Hey there jolly peckerheads! Jason has been doing charity work for rich people in Honduras but now we're back and ready to solve all the world's issues. Did JD kill the Pope? Would you rather hang out with a guy that bangs dogs, a guy who bangs chickens till their dead, or a guy who puts declawed gerbils up their butts? Would you rather the string around the gerbil be on it's tail or wrapped around its hind legs? We're worried about safety here at Shut Up Cincinnati. Did Haley Joel Osment go full Mel Gibson? Does Chris prefer being the bull for a hotwife or a cuck situation? Is the police chief that poops on the floor a hero or an a$$hole? All these questions are answered and Chris pulls out a really gross nose hair about 10 minutes in. Join us or we tell your friends that you're balding.

Today's episode is about "The Elephant 6 Recording Co." (C.B. Stockfleth, 2023), about the titular record label's roster of wild outsider indie artists such as Neutral Milk Hotel, the Olivia Tremor Control, the Apples In Stereo, Elf Power, the Music Tapes, the Minders, the Gerbils, of Montreal, Beulah, Dressy Bessy, Great Lakes & more. Our Very Special Guest is the legendary Lance Bangs, whose credits are too long to list here, but he's worked with most of your favorite musical artists and all of your favorite Jackasses. The movie is a true audiovisual treat, and Lance was there at the time with these musicians (he was roommates with Jeff Mangum of Neutral Milk Hotel) and provided much of the film and still photography seen in the movie. So he's the perfect person to shed light on the 90's underground music and art scene in Athens, GA and the making of the movie itself. Plus we discuss the origin of Jackass, his films about Pavement and Slint, and the long and tantalizing list of musicians who Lance has filmed over the years for documentaries we hope to see one day. The Elephant 6 Recording Co. is in US theaters August 25th, 2023 and on VOD September 1 (Amazon & Apple TV) from Greenwich Entertainment. In Canadian Theaters August 25th and VOD September 26th from levelFILM. The Give Me Five Podcast: An Uncultured Look at Pop Culture and Nostalgia
In an early episode we spoke at length about bad video game movie adaptations. (Mario Bros anyone?) but The Last of us has hit HBO plus with a huge amount of critical fanfare and excellent buzz. Jack Ryan season 3 also was released a few weeks ago and we continue to marvel at John Krasinski's take on the Clancy character. This season takes on the far fetched idea of Russia trying to retake former territories. (sarcasm) And Night Court is back! How does the notoriously zany show line up with current tastes. This week, Editor-in-Chief Elliot Williams and Assignments Editor Kristina Panos gushed about NASA's live obliteration of minor planet Dimorphos using a probe outfitted with a camera. Spoiler alert: the probe reaches its rock-dappled rocky target just fine, and the final transmitted image has a decidedly human tinge. Kristina brought the mystery sound again this week, much to Elliot's sonic delight. Did he get it? Did he figure it out? Well, maybe. The important thing is one of you is bound to get it, so budding Neos need only enter their guess and their email address on the extremely official What's That Sound? entry form. We kick off the hacks with a really neat 3D printed linkage that acts as an elevator for a marble run, and then we discuss a mid-century hack that helps you decide whether it's time to emerge from the fallout shelter using the contents of your typical 1950s pockets. We spent a few minutes comparing our recent radiation exposure levels -- Kristina wins with about a dozen x-rays so far this year, but no full-body CT scans. Then we talk guitars for a bit, remember a forgotten CPU from TI, and spend a few cycles talking about a tone-wheel organ that sounds like a chorus of gleeful gerbils. Finally, we talk toner transfer for 3D prints, argue in defense of small teams versus large committees, and get all tangled up in cursive.
An open letter to Cayden Green from some PowerMizzou lemming. Jackson shot a +3 75 on Sunday in his Mugsy's. Iggy couldn't find where Pepper & Geenie is. Somehow Lern gets brought into it. Pool talk. Gerbils. EMOTD.

Today, Darkness Radio explores The Amazing Afterlife of Animals with Animal Communicator/Author, Karen A. Anderson! From a young age, Karen has had the ability to tell what animals were thinking and feeling, but it was only when a friend, and business partner double crossed her and , that she decided to start mucking out horse stalls, that hints of her true calling started to flourish! It wasn't until an otherworldly animal discussion, which Karen tells us about. that her universe truly opens up! Karen also tells us how to move through our grief, how our animals are doing on the other side, and why we shouldn't grieve as much as we do when they pass on. Karen has a free app that helps you deal with pet loss and gives you hope and healing, and you can get her two books, "The Amazing Afterlife of Animals" and "Hear All Creatures" by clicking this link: https://www.karenanderson.net/ #paranormal #supernatural #metaphysical #paranormalpodcasts #darknessradio #timdennis #petpsychic #animalcommunicator #psychic #medium #spirits #ghosts #afterlife #pets #dogs #cats #birds #fish #lizards #ferrets #gerbils #goldfish #rats #earthboundspirits #rainbowbridge #messagesfrombeyond #animalsintheafterlife
