on Dueling Decades we take a look back to that one time at Sleepaway Camp where we called horror icon Felissa Rose and asked her to channel her inner Angela Baker to judge a  bloody retro triple threat. Felissa is one of our favorite guest judges!  Her laughter is as infectious as a zombie bite and her stories and tales are frighteningly funny! This makes it the perfect episode to resurrect just in time for spooky month!  Miscast Commentary's Joe Findlay is back and bringing some horrifying hacks from 1984, and he's been bragging all week that he's going to slash the competition. Mancrush goes back to his senior year and brings the horror of 1996 to the table. We're really loving these triple threat matchups, so Marc summoned up the best horror of 1998 to make this a real bloodbath!  In this episode, we're going to find out what Felissa has been up to since Sleepaway Camp, we discuss her penis at length, serial killers who live next door, serial killers from the depths of hell, scary letters to Kylie Monogue, drinking Cisco in the basement, stalkers, an actor repackages himself to become a vampire, the mothers of America cause a cult classic to lose lots of money, Felissa got matching tattoos with another camper, a video game that turned into a media empire, sisters who battle the forces of evil, a multi-threat super beast, an invisible man sleeping in your bed, stabbing your lover and dumping them in the river, Santa Claus, going to lunch with Bill Murray, how much we want an Angela Baker toy, killer Mogwai, prosthetic body parts, reach out and touch Kane Hodder! Do you agree with Felissa's rulings? Need more? Come watch us on YouTube or Subscribe to the podcast now on Facebook! Please don't forget to subscribe and review! Joe and Todd start this commentary by doing something confusing. The pitch the idea of the podcast having a new name for the podcast. For months, Brent Hand of Hysteria 51 fame has been requesting to be a judge on an episode of Dueling Decades. The guys love having him as a contestant so much that they were reluctant to pull the trigger on Brent sitting on the other side of the bench. Well, they finally came to their senses and decided to give Brent a crack at swinging the gavel. And since Hysteria 51 covers all things unexplained, they figured it would probably be most fitting to focus the entire episode around the genre of - The Unexplained! So you may hear about ghosts, missing persons, the occult, demons, aliens, slashers, and whatever else they could fit within the unexplained! Our first contestant this week hails from the great white north, Joe Findlay of Miscast Commentary brought whatever unexplained oddities from 1995 that he could unearth. Mancrush is back, minus his favorite shirt that is. After getting shutout for the first time ever, that shirt ended up becoming a pile of ash! Mancrush is out for blood this week, with the unexplained of 1988. Rounding out the competition, Marc James once again had to dig way back into the 70s to conjure up the unexplained of 1977! While none of them will ever be Robert Stack, they try their best to be! Brent uses his Hysteria 51 experience to decide which decade takes this unexplained battle royale, and it comes right down to the wire. This podcast takes the listener into the normally private world of therapy, with audiences able to sit in on a session conducted by world famous psychologist and couples therapy expert Esther Perel. *NOTE* An issue with the recording caused a slight quality issue with the live portion of the commentary (not unlistenable, but not up to our standards) The guys dive deep into a Rabbit Hole when they provide commentary for the... let's say video game adaptation, Double Dragon. Author/Speaker/Comic Book Creator B.J. Mendelson revisits us this episode via unheard clips from last week's interview. Todd experiences a major case of Deja Vu and an announcement regarding the next movie. A character actor in multiple Miscast Commentary movies is discussed. Todd is fascinated by the little person in charge of keeping the building standing and the futurism in the movie is taken to task. The lack of training for the actors is brought to light. Comparisons to other adaptations that came out during this time period are made and Todd spots an actor from a cult movie in a very small role. Joe has a theory about Alyssa Milano's involvement in a childish scene. B.J.'s clips include discussion about the prologue and cast, what should have been a solemn moment in the movie, Abobo's journey and how the end reminds him of Kevin Smith. For Extra Credit, all three of the guys try to get to the bottom of the question 'Is this the worst Video Game to Movie Adaptation?'
